Culture of corruption alert: The Sanchez sisters
From the most ethical Congress ever, yet another investigation into Democrat cronyism. Sister, sister (via Roll Call):
The House ethics committee is reviewing whether the chamber’s rules were broken when Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) put three of Rep. Loretta Sanchez’s (D-Calif.) aides on her own payroll in late 2006 because of a budget shortfall in her sister’s office.
The shortfall, as the OC Register reported, was caused by one of Loretta’s aides, who used the congresswoman’s credit card to embezzle funds for pizza, groceries, and cab fare. Members cannot pay aides to work for offices other than their own, the paper notes.
Fun fact: The Sanchez sisters published a book together on how they have changed the way the Washington old boys’ network is run. The book features a forward by corruptocrat Nancy Pelosi. Cronies in skirts are still cronies.

But, lets get real! Pizza, a couple of plane tickets, some groceries and a taxi ride. How is that going to add up to the salaries of three congressional aids? Do they really work for a couple thousand dollars a year? I wonder!
Some unaccounted for cash has gone missing from the Sanchez budget account. I’ll get some money from my sister and cover the deficit. We’ll create a cover story, and we need someone to fall on her sword.
Don’t worry, your legal bills will be paid and we’ll make sure you only get a short probation at most. We’ll take care of your family and you’ll get a letter of recommendation when this all blows over. Maybe I can even bring one of your family members onto my staff and we’ll put money in an account for you. You’re young, you still have your whole life ahead of you, you’ll recover. But, you must never breath a word.

I think the real tragedy is that taxpayer funds were embezzled for PIZZA. And since it is in DC, one can safely hypothesize that it was really bad pizza. If my tax dollars were going toward embezzeling Lombardi’s or Ray’s Famous…I’d probably turn a blind eye. But you just know, being in DC they were freaking ordering Dominos or, at best, Papa Johns.

It’s hard to summon up the proper level of outrage without some kind of deviant sexual behavior and some really hard drugs. At the very least I would expect some kind of expensive holiday or something.

Loretty Sanchez ( the first one in Congress) was my congressperson. A lovely person. She praised Iraq and its currupt leaders- heard her at the Arabic Fair in Garden Grove do so( when ole Saddam was in power in 2001). She also declared love for Castro (with proof of it- she was kissing him) AND THIS:She was no where around when Pornography was in the Anaheim Union High School District in 2000 and 2001 ( more than likely still there due to a weak school board- caved in to ACLU). OH She just LOVED CLINTON….Oh another thing when she won the first time ( over Dornan) she made use of the illegal Votes( not just the dead but illegal immigrants) in Santa Ana, CA- there is a currupt precinct there that registers illegals on a regular basis- it went to court but I guess there was too much corruption there to make the case…Oh I don’t miss Orange County or Sanchez- good grief, they almost elected a judge that was involved in Child porn before we left….( conservatives had to do a write in vote to prevent that from happening)…Orange County is not really conservative anymore- has gone down hill fast due to disintrest by conservatives. Let that be a warning to the conservative states…
and here is part of the problem- a strong Conservative ran against her( couple of times) but the Republican party BARELY supported her ( too conservative for themyou knoow)- last name was Coronado- great lady- fought corruption at Anaheim Union HIGH SCHOOL district as well. Yep, that was the House election for CA (47th?) in 1996 against Bob Dornan. She [supposedly] won by 980 votes or so. Dornan challenged the results implying that large numbers of voting irregularities occurred (as in illegal aliens voting in US Federal Elections – eg. felonies). Of course, nothing was done about it… sigh.

Actually, I didn’t mean that at all. Christians are not good because of “fear of eternal damnation”! Jesus came to this earth to save us from that. As humans, we will continually sin and do wrong. But we are forgiven. All I am saying is that Christians don’t want to disappoint their God and Savior and try to do the right thing. We fail quite often. As far as answers to prayers, I would say one must consider the idea that you unconsciously only notice when prayers are answered and rationalize when they aren’t. I am quite certain it has never been objectively proven that prayer has any effect beyond a “placebo” effect (which can be quite powerful).
What is the offer again exactly? That I should accept that the creator of the universe made himself incarnate as a human being and sacrificed himself to himself thereby forgiving me of any sins I had committed including those that I was born with?

Sorry you took it that way. I meant that having a religious belief structure makes a person more conscious of doing wrong…that old “conscience” thing. If you were to compile statistics of just politicians, say, I believe you would find a VAST majority of the corrupt ones are non-believers. I am not sure how you can prove someone is a non-believer, however, since many profess to be Christian, but actually are hypocrites. Obama immediately comes to mind. He says he is Christian, but is completely corrupt. I don’t believe for one minute he is really a Christian.

I have come to the conclusion that nothing ticks off MM. The TOU is seldom (if ever) enforced as far as I can tell. We are off-topic, yes, but at least we are being polite. Some friends of mine went to a Latino lawyers meeting some years ago and heard Loretta speak. First, she spoke in Spanish (don’t lawyers understand English?) and then spent the whole time running down “white people.” They said it was really ugly. They walked out.
So how come gringos get the brunt of how bad Europeans are, but it was the Spanish that really committed massive amounts of genocide in both North AND South America in addition to having slaves? And the Spaniards raped/pilaged the resources to send back to Spain, which is why we are still uncovering sunken treasure ships to this day.
Plus we English/Northern Euros wouldnt even be here if it wasnt for the the Spanish/Italians.
