Here’s your follow-up to the vulgar gossip blogger Perez Hilton’s attack on Miss California USA Carrie Prejean. On MSNBC (natural habitat of slimers), Hilton says he takes back his apology for calling Prejean a “dumb b*tch” and then pours on even more slime by laughing that while he called her that epithet he was really thinking of the “c-word.”

Why is everyone giving the attention whore exactly what he wants? For the love of God, he’s acting like he’s been leading the gay rights revolution when 99% of the gay community thinks he’s an idiot. Because I can’t believe he’s showing up on the news. MSNBC this afternoon and Larry King tonight? He’s getting exactly what he wanted.

And some of those include liberal gays. The idea that there’s an agenda exclusive to gays on the left is silly. The idea of any gay agenda at all, even more so.
You know, this has little if anything to do with racism, misogyny or homophobia (there’s a misnomer). It has to do with the fact that we accept people like that as “celebrities”. I don’t watch any of those shows in question so I’ve already fixed that problem in my universe (for the most part). I will, however, voice my outrage to whoever the corporations were who sponsored this show and follow up by boycotting their products if someone can tell me who they are.
These “people” are in our face with their vulgar crudeness because we allow it. I have a hard time seeing homosexuality as anything but a perverse lifestyle and the more it becomes mainstreamed, the more we see why they were considered perverts for so long.

That said, I can appreciate Michelle’s desire to defend the young woman in question by calling out this idiot’s comments. One commenter on the other thread defended Perez’s behavior simply because he was a supporter of gay marriage.
I grant that the majority of gay marriage supporters commenting on that thread did not agree with that; but there are enough that are so adamant about their cause they care little for the behavior of people that act this way… so long as those people are on “their” side.

For what it’s worth, this is the way I see it. By ignoring these creeps, we legitimize their boorish, vulgar and unspeakably offensive behavior as being acceptable among decent people. By voicing outrage we force these creeps into a corner. We are mainstreaming deviant behavior.
In the “old” days, the creeps had sideshows far from the big tent where all the creeps who had no shame or sense of honor could sneak into at risk of being publicly dishonored. That they had to sneak around is what kept their numbers down. It allowed higher entry fees to be charged but so what. Few wanted to be seen there. Same with the fudge-packing Perez Hiltons and Anderson Coopers of our times. We cannot allow their obscene and incredibly offensive behavior to become “normal” and acceptable.
Let’s see how many of these creeps there really are by watching who risks their careers to defend the Hiltons of the world.

What is appalling is that our society has disinigrated to the point that someone like this would be chosen to judge the Miss America pageant! How can people like this be granted credibility? The portion of the population who accept this garbage as discourse are despicable.

I was watching an interview with Tammy Bruce last week or the week before. If I understood her correctly, she is a feminist first. But not a feminist who uses the agenda to only push liberal causes, but a feminist who advances WOMENS causes.
