The most self-absorbed night in Washington (since the inaugural)
I spent a blissful Mother’s Day weekend unplugged and away from the news. So if you’re looking for outrage, faux outrage, and extended commentary on all the narcissism and nastiness at the White House Correspondents Dinner, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
In a nutshell: Liberal comedian Wanda Sykes indulged in Palin-bashing, Rush Derangement Syndrome, and post-Bush/Cheney-induced psychosis while leftist journalists rubbed elbows with politicos and Tinseltown eye candy. They all Twittered and tittered and Flickr-ed and snickered together at various D.C. before, during, and after-parties. (There’s even an entire fanboy/gossip site now devoted to the event).
It was the most self-absorbed night in Washington. Since the inaugural, I mean.
Which means the Beltway press corps will spend at least another 24 hours yakking about it.

I saw it being reported on the local channel 7 news in Denver, last night. You would have thought they were reporting on Oscar night. There were red carpet photos of hollywierd lefties, sound bytes of the fowl mouthed comedian, and His Holiness, the President, howling in that big, toothy, dracula way that he does. The two talking head newsies were cooing and chortling at the jokes.

Yeah, I think Obama is his own biggest fan. His inability to laugh at himself is testament to his immaturity. Given that immature people are generally behaviorally less stable than mature people, I think the “madman” theory of the presidency may be pretty accurate.
I saw it yesterday on Drudge. Sykes is a nasty person who openly advocates the homosexual lifestyle. Not surprised by her, but for the record, I will never support anything she ever does. Isn’t a comedienne supposed to be funny?

Over the weekend golf analyst Feherty apologized for his joke about Nancy Pelosi. In my estimation it was funny and original (unlike our leftist friends). Why are lies and hatred ok from the left but humor not tolerated from the right?
I don’t find anything O says funny. I can hardly watch him, period. He is from the gutter, his humour is from the gutter and so are his so called friends. Disgusting.

Obama’s jokes were written by a couple of his frat boy speechwriters, David Axelrod, and a “team of joke writers to craft the punchlines.” That explains the lameness of most of the jokes, as when he joked that the book he received from Hugo Chavez was like receiving a copy of Peter Pan from a Somalia pirate dressed up as Captain Hook. Obama said it was “good diplomatic practice” to accept Chavez’s book, but it did not mean he would read it.
If it was “good diplomacy” to accept the gift, is it also good diplomacy to mock the gift? Can’t wait till Queen Elizabeth tells us about the nightmares she had after listening to The One’s iPod speeches.

She’s a supposed comedienne whose only real claim to fame was a failed show on FOX network (I think it lasted less than one season), and who is now playing second banana to Julia Louise Dreyfus on some CBS show that no one watches.

A local radio station played Bush’s comedy act at this dinner, and then played Obama’s. What a contrast between the two men! Bush poked fun at himself and Cheney, especially about the hunting accident, and it was very pleasant, good-natured and funny.
Obama, on the other hand, bashed Bush and made it all partisan and political, and if I cared about the guy at all, I would have been embarassed for him.
People who are full of themselves are not funny, and their attempts at humor make them look stupid and ugly without their even knowing it, which is fair payback, except for the fact that we have to endure them.
Let’s face it: most comedians that are held up as funny, are not.
Oh, and Obama IS white and has a history of drug use. Pictures of him on vacation suggest a good deal of sweat on his godlike pecs. Does that make Rush OK now?
