They’re sick of Harry Reid, too

Dingy Harry Reid’s home state constituents are growing as weary of him as the rest of us.
Hope for change lives:
Nearly half of Nevadans have had enough of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid as the powerful Democrat heads into his re-election campaign, a new Las Vegas Review-Journal poll finds.
About a third of the state’s voters would re-elect Reid if the 2010 election were held today, according to the poll, but 45 percent say they would definitely vote to replace him. Seventeen percent would consider another candidate.
The findings are echoed by another poll question about Reid’s popularity that finds the four-term incumbent to be a polarizing figure in his home state.
Half of Nevada voters had an unfavorable view of Reid, while 38 percent had a favorable view and 11 percent a neutral opinion.
The statewide poll of 625 Nevadans who vote regularly was conducted by telephone last week by Washington-based Mason-Dixon Polling & Research Inc. for the Review-Journal. It carries a margin of error of 4 percentage points in either direction.
Reid’s approval ratings at home have been subpar for years, particularly since he ascended to Democratic leader in 2004 and to majority leader in 2006…The poll finds Nevadans are bullish on President Barack Obama even as they are unhappy with Reid. Fifty-five percent of those polled viewed Obama favorably, while 30 percent saw him unfavorably and 15 percent were neutral on the new Democratic president, who carried Nevada in last year’s presidential election by 12 percentage points after years of Republican dominance in the state.

Wow! Imagine that! Half of Nevada’s voters are fidiots.
That’s great!
Now, if only the Republican Party can get it’s act together….
Not surprising. The guy is an arrogant, stone-walling, jackass.
Well then, what are the ODDS he’s out?
Who are the people with a neutral opinion of Harry Reid? What does it take to make some people take a side?
I hope that the great state of Nevada gets rid of the useless guy the next election.
Plenty of conservatives leaving bankrupt Califruity and moving to state-tax free Nevada.
Now that’s a “glass half empty” moment if there ever was one.
This is another indication that Pres BO is somehow managing to continue voting “present” while Congress takes the credit/blame for what’s going on in DC.
Take off the blinder America, it’s all of them.
Polls showed Murtha was unpopular too. How’d that end up?
Well, the GOP got rid of Daschle and it did exactly NO good. I don’t mind dumping Reid but that alone won’t do any good or bring any real change in DC. They are all committed to ever-expanding, big government paid for by us!
Appearantly there is more out of Nevada too:
When his predecessor Tom Daschle got voted out of office, the GOP was very effective in targeting its resources in getting it done. The current GOP is at war with conservatives and can’t spare the resources to unseat one of their own just because he lives across the aisle.
I am surprised the voters still have a positive view of bho with his statements cratering Las Vegas. OH, I forgot, UNIONS! I hope dingy gets tossed out, he is a horrible little man.
Nan too.
L
I wish I were the one to think of it, but…
I think all of the U.S. House and Senate should wear NASCAR-type uniforms, with stickers and patches showing who their “sponsors” are.
That’s brilliant! Then we can reelect them based on brand loyalty, which is more to recommend them than we have now.
I dont think there would be enough room.
You’re onto something Hangfire. But how do we get around George Will’s dress code?
But there’s all that room on the limos and airplanes for stickers also.
Because all those who want to vote social services and “income redistribution” for themselves live in heavily democratic metropolitan areas, they’ll vote Harry back in office. The small towns and rural areas don’t have a chance.
Look at the state of Illinois. The down staters in the small towns and rural areas do not support most of the liberal ideas the larger cities like Chicago and East St. Louis vote for. Yet they’ve been powerless to change anything for decades.
Look at the Red versus Blue on the USA map. The blue has very little geographic coverage yet we get stuck with the likes of Obama and his ilk.
Okay, it’s settled then!
Togas and sandals for wear in Senate and House chambers, and “sponsor” stickers on their limos and planes.
Oh, and they should all take fiddle lessons from Nero.
I heard this same thing about Russell and John Murtha, I am not about to start jumping for joy until Harry Reid is thrown out of the senate onto his liberal backside.
NEVADA, throw him out!
Seeing is believing….the Murtha vote is a prime example. “Moderate/Neutral” Nevadans need to figure out which side of the issues they’re on. Want change? Get rid of these homesteading politicans like Reid.
Perhaps they should thank there sponsors when they give their re-election win speeches.
And there is the fly in the ointment. Hopefully by election time Obama’s glow starts to dim in Nevada or his stumping for the man may well put him over. Just an awful lots of these battles are won or lost by slim margins.
“but 45 percent say they would definitely vote to replace him” is too close, way too close.
This War for a Nations Soul needs to be fought 24/7 and on every viable front. Let them stay in power long and Bill Ayeres WILL be able to build his camps. These people dream of an American Katyn Woods.
All the GOP candidate will have to run on is “change” and he’ll win….as long as he’s a nice personable guy.
Obama……..Carter redux.
I don’t know. I just don’t see Fred Astaire wearing a toga and sandals. It IS a classic look though. I’ll have to run this past George Will.
Hey kids, dad’s in the newspaper!! Except they used ‘45 percent’ instead of my name.
I see a couple of problems here;
1) California moonbats have fled to Nevada to escape Cali taxes
2) Another moonbat is likely to take his place
The good news is that they won’t have leadership credentials. This could go either way!
Oh, and by the way, when are the moonbats going to learn they bring their problems with them?
We don’t have to worry about Princess Pelosi’s return to power, her entire district is full of her moonbattiness!
NO, 1/2 OF ALL NEVADA VOTERS AREN’T FIDIOTS, CALIFORNIA LIBS AREN’T SATISFIED SCREWING UP THEIR STATE, THEY HAVE NOW DECIDED TO SCREW UP WASHINGTON, OREGON, ARIZONA, COLORADO, NEW MEXICO, AND NOW NEVADA. ELECTION FRAUD WEST COAST STYLE.
That’s a Roger! I saw that happen up in Bremerton, Washington. A flood of refugees from California in the early nineties ruined Kitsap county and the surrounding area. Of course, Seattle had already gone over to the Dark Side.
They’re like a virus. They bring bad symptoms and eventually destroy their host.
I am a bit on the lucky side. I live down in Yelm and we are kind of an anomaly. We are a red dot surrounded by blue and so far have resisited the influx of Cali liberals (it might have to do with all the retired and active duty military living here).
Most sane people find Dobby the house elve (Reid) as distasteful as Jar Jar Blinks (Pelosi)! It appears that most sane people can only sit and hope that they soon end up on the ash heap of history. Until then, (munching popcorn) more cheese Gromit!
Hey, it isnt nice to insult house elves by comparing them to Reid!
b-cat: Problem is, all those patches on their uniform are mounted on velcro (like the patches on our flight suits) and the stickers on their limos are stuck (not painted) on. Both can be peeled off and swapped out in a NY minute!
Hangfire: I say let them legislate in the nude — they would NOT be seen on TV or anywhere else and their business would be complete in a day!
I know, the visual image is enough to turn the strongest of stomachs!
They are the ones that are not sure if he is a basketball star or American Idol contestant.
Is the Maharishi still there?
You have that right, it’s all about them and how they can make more Americans reliant on the giverment. You know, the democrapic way.
Yeah hangfire she is (no place is perfect), but it is somewhat entertaining to watch the circus of clowns roll into town every year for the retreat.
Maybe Reid can switch parties before the primary so he can at least make it to the general election…wait…um.
Never mind. That would never work…
I understand Communist Party USA is looking to expand its influence in Nevada and is seeking candidates. Seems a perfect fit to me.: )
Truesoldier, Hangfire: I was born in Aberdeen and grew up in Olympia/Tumwater. I’d love to go back and retire in Washington one day but the thought of dealing with the new politics there is horrifying. In the 60s the leanings were mostly conservative Democrat, now I guess it’s a blend of stalinism and euro-style socialism.
Maybe, but a lot of Californians like me, who aren’t moonbats are also looking to move there because of taxes. So, hopefully enough of us that move there will eventually neutralize the libtards in Nevada and restore it back to being a red state. I personally think this whole thing about NV turning blue is a very temporary thing. It’s the “slobbering love affair” thing with Obama, that will be very short lived.
A one timer.
Those people with no opinions are the brainless twits who don’t have a clue who Harry Reid even is. Any time you see the “no opinion” option, you know it is for people who keep their head firmly up their a$$ when they aren’t watching MTV.
Red Dog, It still has areas that are gems, but you are right about the politics.
Although I did have a great night last night watching 24 up in Snoqualmie with other like minded individuals all put on by our local Conservative Talk Radio station’s Kirby Wilbur Show.
Hard to tell, but I can narrow it down to somewhere between 0 and 100%
Actually everybody quit watching MTV 20 years ago, when it quit being about music. Its just a myth of the older generation who caught onto a buzzword from a long time ago.
Kinda like still seeing a retiree wearing a Members-Only jacket at Wal-Mart
On the democrat side its easy. Just look for the union label.
Unfortunately Harry old boy has a huge campaign war chest. Not sure if it will work this time around though. He is a miserable man.
That face — it’s so severe and condescending — not sure what it is, but I would say it’s that of a soulless, dictatorial statist.
I’ll believe it when I see him removed. Until then, I’ll shrug my shoulders and say that I’ve seen that before.
Time to pull out the BDS card.
Seattle: Only a 20 minute drive from the State of Washington in any direction Seattle?
And San Francisco does have a neat chocolate company-the good thing is you can get the chocolate to GO.
Outside of that the Left Coast pretty much sucks. But I have been told NOT to hope for a really big tsunami so I won’t-unless Harry Reid and Pelosi are there at the same time.
As a Nevadan I can tell you that most of the people here who like Harry are the transplanted Californians who want to make this great state Calivada. We have a good chance of Daschleing him in 2010.
Well, who have they got to replace him? Would they go GOP? Could just end up with something worse. And who replaces him as majority leader? Doesn’t seem to be good news until these questions are answered.
Harry Reid, like all ultra liberal Democrats, has NEVER done the right thing for the American people.
They always do what politically benefits themselves.
Toss the little prick out!!
They actually make the chocolate in the East Bay and ship it over to the city. But they do make an excellent Banana Split there.
OT
Im going to start taking a shot every time I post the word “actually”
OK back over to twitter… At this very moment, Im monitoring a guy ascend the last few meters of the Mt Everest summit and another guy on the Space Shuttle
I missed the Kidney Transplant yesterday though.
OT (sry!)
FYI.. He summitted Everest 5 minutes before I made the last post!
@SPOTScott
Memo to Reid:
Your war is lost. Bye now.
Actually, you missed a golden opportunity to say actually! That’s two shots for me! (hic)
ACK! There are too many Harry Reid images on this page! You’re going to make us all need therapy, Mrs. Malkin.
Drudge is now reporting that Reid had a gaffetastic day. Even Bozo the VP never pulled a trifecta in one press conference.
You know, actually you’re right (hic, hic) which is why I actually missed it..
Unfortunately playing ‘6 Degrees of the Blogosphere’ isnt as much fun
My father overuses a certain word that I never noticed until 20 yrs ago when a friend of mine pointed it out.
I still really, really need to tell my brother to tell him to stop.
(Is there a rule for how long a nose hair must grow before its OK to tell your parents?)
I still believe that a certain percentage of a politicians vote should come from the national population since what that person does effects a whole lot more than the local constituents.
That is why Murtha keeps getting re-elected because he sends the bacon home. No matter that he is screwing the rest of the Country. The locals are only worried about their local wallets.
Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term Limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits. Term limits.
Harry Reed’s home state of Nevada is not only battling the world wide recession but the one inflicted by Obama’s mouth when God Jr. began badmouthing corporations that hold meetings in Nevada. Tourism to Las Vegas has plummeted through the floor. And Harry Reed has done NOTHING to improve the matter.
Obama has refused to meet with the governor of Nevada and the mayor of Las Vegas over Obama’s lip problem (they won’t stop flapping), and Harry Reed has done NOTHING to help his constituents.
Dipstick Joe Biden is a walking security leak; Nixon had resigned for less, and Harry Reed has done NOTHING to remove that jerk from office.
If the Republicans can’t knock off this wounded duck we’re going to have to hand Michael Steele his walking papers.
that a third of the voters would still vote for the hemorrhoid is truly amazing, they must complete morons or, there can be no or, they are morons.
This is pretty bizarre, but one thing at a time. First Reid in ‘10, then Obama in ‘12!
Until those very same Nevadans realize they won’t be receiving their “free” government benefits.
Real sacrifice is giving up benefits from the government in exchange for greater freedom, more free market capitalism, lower taxes and smaller, less intrusive government while being responsible for oneself and one’s family.
