The most self-absorbed night in Washington (since the inaugural)

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 11, 2009 06:43 AM

I spent a blissful Mother’s Day weekend unplugged and away from the news. So if you’re looking for outrage, faux outrage, and extended commentary on all the narcissism and nastiness at the White House Correspondents Dinner, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

In a nutshell: Liberal comedian Wanda Sykes indulged in Palin-bashing, Rush Derangement Syndrome, and post-Bush/Cheney-induced psychosis while leftist journalists rubbed elbows with politicos and Tinseltown eye candy. They all Twittered and tittered and Flickr-ed and snickered together at various D.C. before, during, and after-parties. (There’s even an entire fanboy/gossip site now devoted to the event).

It was the most self-absorbed night in Washington. Since the inaugural, I mean.

Which means the Beltway press corps will spend at least another 24 hours yakking about it.

DISTRACTION!

Yeah, I think Obama is his own biggest fan. His inability to laugh at himself is testament to his immaturity. Given that immature people are generally behaviorally less stable than mature people, I think the “madman” theory of the presidency may be pretty accurate.

I read one of the links to that story on Drudge as well, regarding the same question 30. One of the articles gave a chance to ‘vote’ on the jokes in question…

    Mouths That Roared
What did you think of the jokes made by David Feherty and Wanda Sykes?

*Their comments were tasteless, and both should apologize.

*Feherty deserves punishment, but Sykes’ comments were fine considering the setting.

*It was all in good fun – neither should be reprimanded.

Notice anything missing? That’s right–none of the choices are ‘Feherty’s comments are ok–Sykes’ were not.’

Obama said it was “good diplomatic practice” to accept Chavez’s book, but it did not mean he would read it.
If it was “good diplomacy” to accept the gift, is it also good diplomacy to mock the gift? Can’t wait till Queen Elizabeth tells us about the nightmares she had after listening to The One’s iPod speeches.

Rush is, of course, only universally despised by you leftist “intellectuals”. Since divorce in this country is legal and “no-fault” through the neverending efforts of the left, your criticism on that aspect is a little peculiar (but then I’ve been divorced twice myself, so I guess I’m prejudiced). Claiming that he was “captured in a foreign country with a pocketful of blue pills” ignores the fact that they were legally prescribed painkillers. He was accused of doctor shopping – in Florida – although you may consider that a foreign country. Now there’s a crime worthy of internment in Guantanamo. Oh, and he’s lost over 40 pounds. How are you doing? I guess, given that more than likely he’s making your annual salary in about a day, that he’ll just have to live with you calling him fat, sweaty and stupid.

A local radio station played Bush’s comedy act at this dinner, and then played Obama’s. What a contrast between the two men! Bush poked fun at himself and Cheney, especially about the hunting accident, and it was very pleasant, good-natured and funny.

Obama, on the other hand, bashed Bush and made it all partisan and political, and if I cared about the guy at all, I would have been embarassed for him.

People who are full of themselves are not funny, and their attempts at humor make them look stupid and ugly without their even knowing it, which is fair payback, except for the fact that we have to endure them.

Let’s face it: most comedians that are held up as funny, are not.

That Obama fella sure is awful – he would so much more acceptable if he was like Rush (fat, stupid, white, divorced 3 times, addicted to drugs, a loud-mouth, sweaty, captured in a foreign country with a pocket full of blue pills, oh and, universally despised).

Oh, and Obama IS white and has a history of drug use. Pictures of him on vacation suggest a good deal of sweat on his godlike pecs. Does that make Rush OK now?

And one more thing (since we’re comparing Rush and Obama):

    History of charitable contributions/efforts

    Obama : ???
Rush: Leukemia and lymphoma telethon (for almost 18 years now); Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation

Personally, charity work doesn’t necessarily represent everything a person is or even accurately represent who they are; for example, some folks engage in charitable work for self-aggrandizement. Still, if you’re going to superficially compare the bad, it’s only fair to compare the good, too.

And you forgot loudmouth. But no, not until TEH ONE puts on a load of weight and gets three divorces (affairs and daliances don’t count. :) )

Not plagerizing – just regurgitating leftist talking points. Repeated as often as neccesary and no need for originality.

I love my country—what the hell country do you love–not the USA–unless you are like Michelle and are only now proud of it since it is going Socialist. Obama smoked dope, is a baby killer, a Chicago thug, a liar, hires tax cheats, and is an idiot without the TOTUS. Real cool dude eh.

Claiming that he was “captured in a foreign country with a pocketful of blue pills” ignores the fact that they were legally prescribed painkillers.

The little blue pills weren’t painkillers.

I don’t find anything O says funny. I can hardly watch him, period. He is from the gutter, his humour is from the gutter and so are his so called friends. Disgusting.

Obama lacks genuine warmth and concern. He’s all about himself. Don’t let the easy smile, the charm, the relaxed gait, or lip-service to genuine human concerns and emotions fool you. His humor really is awful. His devotion to left-wing ideology is cold, unfeeling, and total. We’ll see that in the months and years to come.

There’s the brains of a liberal in action… well what passes for action. First weasels like Jeannine Gerafellow call us racist because we protest congresses happy-a$$ spending to the tune of $1.8 trillion dollars (how she comes up with racism I’ll never know) Now a giant of mental gymnastics tries to equate a foreign born terrorist sympathizer corrupt Chicago politician… uh, I mean The President Of The United States with a radio talk show host.

What’s next la-la land lover? Showing us how great Nancy Pelosi is by comparing her to Sponge Bob?

Go get a clue and let the grown ups talk.
