Monday snort-inducer
Okay, the part about Janet Napolitano being in the running for Supreme Court justice is a stomach-turner. It’s the part at the end that is the snort-inducer of the day so far:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano was studiously evasive Sunday about whether she coveted an appointment to the Supreme Court, as Republicans and Democrats sparred over the next justice.
“I’ve got my hands full with the (swine) flu right now, and I’m going to stick with that (answer),” the former governor and attorney-general of Arizona said on Fox News Sunday.
Napolitano has been floated as a possible name for President Barack Obama to name to the highest US court, after the liberal-leaning Justice David Souter announced Friday that he plans to retire in June…
… Obama said he aims to have a replacement on the bench by the time the court begins anew in October, “someone with a sharp and independent mind and a record of excellence and integrity.”
The former constitutional law professor is said to prefer a woman for the job. His spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama was seeking “diversity of experience” in his nominee, and that a “rigorous” vetting process was underway.

Rigorous vetting process? You mean the same kind that half of Obama’s staff had, including Janet’s?
Why do I feel a strong sense of skepticism?
Well, that leaves out ‘Janet’.
Heh. There’s a vetting process in this administration? Whodathunkit.
“Diversity” is one of the most overused and abused words; I’m sick of it. Everyone is diverse in many, many ways. Why do they have to narrow it down to a select group? When someone is said to be diverse, that normally means they are one or any combination of the following: female, black, gay.
Of course there is. All applications must be legible.
Of course. Silly me.
As Moses says to God in the Bill Cosby “Noah” bit:
“Riiiiight!”
a “rigorous” vetting process was underway.
Her first order of business will be to change the name “Supreme Court” to “Arbitrators of the Global Hope Initiative.”
Is it just me, or does Janet Napolitano usually come across like someone who’s been ordered to stand in the corner of a round room?
As Noah says to God….
Apologies.
Not enough coffee….
Must think exactly like liberal groupthink.
Can’t be a white male and must be able to explain how the Constitution is unconstitutional.
Their entire vetting process is seeing just how far looney left they are. They need to be as far left as possible, without crossing the line of coming back to the right.
I hear he’s also considering Raul Castro, John Walker Lindh, Lynne Stewart, Bernadine Dohrn, his aunt Zeituni, and “any random Al Qaeda terrorist, as long as she’s female and can pass the TOEFL exam.”
Wouldn’t that last bit of criterion completely eliminate virtually every Democrat Leftist out there?
I think Obama needs Billy Mays to pitch this one.
BILLY MAYS FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Words that don’t exist in the liberal’s dictionary.
Does that mean no eraser marks too? Guess I’m not in the running then….
Words. Just words.
Ixnay on the crayons as well.
One can only laugh at this point.
When I read on fox that “Napolitano” wouldn’t confirm or deny… I thought they were talking about “The Judge” from Fox Radio. I figured with the general level of stupidity that Janet
RenoNapolitano had shown, the only promotion she would get was out the door and back into the private sector.Depends on the color. Apparently there’s a historical bias towards red, green and blue. Fill it out in burnt sienna and you might have a chance.
Barry O was never a professor of anything.
I have a feeling that the Odopey admin thinks the “vetting process” means taking “BO” for his shots.
I wonder if who ever the Messiah picks will have their taxes payed up, before they go before congress? But then with this congress that shouldn’t preclude from getting it. I heard that the Republicans in the senate are going to rubber stamp everything the Messiah wants.
I for one, as a citizen of Arizona, am in favor of J-NO for the job… She is the “BEST MAN” he could nominate… Plus, as a lifetime appointment, it would GUARANTEE she would not be back in Arizona!!!
Resistance is futile….if you are left leaning.
“rigorous vetting process” = best 2 out of 3 from a Magic 8-Ball toy
I hear Obama is insisting on a vetting process equal to the one he received.
What a linguistic bigot! Why should anyone have to learn English to serve in any position – nay, to be all they can be in a land full of people who think the TOEFL is some valid means of determining communications abilities.
Tests are the way “the man” keeps minorities down. Just ask anyone who has ever suffered a calculus exam or a thermodynamics pop quiz. Who really cares about the final temperature of a room when a one ton block of ice melts in it? What good is an integral when you are scoring a rock with your homies? Will a set of Jordans fit my ride? These are the questions? TOEFL? I bet half of the people who go to school in Detroit could not pass it anyway….

Janet Napolitano?? For the SCOTUS?! Are these the same Dems who sniggered when W Bush tried to appoint Harriet Miers? Are they freakin’ SERIOUS???!!!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
Oh yeah, Janet Napolitano. I remember her. She was the attorney for Susan Hoershner, the Workers’ Compensation “judge” from California who made up all that supporting evidence for Anita Hill during the Clarence Thomas hearings, wasn’t she? Anyone remember all that confusion about when Hill and Hoershner had their conversations? Prevaricating colostomy bag.
If this woman does get nominated, I hope someone will remember this and see to it she gets exactly the same treatment she helped engineer against Justice Thomas. EXACTLY the same treatment. Good for the goose, and all that.
wait, he has a doctorate?
I’m glad I wasn’t drinking anything when I read this one! My wife would have thought I was doing a Danny Thomas immitation–he was the king of the spit-take.
I don’t think there is any formal requirement of any sort to have the title “Professor.” But in any case a juris doctorate is usually considered by schools to be a terminal degree, like a PhD. Though there is something called an LLM that many, if not most law professors also get.
Taxes need not be paid prior to nomination…
Oh good gracious, all I can say right now is:
Dammit Janet!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vK3PzGhbbWA
blah…
I heard Obama wanted a Hispanic female. She wouldn’t really qualify except that she wants the Hispanic invaders from the south to keep coming and give them amnesty.
karnold #34: YES!!! I remember that. She deserves to get EXACTLY the kind of disrespect shown Justice Thomas during that sham of an inquiry with Ms. Hill, the Champion Liar. If Napolitano gets within 20 feet of the Supreme Court, I really fear for our country.
And they said that in the same statement including a complete and total moron like Napolitano?
I am getting the world’s biggest bruise on my forehead…not to mention the dents in the wall from where I keep banging my head…
I keep hoping it will just callus over eventually. I figure that will happen LONG before this amazing ridiculousness will stop.
And the media not only has no issue with such things, they are actively encouraging it. How quickly we have come to this bizarro-world.
A vetting process? Ask any steer how that works…
Must be able to smell new rights in Emanations of Penumbra from the Constitution. I believe that’s done much like Johnny did as Karnak the Magnificent.
There will be two nominations – an Obama equivalent of Miers who will be so outre that Rachel Maddow would object, and then there will be the real one who will have left no paper or blog trail but will still be hard left.

Sorry…I am still trying to get my mind around Napolitano’s name being bantered around as a possible choice. This woman has done nothing over the last few weeks but demonstrate what a complete and utter fool and puppet she is.
Then again, considering the way that she treats Obama…similar to the way Hitler’s minions treated him, who else WOULD Obama want in the Supreme Court to help get his non-Constitutional issues pushed through.
After all…if you want to go around the law, you need a good patsy.
Janet Napolitano as attorney general? Heck why not Susan Boyle?

If they want Diversity they could hire me.
But I saw this ad in the paper this morning:
“Rigorous vetting process…”
HAHAHAAHAHAAAAAA
Is that the same “rigor” with which:
- Daschle
- Napolitano
- Richardson
- Holder
- EVERYONE ELSE
was “vetted?”
Sometimes I wonder if Obama and his team think that “vetting” means showing up at the Chevy plant and sitting in the front seat of a sports car for a photo op.
