100th Daygasm: Obama ‘asks’ networks for hour of primetime during sweeps
Here’s your feelgood story of the day: President Obama is saying “thanks for all your support” to the media behemoths who carried his water during the campaign by swiping a valuable hour of time during May Sweeps:
White House officials have requested up to an hour of airtime for Wednesday, April 29, according to TV Week. The press conference, which falls on the 100th day of Obama’s presidency, will probably air in the 8 o’clock hour and address questions of the president’s performance.
Broadcast networks have not yet announced their response, but a source said that they will most likely agree to the administration’s request.
I hope Obama ends up “requesting” time every night in prime time — so much so that even Mussolini would think he’s overdoing it on the media control. It’s the least the networks deserve.
But, if Obama’s press conference next Wednesday interferes with the Tigers/Yankees game that night on ESPN, then my network schadenfreude will turn to frustration.

Obama won because he and his handlers sold a perception that was not and is not the reality of his ideals and his Presidency. He will continue to be in campaign mode to the dying end. It will be Nero fiddling while Rome is burning all over again.
And when he is voted out of office the media will continue to act as if he deserves to still be President and there is something “wrong” with all Americans who did not vote for him.

The press conference will not be shown at Gitmo because Obama has promised to stop torturing captured terrorists.

I give him a D. He’s made more than a few stumbles, particularly with cabinet nominees, but overall he’s done about as well as I expected.
This sums up his first hundred days of incompetence in the reign of HopeyChange.

I’ve got this plate with our leader’s picture on it, see, and it’s quite nice.
I like to look at it…for hours. Sometimes I could swear that our leader’s kind eyes seem to follow me around the room, but I’m sure it’s just an illusion and when I come to that realization, I get sad. Part of me likes to think he really is watching me through the plate, though, even though I know that’s impossible. Maybe.
I’m looking at the plate again right now. Our leader is so confident and warm. I can’t wait until he finally fills my tank with gas and pays my bills because I haven’t done either in a while and it is making things a bit difficult, but I know he’s still trying to hunt down Bush, so I forgive him for being busy. No matter, it will be nice to see our leader on TV again.

Actually lets think that through for a moment. Probably some truth to it. But lets look at the impact. TV makes much of its money on ratings or viewer ship figures. So many folks watch this show means the networks can charge this much for advertising, etc.
So when Obama is on TV, what happens to ratings on those channels that show his “news conferences”? Why yes Virginia those ratings go in the toilet and we are watching re-runs of McHale’s Navy just to avoid seeing the propaganda being presented as “news”.
So each and every time the networks decide to present the Obama Hour, is it then potentially costing those networks big bucks?
Isn’t that the way Obama does things and how the left really works? I mean isn’t that just a great example of why leftism is ineffective and bad for the country?

To paraphrase him: Obama’s a great president, on TV every day (that makes him a great president?), Obama should break the cycle of prosecuting members of previous administrations (who did Bush ever prosecute from Clinton’s administration?), remarks that to gain his approval Obama would have to drop the prosecutions, etc….who in hell gives a big crap about Horroraldos approval? We all know it is going to be another campaign speech. He is going to brag about all the wonderful things he did in just 100 days. I’ve been making toast, two slices at a time for the last 94 days during every free moment I have. So far, I have 4 images of our Saviour, 6 Virgin Marys, and 22 Hello Kitties and 1 that is either Janet Reno or Will Ferrell, I can’t tell the difference. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a single image of Obama. If I still have no results by the time we reach 100 days, I’m going to move on to grilled cheese sandwiches.

Considering all Obama knows how to do is run his mouth, he wants as many people in the nation to see him do it as possible. Since every “appearance” on TV during prime time costs the networks MILLIONS, they get what they deserve while I read a book.
In a related news announcement, Netflix yesterday announced that it added more net subscribers than in any previous quarter in their history and grew year-over-year GAAP EPS by 76 percent.
If I was running that company, I’d find out how to sponsor the TV network Obamafest.
Since the telecast won’t be interrupted we can’t even go after the sponsors. Have to hit them with ratings, but somehow, I don’t think that will work with The Won. He can ask and get prime time every single time he wants to indoctrinate the little people. Can’t remember where I read a commenter that had sent a bill to their kids showing what they’ll owe when the bills come due. Priceless. We might all target a young adult and do the same thing – especially those working for minimum wage to get through school.
I long for the days of John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Bob Hope…you know, the Hollywood people who actually loved their country, were true patriots and not traitors. These were good people. The creeps out there today are not. Every time I think of Hollywood (as little as possible), Sodom and Gomorrah comes to mind. Their days are numbered.
