Bozo the VP passes the hat for “My friend Arlen”

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 21, 2009 10:14 AM

A reader forwards a DNC solicitation sent out this morning in Bozo the VP’s name:

Three weeks ago, my friend Senator Arlen Specter added one more feat to his long and impressive career — he became a Democrat.

Over the years, we’ve certainly had our disagreements. During that time, however, Arlen has been my friend, my confidant, and my partner in enacting many pieces of significant legislation.

For more than 25 years, we’ve ridden the train together back to Wilmington and Philadelphia. We’ve had some great debates and discussions on the train — and gotten to know each other so well — that it gives me great pleasure to be able to work even more closely with Arlen now.

His independence, integrity, and piercing intellect will continue to be a tremendous asset to the people of Pennsylvania, and now, to the Democratic caucus in the Senate.

I know that he’ll keep up his great work on issues ranging from cancer research funding to global warming, deficit control to immigration reform — and in our coming debate to reform America’s health care system.

Thousands of you have already written messages of support, welcoming Arlen to the party, and he was tremendously pleased to receive them.

I know that once you come to know him like I do, you’ll be just as happy as I am to have him.

Thanks,
Vice President Joe Biden

Let’s see.. “Independence” (euphemism for “political expediency”), “piercing intellect” (invisible to the naked eye), integrity (a non-entity if there ever was one). Seems like this pretty much sums up the political hack that Specter is, and how well he’ll fit in with the current crop of Democrat hacks like Biden, et al, who wouldn’t recognize “integrity” or “piercing intellect” if they hit them in the face.

Not yet, unfortunately. I’m saving my celebration for when he’s actually no longer holding public office of any kind.

Did that solicitation come with a pre-paid return envelope? If so, there’s a 300 pound flywheel for an engine generator here. I’ll just tape it on that and send it back.

Another good argument for term limits.

    .

Absolutely. It’s a red flag to me when a Dem calla a Republican a “friend, confidant, and partner”.

Any other Republican in public office so described by a Democrat needs to be replaced. We don’t need opposing parties members to be best buds while in office.

How does one who doesn’t know anything and one who doesn’t stand for anything have a debate? God help me, I’d shoot myself if I happened to overhear such a pointless exercise in talking in circles.

In Biden’s opinion, Rosie O’Donnell probably has a “piercing intellect” as well.

I have always been puzzled about Obama’s choice of Biden as vice president. Reading this thread sparked a Machiavellian idea. Biden may be Obama’s protection against his removal from office. If Obama turns out to be an usurper, would America look the other way rather than accept Biden as our president? If we chose Biden against the usurper, then Biden would be our punishment.

Good point. I also think Obama chose Biden b/c Biden makes him look wise and sophisticated. It definitely wasn’t b/c he was SO popular with the Dem base.

Like Colin Powell, I thought Specter became a Democrat a long, long time ago.

Seriously, EV-REE-BODY knows Specter is one of the best examples of the selfish, self-centered politicians that we tea partyers and 9/12ers are fed up with!

Is this another Biden Blunder? Wasn’t Specter a Dem BEFORE he became a Repub? (or rather, put an (R) after his name for political expediency)
