Another black mark for HUD nominee Ron Sims
I wrote two weeks ago about transparency killer Ron Sim, the King County WA bureaucrat nominated to the no. 2 spot at HUD by supposed transparency savior Barack Obama. Those in his backyard who know him best know the lengths Sims has gone to in order to obstruct public disclosure and stop taxpayers from finding out the truth about his office’s shady dealings.
As I mentioned in the column, blogger Stefan Sharkansky sued Sims over his refusal to release public records related to voter fraud during the 2004 contested gubernatorial election. Today, Sharkansky reports, Sims and King Count settled for $225,000, one of the largest settlements for public records violations in state history.
The lawsuit stemmed from my December 2004 request for a list of all voters who voted in the November 2004 election. The county did not satisfy my request in full until January 2007.
The documents that they eventually provided to me revealed that county election officials unlawfully counted hundreds of ineligible ballots in the 2004 election: a multiple of Christine Gregoire’s 133-vote “margin of victory” over Dino Rossi in the contested gubernatorial race. Documentation of these illegal votes was withheld from discovery in the election contest trial and not released to me until months after the trial. Consequently, the trial was conducted in ignorance of these potentially outcome-changing illegal votes.
Additional documents that were released last month in discovery for my case confirmed that county officials both knew more about the illegal vote counting than they had previously acknowledged, and also knowingly withheld responsive documents from me during 2005 and 2006.
The exceptionally large (for records cases) settlement, which King County offered before trial, clearly recognizes the county’s culpability in this matter.
Sims expects smooth sailing during his nomination hearing.

This information needs to go to the Republicans that are going to be on Sims’ confirmation hearing and needs to be read into the record. He needs to be shamed and embarassed in public!

There is no shame for not paying taxes, and now voter fraud settlements. You can’t make this stuff up and if you wrote a novel with this many stories of corruption and holding public office – the reading public would never buy it because it’s so off the believability mark. That’s why history will be kind to this administration..no one will believe the truth down the road.

I have only two questions about Mr. Sims.
The first is; How long did he live in the Chicago area?
The second; Who amongst his friends also count Barack Obama, Rahm-bo, and/or Axlerod the Propagandist, as “friends.”
You know there has to be a connection there that goes far beyond simple Democrat Party politics.
What do we know about Chicago politics? It is, for the most part, corrupt. Politicians involved in Chicago politics always seem to be involved, or have personal issues with ethics, dirty money, quid pro quo’s, memory lapses, lapses in judgment, and associations with nefarious characters. He fits the mold, does he not.

LOL!!! That was my first reaction! Ever since that dust up in Texas over the use of the term “black hole” I’ve made sure to use it and “black mark” as often as possible.
However, I have not started using the expression “That’s mighty white of you”. But after hearing it in the movie “The Miracle at Morgan’s Creek” I decided to look up it’s origins. Despite being misappropriated along the way it started out exactly the way my gandpa used to use it–to acknowledge a kind/noble/honorable act. Just imagine the outcry if people started using that expression again!!! In what had to be a Freudian slip, in the first line of this paragraph I orginally mis-spelled “using” as “suing”!!!

Since he is an “ordained” minister, is he ordained through the United Church of Christ? If so, there is one connection…the Trinity United Church of Christ, in Chicago.
Too bad there’s not a single GOP senator who has the stones to call him out on this. Not a one.
Good thing Obama is creating “the most ethical and transparent administration ever” in Washington. As long as you don’t count tax avoidance, corruption and voter fraud, I guess he is.

Well it is unprecedented, I don’t think even the Clintons sank to these depths so quickly.
You can trust that whatever he’s doing is not in the best interests of this country.
Anybody who can’t see through all the bs at this point simply doesn’t want to.
We’ll all be participating through increased taxes from all directions.
He is working very closely with leaders of other nations, not necessarily our allies, but he never actually said who he would be collaborating with.
If we will all just open our hearts, minds and pocketbooks, the establishment of his regime can be accomplished much more quickly and with little collateral damage.
See, it’s all in how you read between the lines. He hasn’t actually lied, some people may just have made wrong assumptions about his stated intentions. Shame on us.
Let me get this straight- they rig an election and get caught but the elction results are allowed to stand as long as they pay a fine? That sounds like money well spent. And the disenfranchised voters? Meh.

All of this is water under an innocent bridge. Instead, I’m eagerly awaiting an Obama Administration-led inquiry to double check that there was no election fraud in the 2008 presidential and congressional elections.

since the ethics, honesty and scruples, of those employed by this administration to include the zero one, are highly questionable, maybe a jail should be built to house them all. it seems zero only knows crooks, cheats and run of the mill trash.

Only an institutional, or structural, imbalance.
An unanswered tactical advantage for the side that are out-laws with respect to the rules.

The elections in Iraq are more honest than the elections here.
I’d like to see protections in our system to ensure that:
1) Only U.S. Citizens are allowed to register
2) No early voting
3) Positive photo ID is required to vote
4) Ink-dipped finger ensures each voter is only allowed to vote once.
5) Foreign money is kept out of our elections
Many of the people at the Tea Parties are focused on “throw the bums out in 2012″.
The 2012 elections won’t change a thing if we allow the Demoncrats to steal them.
I’ve read several posters here who think this republic can be saved by Civics 101, with nothing more required of them than voting, or attending a TEA Party.
I contend that is delusional.
I have read several posters here who are sanguine that they can vote out the rascals, including Obama. Nothing to fear…this is all business as ususal, we’re just another election cycle from righting the boat.

Sadly, I honestly believe that the vast majority of the American public is going to willfully sit back and swallow whatever they are spoon-fed by the administration, a complicit congress and a willing press. Thinking for themselves would be too much work for most people and they really do feel better served letting the government “handle” it …without any thought, concern or belief that the government really is we the people.
