SWAGGA time: Obama’s 100 day toast to himself

By Michelle Malkin  •  April 29, 2009 07:57 PM

Open thread for all of you intrepid rightwing extremists with strong enough stomachs to endure President Obama’s 100-day television extravaganza this evening.

I will be drinking SWAGGA juice and waving my tea bag at the television set.

***

Fun fact: A reporter for the financially ailing New York Times gloats that the Fishwrap of Record has made $2 million off of Obama-themed merchandise.

Every Obama story by the Times should include this financial disclosure. Same for any other national paper that has been hawking Obama gear since Nov. 4, 2008.

***

AP’s Jennifer Obama-lovin’ Loven gets the first question. Should we close the border to deal with (bleep) flu? Obama says not now. But they are readying resources on border. He leaves the door open in case of a worse case scenario.

Repeats several times that people need to wash their hands.

Reminds me of how people mocked Bush for recommending to Obama that he use hand sanitizer.

***

Well, now. After the left-wing bloggers went bananas trying to blame the GOP for underfunding flu pandemic programs, Obama just praised the GOP for working on Tamiflu stockpiles that he inherited.

***

Gag. NYTimes reporter Jeff Zeleny asks what has “surprised, troubled, enchanted, humbled” Obama the most since his presidency began. Obama gets out his pen to write it all down. Where’s the teleprompter when you need it?

True – unless you are a Democrat. In which case, you would let the horses get out to prove that President Bush was completely at fault and the only way to close the barn door is to print a Trillion or so dollars you don’t have and give them to your buddies.

Open thread? Rightwing extremists? You know, the lawmakers in Massachusets in 1672 were far Rightwing extremists.

Those were the days when man’s laws in Massachusets lined up with God’s laws, and specifically cited the Biblical reference for man’s laws.

Again, they were far Rightwing extremists.

Today, it’s almost 180 degrees the other way, with liberal judges in Massachusets saying gays are allowed to marry.

It was once politically correct to be Biblically correct.
Now it seems politically correct to do the exact opposite.

100 days of “emergencies” and “crisis”. I wonder, once the swine flu farce is over with, what new “emergency” and “crisis” will come out. All I see is a government that has planned to “crisis” this country right out of our liberties and freedoms. It’s right out of the totalitarian guidebook. Create an enemy, divert the public’s attention to it, and away from you, then pass laws (to protect the public) that take away their liberty. When the public wakes up to this policy, it’s already too late. By the way, where is the panic over the 36,000 people that died from flu last year? It’s old news and not enough to cause a “crisis/panic” that enables the government to “act”. Here’s a new one, Obama. Most rodents, in the western states, are still infected from bubonic plague (stemming from the S.F. plague outbreaks). 2 people got sick last year. “OMG, everyone panic!”

picture this: Odumba with a stupid looking ball cap, flat bill to the side. Suit pants to his knees..oversize basketball shoes with the tongue flap out and laces untied. Swaggering across the White House lawn. Oh yea! that’s our prez. Why didn’t they decide on a pit bull again?

    Where is everyone tonight? Chap?

At the moment I do not have internet access where I am staying, so I can’t post at night. And in any case I was not in to watch the program.

However, from all indications, it sounds like Obama was pretty calm cool and collected throughout the whole thing. This is especially impressive considering the number of problems he has inherited from the previous administration. Its going to take a while for him to fix all of them, so maybe just a little bit of patience from the public and media is warranted.

I didn’t watch – what’s the point? It would just make me angry. I went to the gym instead.

It just blows my mind how these fools still don’t realize they’re being razzle-dazzled. That’s probably what angers me the most.

Chapoutier – that’s my point. Yes, he’s calm and cool, handsome and eloquently reads from a teleprompter, but where’s the substance? I think it was the Rasmussen poll that showed a high approval rating for him as President, but not so much for his policies. He is very good at distancing himself from unpopular decisions – normally blaming the previous administration for them. He appeals to people’s emotional and aesthetic senses. Most of what I read in terms of his accolades amounts to “He’s doing a wonderful job at making everything sound really great. And he looks so good whilst doing it.”

Of course he was calm cool and collected. He had the whole event controlled and staged and he was completely boring because of it. No substance, he just dronned on and said nothing..typical for him. You think he should get some attaboys because he was calm? Besides, unless he’s in front of a camera, he couldn’t care less what goes on outside of his ivory tower

is especially impressive considering the number of problems he has inherited from the previous administration

You know, you can make it through these Obama TV spectacles if you just take time to prepare with these simple steps:

    1) Drink a 5th of whiskey BEFORE you turn on the TV
    2) Turn down the lights in the room
    3) Find a comfortable chair
    4) Throw the remote control as far as possible
    5) Close your eye and repeat, “Only 1360 more days. Only 1360 more days. Only 1360 more days…”

President BO gives me the courage to speak out on issues of race and here I go, “BO is a thug N-word, and is and will be an embarrassment to black Americans forever. He is the typical crooked black politician, racist to the core, always ready to betray his fellow black Americans, and a traitor at heart.” Of course, white liberal journalists are fawning over him as they see their newspapers failing and are openly looking for a job with the BO administration. They particularly like blacks who sell out poor black Americans. With all the journalist adoration, BO will soon go psychotic, a la Howard Hughes, since humans don’t do very well completely surrounded not just by, “yes men,” but worse surrounded by, “yes Jesus,” zealots. It is going to get very ugly.

Chap – please, don’t use the “inherited” bulls— line. Congress controls the spending of money, NOT former President Bush. In fact, Mr. Bush reminded Congress 17 times that there were going to be problems with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, and he was ridiculed horribly in the press and by Congressional Democrats. So, spare me, that crap line. Want to blame somebody? You need to take a long hard look at the democrats and the republicans in Congress. But, BHO comes off as though he is going to save the world and he does it by constantly blaming Republicans (never Democrats). IMO, Obingo is and always has been, an empty suit.

    From a Maureen Dowd column May 4, 2003 -

He flashed that famous all-American grin as he swaggered around the deck of the aircraft carrier in his olive flight suit, ejection harness between his legs, helmet tucked under his arm, awestruck crew crowding around. Maverick was back, cooler and hotter than ever, throttling to the max with joystick politics.

Others always assign characterization. Big deal.
