Data point – Soros acolyte Rosa Brooks, al Qaeda apologist and military-basher, now ensconced at the Pentagon.
Data point – Radical Yale Law School Dean Harold Koh’s Senate confirmation hearing for a key State Department legal adviser slot set for next Tuesday.
Data point – Department of Haplessness and Stupidity Secretary Janet Napolitano — fresh from pooh-poohing terrorism and illegal border-crossings, botching 9/11 history and issuing hit jobs on limited government conservatives and veterans — is now pushing for repeal of Real ID Act:
A post-9/11 law that sets federal standards for state driver’s licenses and identification cards is under fire from the head of the agency enforcing that law, the Department of Homeland Security.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano this week said she is working with governors to repeal the Real ID Act, which was passed in 2005 and went into effect last year.
The bill is popular in Washington, but is scorned by many governors who bear the responsibility and cost of validating that holders of driver’s licenses are citizens or legal residents of the United States.
Napolitano, former governor of Arizona, said she has met with governors of both parties recently “to look at a way to repeal Real ID.” She said she wants to substitute the federal law with “something else that pivots off of the driver’s license but accomplishes some of the same goals. And we hope to be able to announce something on that fairly soon.” Napolitano made her remarks Tuesday in response to a question at a conference of the Anti-Defamation League.
On Wednesday, Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wisconsin, a sponsor of the law, said he was “angered” by Napolitano’s comments. “Real ID is a necessary program for keeping America safe. It is the will of Congress and also a recommendation of the 9/11 Commission,” Sensenbrenner said.
“When the Democrats took over the majority in the 110th Congress, they said they wanted to implement all of the 9/11 Commission recommendations. I am highly disappointed that they are going back on their word by repealing this important recommendation, and substituting it with a weaker, less safe program that provides terrorists with too many avenues to attack.”

I’m not sure about the “resurgence” part. Extreme leftism has been here all along. They are just getting more bold and “in your face”. They think they are invulverable and have it all locked up, so no need to try and hide it any longer. Now that they are showing their faces, we know what we are fighting. Bring it on!

Watching Hannity last night was extremely painful. Between Ellis H…? and Grodin, my head was pounding. They were totally irrational. I don’t know why Hannity puts up with them, yuks it up and calls them his “good friends”. I like Sean Hannity, but that kind of stuff makes me sick.

There is NO conflict in the Obama Administration over Torture trials and Truth Commissions regardless of the the media-Left or Right says. The supposed diffidence between what Obama and Rahm Emmanuel stated is a well known David Alexrod tactic-confusion as a means of terror. Terrorize the Conservatives into NOT resisting the Administration, terrorizing Conservatives to NOT serve in a future Republican Administrations AND terrorize Democrats into doing what they have to do to remain in power–lose the next election and there will be payback.
David Alexrod’s two great heroes Woodrow Wilson and FDR used similar tactics. Wilson had the War Board and FDR used the IRS to silence dissent.

Yes, these are several data points and have been discussed in the past. Yet, I am curious about former VP Cheney. Not so much data points, but follow-up questions would be useful.
For one – Why does he want to release more information now, when he could have released it when he was in office?
The quick answer is that, Pres Obama’s release of the memos makes it necessary to release all the memos. However, we were told that whatever was being done was keeping us safe, ‘trust us’.
This was backed up by a report that said pizza delivery guys in NJ, Haitian immigrants in FL, paint ballers in VA, and soccer players from Lackawana, NY were all captured and tried for terrorism. Very specific examples of the government protecting us.
For the record – The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist. An imprisoned one is a distant second.
But those specific examples were of domestic terrorist, why not release the specifics of how foreign terrorist are dealt with? Their capture and trials? It would have minimized the skepticism that the Bush Administration was confronted with at the time.
Moreover, won’t releasing more memos reveal that we got actionable intelligence, and useless information? That what was done was successful, and was also un-successful? And, what about the videos that were made, should they be released, too.
I am all for being consistent, asking follow-up questions, and being honest about it. We are big enough to deal with the outcome.

I told you all months ago, that this was all about getting the 60′s left-wing radicals access to our top-secret information (I’ll leave it at TS even though the levels go much much higher).
Thats why they have been quiet for the past couple of months. They’ve been ripping through all of those docs, and now the Chinese, Russians and every other foreign government will have access too. The other governments arent putting pressure on us at the moment, because they dont have to. We are still in the early-stages of self-destructing.
The CIA was neutered this week. The FBI is or will be re-tasked, The NSA just tracks everyone in the world so their role wont change. The Justice department will focus on the previous administration and the enemies of the left. The rest of the last lines of American bureauacracy and/or integrity will slowly fall in line soon.
I wouldnt be surprised if just like Saddam did, prison doors are soon to be thrown open, which will descend the inner cites into chaos and will self-perpetuate the poor’s reliance on government.

So if it is soooo highly favored (which the poll numbers I have seen are about a 50-50 split so how is that highly favored in either direction) why are the Democrats so afraid of debate on the issue? Is it perhaps because the public is not aware of how bad universal health care really is. Just ask anyone in Canada, or France (remember all the people dying in emergency rooms a few years back during the heat wave due to lack of adequate care), or ask any member of the military who has had to go through the bureacratic red tape during rehab for injuries they recieved while serving their nation. The Green party never got off the ground, so the radical lefties bought the Democratic party. Of course, there are wholesale numbers of people who will vote Dem because they always have and always will, regardless of platform or candidate, whereas the GOP goes for a little more informed electorate. Many conservatives are rightly skeptical of the current administration. Decisions made by Obama and company, have me becoming more suspicious by the day. The nagging question that keeps popping into my head is, “To what end do they keep making these eyebrow-raising decisions?”
Supposing that their desired end is some form of socialism, we have to ask how exactly, could that be achieved?
Willing suspension of disbelief on the part of the liberal masses? Yes.
Ensconcing willing participants in federal positions of power? Yes.
Creating authoritative positions above Cabinet level, who are accountable only to the office of the President? Yes.
Establish control over judicial, legislative, and executive branches of the government? Yes.
Create conditions that will cause instability, and insolvency in the financial and banking systems? Yes.
Create an atmosphere of political correctness in order to dampen opposition? Yes.
Use willing participants in the opposition party in order to create a fall guy for failed policy? Yes.
Prevaricate with impunity? Yes.
Delay/deny justice when compatriots are caught in wrong-doing? Yes.
Make unequivocal statements in one direction, but actually mean the opposite of what is said? Yes.
Make liberal use of qualifying statements (“I have always said…, As I’ve said many times before…, To the extent that”…etc.) Yes.
Use greed as a motivational tool to vilify opposition, while secretly embracing it within the body elite? Yes.
This is truly disturbing.
Then, one of the “bright lights” of the Democrat Party, who is married to the liar in chief, chooses not to believe Gen. Petraeus nor the former Vice President? The former FLOTUS who was unable to locate subpoenaed documents found later by a housekeeper in the study of the White House? Who stated under oath repeatedly that she “had no recollection?”
Do we see a pattern here?

As a Centrist Democrat, you should be extremely concerned about the path your party is taking. I truly believe that during Clinton’s last few years in Office he became much more of a Centrist than he was for the first two years of his administration. This had to do with his lack of leadership and “blow with the wind” strategy. After ’94, it became patently obvious that Americans, by and large, didn’t want ultra left policies. Fast forward to 2009 – the Democrats have fooled themselves in to thinking that the vast majority of Americans want far left policies – just the same way they fooled themselves in ’92. Reality hit home in Congress.
It wasn’t a conspiracy – it was reality. One of my favorite reads ever is Clinton’s own book. He freely admits that his ultra left policies killed the Dems in the House and Senate in ’94. The same result could take place here if the GOP would simply show the Dems for what they are (judging by their current performance, the odds are slim) .

I’ve long maintained a sub-party that distinguishes itself as “Conservative Republican” is a posssible answer, or at least a first step. Have as list of basic principles one must scbscribe to in order to join.
Keep working on your state legislators to pass resolutions and laws reaffirming their 10th amendment rights. Take back our Constitution state by state.

That’s why I listen to Rush every day, but turn it off when Hannity comes on. Like I say, I like Sean most of the time, but why does he have those extreme moonbats on his show? Makes portions of it unwatchable. This is not the “fair and balanced” we need. We need a serious, logical discourse between two adults who have something to say. They may disagree, but the debate is interesting. When Ellis and Grodin were on, it was a shouting match. Ellis never stops talking for a second. I guess he feels if he doesn’t let the other person talk, then he wins. And Grodin…my gosh! He made a joke out of the most serious stuff. Why bother to have him? He contributed absolutely nothing! Hannity better get a clue fast or he will lose more listeners than he thinks.

Happyscrapper: Hannity just isn’t all that bright. Last year, he had Howard Stern as a guest whom he obviously planned on carving up in debate. Stern had Hannity babbling in frustration as Stern continually dodged his tricky questions and turned the tables. Take his show away and force to stand on his own in a fair debate, he is clueless.

Well, if she’s against the Real ID act it’d be the one sensible thing she’s suggested. Real ID does exactly zero to improve security – it just creates an additional layer of federal bureaucracy on top of our existing structures. I’m shocked Republicans aren’t going “hmmm… this has worked so well in other areas.”
The difference is that conservatives, for the most part, believe in maintaining a level of decorum and civility, while liberals, especially those with a personality importance disorder, personality deficit disorder, and/or inflated ego disorders, are under no such self-imposed restraints.

They are unable, or unwilling to consider any compromise. That is why you will always see them talking over, talking louder, or interrupting those whose views differ from the ones to which they adhere. The mere thought or possibility that they could be wrong is nothing short of torture for them.

So why not join conservatives (who outnumber the remaining noseholding Republicans by far) and vote for a third party candidate next time? Only when the GOP candidate shows up in third place in the polls is there any possibility that they will change. My bet is, like the newspapers, rather than change they will choose to go out of business instead.
BTW, I’m not fixating on you today. You are just touching on a very important part of the GOP problem: the habit of the hard-core 20% Republicans to vote for Republicans no matter what.
