The Gitmo Six Democrats: Roll call vote
I noted earlier this afternoon that the Senate voted 90-6 to deny Obama funding for his Gitmo closure plans.
Here’s the roll call vote. The Gitmo Six Democrats:
Durbin (D-IL)
Harkin (D-IA)
Leahy (D-VT)
Levin (D-MI)
Reed (D-RI)
Whitehouse (D-RI)

Is there 6 more vacent cells at Gitmo? Wait the terrorists would not want them there, ship the Dems back to the U.S.
Looks like Rhode Island is the winner and can have them all. Make sure you keep them in your state.
No surprise Turban Durbin is among them. According to him our military (and here he insults myself and my wife as well) are jack-booted thugs terrorizing civilians.
Durbin??? Harkin???? Leahy???? You sure?
Hey, maybe pressure from home is beginning to work? The other three, I don’t know, but this is encouraging!
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, but it seems to me that refusing the funding to CLOSE Gitmo is a good thing…..?
You’re right. You are misunderstanding. These 6 voted FOR funding the closing of Gitmo.
Isn’t this just the Dems in Congress providing cover for Obama so he can tell his faithful “Hey, I tried to close Gitmo. Congress wouldn’t fund the closure.” You judge him by his intentions and not his actions?
Second that. Looks like we have a winner in the Gitmo lottery.
What’s that Senators Reed and Whitehouse, you have reasons why they can’t be relocated to Rhode Island?
Oh. I see.
Dagny what they voted no on was stripping the money from the bill. In other words by voting no they wanted the money for closing GITMO to stay in the bill (luckily it failed and now the one does not have the money needed to close GITMO for now).
Of course Feinstein is saying that we should bring the detainees to US. I say send to her house if she wants them in the US so bad
My scumbag senator Dick El Turbin voted to go forward with the funding?
Color me shocked.
//sarc.
Wonder why DiFi didn’t vote for the funding to close Gitmo if she is so set on incarcerating the terrorists in the US?
Here’s the best part: Specter steps up to defend Pelosi against the CIA. A little too much scotch-and-water boarding senator?
I’d be in favor of closing Gitmo… as long as they had one of the more remote Alleutian Islands prepared to receive the guests.
Michigan has had high out-migration the last few years, I think they would be a perfect candidate for housing these terrorists if Obama doesn’t admit he’s wrong.
Put them in Dearborn, MI, and there would be little change in the demographics, just a few more jihadists.
Now let’s watch the “I hate America” money pour into their coffers.
Put the detainees in RI we need an increase in the State IQ average as the voters have displayed by electing the 2 idiots we have for Senators.
Send those darling gitmo rop to stay with these D’s. Bet they would not want them in their home. People voting for them, give a hard think when you do so.

Actually, that rate is pretty good, compared to recidivist coming out of American prisons depending on their crime.
Still…
My senator, Durbin, votes to close Gitmo. I wish that was a surprise.
And cubbiegal, go Cubbies!
O/T but the feel good story of the day.
Happy birthday to K. sonofdy and A. sonofdy. 09:30 this morning.

I’m actually shocked there weren’t more that supported it. Perhaps people are starting to see through the Number Two that is Barak Obacle.
Enjoy it while you can. It’s gonna be in short supply for a few years.
ouY tog ti ssab sdrawkca. Those six voted to fund Gitmo’s closing.
Remember that these jihadi will be RELEASED when they get to the US. They will be subject to US laws and one of those is the use of illegally obtained evidence. With all the evidence that will be thrown out and all the evidence that we can not share due to intelligence concerns, there will not be enough evidence to convict these guys of anything big. They may be convicted of some small things and released for time served.
They can then leave Rhode Island, stop by Dearborn Michigan for weapons, bombs, and supplies and head into NYC or LA for suicide missions. I got your recidivism for you. Ka-boom!
…fitting justice would be for these clown senators to have these Gitmo Goons be forced to live in their neighborhood, aand their home/property be stripped of real fences and replaced with virtual ones!
Let’s see how they’d like that kind of “outreach”..
Congrates to mom, dad and grand parents, may the girls be blessed with the best of good health and a free life in America.
There you go, proof positive that Botox Nancy is guilty of lying. All I’m waiting for is Joe Biden’s take on it. I need a good laugh.
What? Only 6 Senators want to spend a fortune to close a perfectly good prison? I thought the numbers would be much higher than that. Isn’t spending billions on a needless project right up their alley?
Have the other 90 Senators even thought of the stimulus that would result from bringing these terrorists into our country? Think of all the new security jobs that would open up just to guard these guys and escort them to and from prison and the courts each day. Then there’s all those lawyer jobs that would be created to defend them during years of trials and endless appeals. And think of how the sales of home alarm systems would go way up in areas around the prisons and courts where they will be housed and tried.
The benefits are just too many for such a low risk endeavor. I really think the 6 Senators who voted for closing Gitmo deserve to bring the benefits of all this stimulus to their states first. And second in line should be the “santuary cities” of this country. They have proven themselves unwilling to put the safety of their own citizens above the greater values of social justice and diversity. They, too, should be rewarded.
Now, it’s just a rumor that prisons will have to release other inmates to make room. It’s just a rumor that these terrorists will spend their time in prison spreading hate and recruiting other inmates to their cause. It’s just a rumor that Islamic terrorists and pirates around the world will kidnap Americans and demand the release of their buddies from our prisons. And it’s just a rumor that lawyers will act as go-betweens to get messages to and from coconspirators on the outside. (I know messages are just words but even ACLU lawyers wouldn’t be that crazy for free speech.)
Baseless rumors are no reason to hold up spending on a totally unnessary project. It didn’t stop them from spending Billions on bailouts for failing companies. It didn’t stop them from spending Trillions on wasteful Stimulus and Porkulus projects. Now, suddenly they balk at closing Gitmo and building a figurative “bridge from nowhere” to bring the terrorists home? What has become of our Senators today?

Despicable!
We had the chance to replace Carl Levin back in 2008 with “conservative” opponent, Michigan state House Representative Jack Hoogendyk, but between the lack of decent reporting from our local ObamaMedia, and the lack of support from the GOP, Jack didn’t stand a chance.
As reported about their one debate:
The two differed on last month’s rescue plan for the financial industry. Hoogendyk called it bad legislation that puts taxpayers on the hook to save “Wall Street fat cats and big-shot bankers.” Levin said his vote to support the bailout wasn’t easy, but that “we had to act” to protect the pensions and retirement savings of Michigan families and the free up the credit markets so businesses could borrow money.
Jack didn’t get a bit of assistance from Michigan GOP chairman Saul [I love J.M.] Anuzis until the last months of the campaign, yet Saul sure did work his arse off to give us McLame. We didn’t even get a single lawn sign, nor any bumper stickers to advertise for him. This is my main reason to stop my contributions to the republican party.
Remember the name. Saul Anuzis is no friend to conservatives.
Pres Obama should have a plan on the detainees will be dealt with, how, and where before Gitmo is closed. He put the cart before the horse on this one.
Heh reminds me of spiderman, when a horde of super villains teamed up. THey called themselves the “sinister six”

Lovely! Blessings to all!
Split the detainee relocation to Chicago, Iowa, Michigan, Vermont and Rhode Island.
That way Obama can fulfil his promise to close the Gitmo.
Detainees get fair hearing in the US courts.
Allah willing, they may get a US residency and full welfare benefits.
Who knows, with the looming amnesty, they might get legal status and possibility to vote Democrats once the gain citizenship.
And the whole country lives happily ever after.
Little late on this…but CONGRATS sonofdy!!!
Which one did you name after uncle chap?
I do feel it’s my duty to point out, however, that when the zombie invasion begins, infant twins will probably slow you down. But don’t dwell on that. Enjoy them until they eventually become your downfall.
Since the vote was 90-6 and a Minnesota seat is still up in the air, who were the remaining three who didn’t vote?
I’m surprised that the two idiots from New Mexico voted the way they did.
WTG sonofdy!!! spam away. I will be doing the same in a few day with Grandson on the way!!!
Congrats!!!
