Billionaire to New York: Screw you

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 20, 2009 11:23 AM

Billionaire Tom Golisano, founder of Paychex, is leaving high-taxing, entrepreneur-undermining New York for Florida. He penned a kiss-off in the NYPost today:

Politicians like to talk about incentives — for businesses to relocate, for example, or to get folks to buy local. After reviewing the new budget, I have identified the most compelling incentive of all: a major tax break immedi ately available to all New Yorkers. To be eligible, you need do only one thing: move out of New York state.

Last week I spent 90 minutes doing a couple of simple things — registering to vote, changing my driver’s license, filling out a domicile certificate and signing a homestead certificate — in Florida. Combined with spending 184 days a year outside New York, these simple procedures will save me over $5 million in New York taxes annually.

By moving to Florida, I can spend that $5 million on worthy causes, like better hospitals, improving education or the Clinton Global Initiative. Or maybe I’ll continue to invest it in fighting the status quo in Albany. One thing’s certain: That money won’t continue to fund Albany’s bloated bureaucracy, corrupt politicians and regular special-interest handouts.

How did the state get to this point? By spending, spending and spending some more.

Going, going, going Galt. Who’s next?

Somehow, all that makes it conducive to the people who keep America’s economy going.

If you meant the people who gave us the dot-com bubble and the housing crisis bubble, you got a point, ace.

The people who keep the economy going are the people OUTSIDE of Silicon Valley, New Yak City, and Washington DC.

Glad to hear you admitting to “lock-step” liberal voting…though it would be much more accurate to say “goose-step” voting patterns.

Well it hasn’t done diddly for California’s economy, high taxes have taken that state so far into the red that only a miracle can save it.

And as for the American economy, the Feds came out today saying unemployment and declines will be much worse than previously thought, and allowing the Bush tax cuts to expire will only compound the problem.

You just cannot be taken seriously anymore.

    As the bumper sticker says:

“NOT A NATIVE TEXAN, BUT I GOT HERE AS SOON AS I COULD!!!”

Keep your liberal ideas in the cesspools of NY, NJ, MD, VA, CA, OR, etc….(you know where you are). Texans have given the liberals Austin, but if they get too uppity, they can ‘spect an asswhuppin’ to bring ‘em back into line.

We welcome evacuees from the socialist paradises of the coasts…so long as they are willing to assimilate and not pollute.

Texas is a big place. If you come here, come here to be free, and stay that way.

The sad part about Golisano’s resignation from NY is that he intends to support all of the very same liberal ideas that caused him to move out of NY in the first place. When I hear hospitals not new ideas for advances in medical technology, when I hear education not vouchers and competition, and when I hear Clinton Global Initiative not individual freedom initiatives, I realize that Golisano doesn’t really understand that he is the problem not the solution.
