Larry King keeps it (cl)assy

By Doug Powers  •  April 23, 2009 11:41 AM

Is it legal for a 75-year-old man to ask a teenager to describe his sex life with another teenager? Larry King did his best impression of that creepy guy who used to hang around the malt shop when you were a kid by prying for some intimate details about the conception of Sarah Palin’s grandchild during an interview with Brisol Palin’s ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston.

From a transcript via Drudge:

KING: Where — was — did sex occur in their house?

LEVI JOHNSTON, EX-FIANCE OF BRISTOL PALIN, FATHER OF BRISTOL’S SON, TRIPP: You know, Larry, that I’m a gentleman, you know. And I don’t, you know, kiss and tell. So, you know, I don’t think that really — that really matters. I mean…

KING: And how about the part, though, that — well, first you said you practiced safe sex most of the time, right?

L. JOHNSTON: Right.

KING: Most of the time.

“On an Arctic Cat? In an igloo? Could you see Russia while you were doing it? In the back of a helicopter while Bristol’s mom shot wolves?”

I sure am glad Larry’s desk covers him from the waist down.

A video of the old perv in action is here.

It’s obvious to the most casual observer that King is doing it to score political points with his handlers. It’s equally obvious that Levi has no idea of who he is actually hurting – not the Republicans, but Bristol, her child, her parents, and most of all, himself. Where does he go from here? There’s nowhere for him to go but down – as we used to say, he’ll wind up on skid row(showing my age).

He has no future, and has squandered his past. Oh, what might have been!

Having said that, Larry King is nothing short of a dirty, sick, perverted old man – worse than Hugh Hefner.

Levi goes on these shows on his own free will. He and his family know what they’re doing. I bet it all that he’ll have a reality show by the fall. If the kid wants to pimp himself and his family to make a buck, he ain’t the first. He dropped out of school, so I hope he makes a dollar and cent in these tough times by any legal means possible. Funny, she’s governor for 2 years prior to the VP nomination, and not a peep out of the left. And she also had a 90% approval rating…highest in the country.

Lest we forget how she does puff pieces.

You think Katie took down Palin? Palin was THE target as soon as she was chosen. She was THE target of the MSM. Did Katie or the MSM put to the forefront Palin’s great work in Alaska or her wardrobe? The MSM did a full frontal attack even to the point voters blamed Palin for things she did not even do, say or support.

As for A-Rod, his time was coming anyway.

Best I can say for her is she was given some opportunities and didn’t blow them but – journalist??? You know she had to be dumped – right?

I see what you’re sayin, but like her, or dislike her, she had an impactful year as a journalist with just two sit-downs.

Except in the ratings. Those sit-downs you mentioned haven’t much affected the number of people tuning in to watch her.

Yes, CBS was hyping up a ratings bump this year, but here’s a good (and apolitical from what I can tell) piece about why that’s a myth.

As a Massachusetts voter I find Barney Frank to be a sick, disgusting, man.

But jokes about the abuse of a child are just, Well, Wrong. IMO.

Correct I guess. But then Barney Franks, the voters in Massachusetts (Franks, Gerry Studds), NAMBLA and the “Liberation” movement don’t consider child rape wrong- they consider it Liberating. When you have a Supreme Court Justice-Ginsberg- advocating the age of consent to be 12 all I can say is watch your children well.

You had a Massachusetts State Assembly Speaker a few years ago stating child rapist did not need punishment-they needed help. When the parents of a murdered boy challenged him and called for the death penalty for child killers the Speaker told them THEY were unreasonable.

I am glad you feel Barney Frank a sick man- but Massachusetts does seem to have a high tolerance for crimes against children. One of the sickest things I ever saw in the US Congress was the Democrats cheering Gerry Studds for having sex with an underage boy. THAT IS WHAT IS SICK.

But if the jokes offend our own at least I shall let them go.

Personally, I feel that the acceptance of vulgarity in general in our society is what has led people like Perez Hilton to feel free to say what he did to Miss California. It is also what led Larry King to feel it was okay to question this boy the way he did. Our acceptance and participation in vulgarity is what gives permission to all of the vulgar to be vulgar.

I get your point, but I think you’re getting a little overworked on what seems to be a rhetorical question on the creepiness factor. I don’t believe that Michelle is advocating a criminal investigation here.

Plus, were they adults when they had the sex that King was asking about? Granted, I know that he’s talking to an adult now about things he did when he was a child. Why does King want to know about sex between two children?

Not to rephrase Michelle’s question, but could it be considered Kiddie Porn if King has Johnston describe sexual acts that occurred when they were minors? Maybe that’s the question.
