Sarah Palin on Twitter? You betcha! — Update: TV critic has PDS

By Doug Powers  •  April 30, 2009 11:15 AM

Sarah Palin is now using Twitter (AKGovSarahPalin), and I see she’s increased about 100 followers just in the time to write this sentence.

Update: Maybe the governor will be doing some Tweeting about her upcoming appearance on American Chopper. I think I’ll go to the Sturgis rally this August… ya know, just in case.

Update II: Via Newsbusters — The Baltimore Sun’s pencil-necked TV critic put his Palin Derangement Syndrome out for all to see in his description of the American Chopper episode featuring Palin:

Move over, Kate Gosselin, a bigger hot dog than you is coming to The Learning Channel Thursday night when Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears on American Chopper.

Is this a marriage made in reality TV heaven or what?

Thursday’s episode featues Paul Teutul Sr., the father of the chopper building clan that stars in this series, journeying to Alaska to do research on a special bike that he and his posse are building to honor the 50th anniversary of the state.

And, of course, who better to be his new best biker mama friend than that moose hunting sharpshooter, who blew up any chance the Republicans had to make it to the White House last fall with her divisive rhetoric and disastrous TV interviews.

American Chooper airs at 9 Thursday night on TLC.

Not quite true, sure you know that, anyway, truth was McShame closed down his campaign to return to Washington, the moment he announced the closure his numbers went down. Supporters of Palin were not effected by the ambushed t.v. interviewers, sure you also know that. But nice try.

The biggest cause of the collapse of the campaign was the economy taking a huge hit, no thanks to the hacks on TV every day screaming about how the world was ending, and McCain suspending his campaign to go back to lobby and vote for the first of the bailouts. Thats when many conservatives decided that they would stay home or leave the President box blank on the ballot.

Blame the media all you want. Blaming the media won’t get you ready for 2012. Truth is, the GOP chose a woman who completely lacked media savvy, and appeared incapable of answering some of the most basic questions.

    Question:
Do you blame the media for McCain staffers trashing her and throwing her under the bus after the campaign, due to her behavior and incompetence?

I think what still hurts Chappy and the other lefties is that Palin was and is more experienced than hussein.

It was the LEFT who immediately started in comparing her to hussein instead of to Biden. Funny!

Hussein got in because the MSM never stopped drooling over him and attacked her like aligators on a zebra.

If the MSM had done even the smallest amout of vetting, the Usurper in Chief wouldn’t have been elected. We know that, and the LEFT knows that. They will simply never admit it.

Are you trying to tell me that you lost because conservatives stayed home due to McCain’s mishandling of the economic crisis?? But, but I thought many of you always knew McCain was a moderate RINO with 0 economic chops. If Palin was the reason for voting for the ticket, how can you opine that conservatives stayed home, and essentially abandoned Palin, just because McCain was being McCain? I don’t think so.

I blame the fact that McCain’s EGO will never allow that HE lost that race… plain and simple. He also can’t stand that Palin was far more popular than he was.

And can you ADMIT that Katie Couric and the rest of the MSM never gave hussein any tough questions like they threw at Palin? And when hussein would say STUPID things like, ‘We don’t need to fear Iran, they’re just a little country.’ the MSM simply IGNORED IT.

If the MEDIA had focused on hussein and Biden’s idiocy and drummed on their gaffes like they did Palin’s, those two morons would never have been elected.

The economy tanked, McCain made the stupid move of suspending his campaign, and agreed to the bailout.

The economic drop in October is the single biggest factor that decided this election. Any honest person from either side will tell you that.

I’m actually agreeing with you, so you may have gotten confused somewhere, unless I was less than clear. Palin never lost “the base”. However, and this is the part “the base” doesn’t seem to get:

You have to have moderates and independents to win the White House.

Period. There’s no debate. Palin alienated many moderates and independents over time. If that’s not the main reason McCain lost, it’s a close second to McCain’s “the fundamentals of the economy are sound” followed by a lack of leadership on the crisis. The Palin issue has to do with the moderate, middle of the road voters. You need these voters. EQ mentioned the polls. Go back to EQ’s polls and you’ll read em and weep.

I could live with him suspending his campaign for a good reason, e.g., to STOP the bailout madness. But when he made such a big production out of the “selfless” and “patriotic” decision to go to DC and sit like a lump while our country’s future was being washed down the drain, it just made no sense to me. I’m guessing I’m not alone in this.
