The Thrilla in Vanilla: Gore vs. Gingrich in Global Warming ‘Showdown’?
It’s on! Or maybe not so much:
The House Energy and Commerce Committee has added Republican former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-Ga.) to the roster of witnesses for its hearing on a climate bill today. He joins former Vice President Al Gore on the witness list.
The Hill is reporting the meeting of these two as a “global warming showdown.” It isn’t. Not unless you consider “humans are definitely causing global warming so we must act” and “humans are probably causing global warming so we must act” to be drastically opposing views.
Gingrich jumped the eco shark long ago when he appeared in ads with Nancy “don’t know much about waterboarding” Pelosi urging Americans to take action on climate change. Click the pic to see the commercial:
Pelosi and Gingrich urged everyone to go to WeCanSolveIt.org and help fight climate change. The site features a video of Oprah nodding in unquestioning approval of Al Gore, the man who has become the Ravi Shankar of new millennium junk science by using fear, misinformation, gullibility and blind faith as a sitar that he plays with wildly lucrative virtuosity.
Unfortunately, the only “showdown” that will occur today will be over what to order for lunch. Speaking of that, if many of the attendees want to know what’s really causing global warming — Gore included — all they have to do is strip off their shirts and look in a mirror. Most preferably in private.

I think I’ll wait for the Pelosi vs Kennedy debate on “What I like about Republicans”.
Waxman is stacking the deck. Cheaters cheat ’cause they know they don’t have the skill to win. In this case, they don’t have the facts on their side. They bring Gingey in because he’s already agreed with them and they may now call it “Bipartisan”.
None with an opposing view will be allowed to testify. Evidently,the debate is over.
I’m too busy cruising Route 66, enjoying the scenery, to think about Gullible Warming.

Hell, I sure could pick a better person then GINGRICH to speak out on “climate change”… I know of a list of 30,000 plus SCIENTISTS, all who have PHDs in some form of CLIMATE SCIENCE, who would love to be invited to “TESTIFY”… I bet they could even find some who could come on short notice… AHHH, but that would present an opposing viewpoint… And we already have a “CONSENSUS”, don’t we???
I have nothing but admiration for farmers and ranchers and I live in farm country. Trying to make ends meet here is a challenge. The cost of everything to provide food to the USA is going up as well as Government meddling increasing every day. The new thing here is Carbon Credit Banks. Any amount of acreage can be set aside, let lay fallow and between 25 and 45 dollars an acre can be paid – I believe per month, as carbon credits for companies. Believe me, Farmers especially are looking at this. The kicker is, when the grass dries up, it can be mowed down and used for hay. You think food costs are high now? Stand by folks.
It is positively unfathomable why Gingrich has suddenly been reborn in the eyes of some so-called ‘conservatives”. This is a guy who sold out America and his principals once the power of Speaker grabbed him.
One needs only to read “Breach of Trust”, by Tom Coburn (yes, THAT Tom Coburn) to see the depth of his deceit.
I have no use for Gingrich as a representative of conservative principles for one simple reason … he HAS none.

Temps going up and down is normal. Its part of having life on this planet. All kinds of life. Temp changes does not mean anything is broken, a dire emergency, nor that an advanced free civilization is a bad thing.
Using temp changes to force government intervention to curtain freedom, to curtail progress and prosperity is the goal of the scam. Not to prove whether humans do or do not cause climate changes.

The response is to ask them to explain why temp variations that are normal and to be expected justifies the drive of these big government socialist types to control us and destroy our economy.
We will get no where if we try and make the argument about “science” or “facts”.

Well folks, up here in the Sierra/Nevada mountains of CA, we’re getting snow right now — on April 24. Right now we have about 6″ of snow on the deck and it doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon.

I’m sure Gingrich could wipe the floor with the Goracle in any debate, and it might even be entertaining to watch. But, we know for a fact that this won’t be a ’showdown’ at all because of one simple reason: Gore is showing up. He’s fled every other potential public conflict with every other real opponent on this issue because he knows he can’t win on the facts against a properly equipped opponent. Gore’s very presence proves it won’t be a confrontation; instead, it will be a way to tarnish someone widely known as a conservative as an eco-nut like himself. But, to be honest, Gingrich has pretty much done it to himself.

Congress has morphed into an obscene caricature of a cartoon-like banana republic. They are working backward from a conclusion, and trying to make the square peg facts fit into the round hole conclusion.
Congressional hearings were supposed to be about getting to the truth on behalf of the American people. These days, they are nothing more than a badly choreographed kangaroo court to rubber stamp the goals of special interests.
Lord Moncton, unlike Al Gore, has a solid science background. He also has earned his stripes in his role within the UK government.
Al Gore has a divinity degree (barely graduating), and has zero background in science (unless you count science fiction). He is an accomplished sideshow barker, peddling the latest iteration of snake oil to the masses. The experience he does have is in selling fiction for fact (as most career politicians).
There is no reason for the Democrats to disinvite Lord Monckton but for the fact that his appearance would destroy not only Gore’s testimony and credibility and would enter a measure of truth into the global warming debate.
He who controls energy in this day and age controls the people. And the government controlling the people is the antithesis of a government established by and for the people.
with only 200 years of documented world climate, how can anyone say mankind is behind global warming. The earth is 4.5 billion years old…mankind 40,000 years. Why isn’t the opposition being heard.. why do most of the scientist on this issue refute that it is happening… MAJOR SCAM LIKE THE RADON SCAM OF THE 80s. To clarify, Al Gore does not have a degree from divinity school or law school. He either flunked out or dropped out from Vanderbilt where he pursued both degrees at different times in the mid-70s.
Gore’s only degree is from Harvard where he graduated with a BA in Government in 1969. To be fair Gore graduated “cum laude” from Harvard.
Gore wouldn’t care about global warming if he couldn’t make a buck off it. It’s all about fame and money.
Why does Henry Waxman have such large nostrils?
1) Because his fingers are so big.
2) Because air is free.
3) So he can sniff out corruption much easier.
4) Because he needs as much oxygen as possible to nourish his impossibly small brain.

Seriously, though, I’m curious to see whether or not Mr. Gingrich, whom I like, has seen the light, and has been disabused of the notion that the left actually believes in “bi-partisanship,” or the concept of “non-partisanship.”
It’s time for true conservatives to “man up” and stop negotiating with those whose goals are to destroy this country while getting rich off the chaos they cause. Gore, Feinstein, Pelosi, Murtha, are just a small sampling of these parasites. There are many more…too many!

Here are a couple of updates on how the hearings are going. Most noticeable to me is that nobody is even arguing whether or not man has caused this “impending catastrophe.” The opponents are arguing that it will cost too much (in $ and jobs). Yes, that is a valid point, but when, oh when, is somebody going to smack people upside-the-head with the facts?!?!

Bloomberg article reporting that forest and wild fires contribute “global warming gases” equating to half of those produced by fossil fuel vehicles yet are excluded from the global warming model.

Go there, and enter your zip code. You get the 10-day forecast for your area.
Now, check the times the tenth day out forecast is accurate on the actual day.
In other words, look at May 3rd today, mark down the forecast for that day, and see if it is accurate when May 3rd arrives.
You can make a nifty chart, with colors and stuff.
What you will see, if my experience is any indicator, is that the accuracy of forecasts ten days out stinks.
Now, extrapolate the accuracy of a 10 year, or 100 year forecast…which you have to accept as an article of faith to buy the Idiot Gore’s feed-lot carpeting.
I wouldn’t vote for Newtie if he were running.
But I also have a memory…and I retain the ability to remember the good people have done, even when I deplore what they are doing.
Gingrich has an excellent mind, and valuable insights. He is also a “human being”, and just as susceptible to human nature as any of us.
So, here’s the parable of Newtie: we sent a dedicated, idealistic and brillant person to DC. He did fine things there…for a while. Then, somethingSSSSS happened to him.
The moral: power corrupts. DC is the nexus of power in the U.S….or the Free World, for that matter.
You can elect as many fine, idealistic, bright people as you can find and run through the process…
and most of them will be just like what’s left of the Gingrich of long ago.

Algore is the ex-veep who needs to shut up & go home! Climate change is cyclical – i.e., not man-caused! Any “Cap & Trade” or other “Climate Change” or “Green Energy” bill(s) will do nothing to change climate, but only increase the cost of readily-available energy through the roof! Man can do nothing to change the Earth’s climate; and to posit that CO2 is causing global warming is simply unscientific. Imagine our atmosphere as a football field. It’s just amazing that we are still even having this argument. Humans are not the problem here, and cannot be the solution. We can, however, do incredible harm to our economy by pursuing this nonsense.
