Pelosi agrees wholeheartedly with Obama’s decree that waterboarding is torture. Infact, waterboarding is so horrendous I’m sure she hasn’t been able to get the image of it out of her head ever since that briefing back in 2002. Every detail of that briefing must have been seared into her mind to the point of giving her nightmares and haunting her every waking moment…
Oh wait. That’s right, she didn’t remember the briefing when first asked about it. I guess that tells us all we need to know about her concern for the use of torture on those poor, helpless terrorists back in 2002.
The only reason Pres. Obama and the rest of these weasels are making such a big deal about “torture” now is to discredit the Bush administration. It’s not about values. The only “value” these people hold as absolute is their devine right to rule. Anyone who dares get in their way must be shamed and destroyed by any means possible.
There’s a new Pharaoh in Egypt. All monuments to the old pharaoh must be torn down and his name blotted out of the history books. That’s why Gitmo has to be closed and rebuilt at great expense somewhere else – because it’s a reminder of Bush and how he kept us safe.
Obama said he is going to “remake America.” First, he has to tear down everything that reminds us of the “old America”, and then he can remake America – in his own image.

I dont know about that. I havent researched it thoroughly but I dont think she was under oath when she said it. Credibility is one thing, but legal standing is another. Im sure shes played the game long enough to know where the line is drawn.

I read the comments on the Washington Times and someone asked why Nancy didn’t realize that the CIA might push ack on this. That’s a great question. A good Civil Servant learns to protect themselves by keeping records of when briefings took place and who was present (contrary to what you may think – CIA employees are Civil Servants just as though they worked for any other Executive Branch department). It’s just common sense. Especially if sensitive material is being discussed. There is an old saw in the government, “Never admit, always deny, make counter-allegations”. This axiom is easy to utilize when you have “contemperaneous notes” (excuse the spelling please). Notes taken at the time of a meeting are not considered hearsay and admissible in administrative and criminal courts. Once you’ve been a manager in the Government, you learn pretty quickly to keep the notes..
How Nancy was so stupid as to think there wouldn’t be a record of her attendance and approval at this briefing is beyond comprehension. So she threatens to prosecute the people who briefed her and then acts surprised when the notes come out?

Before I leave for the day – Lying and criminality 101:
In order for lying to be a crime, the lie must be material to a crime.
“Material” means your lie has to have an role in furthering the crime or cause a crime to be committed. Or, it could be material if it is used specifically to divert an investigator from finding the truth (which is obstruction of justice).
This is very simplistic and a dozen lawyers will jump on my statement to add to or correct it. But, very basically, this is what makes a “lie” usually referred to as “misrepresentation” in the law, a crime.
The Key to my point is that the lie itself must be about or in furtherance of, a crime. Lying about a meeting where no crime was committed or conspired to is a lie, but not a crime.
As much as I would like to see Nan behind bars, I would rather see her lose an election so solidly even her slimy DemoCommie lawyers can’t contest it.
