Waxman clueless about his cap&trade bill: “You’re asking me?!”

By Michelle Malkin  •  May 21, 2009 11:10 PM

Democrat Henry Waxman, primary sponsor of the radical cap&trade/national eco-tax bill in the House, can’t answer basic questions about the legislation’s details. And his speed-reader wasn’t around to bring old Waxy up to speed in time to rescue him from this gasbaggy gaffe.

“You’re asking me?”

Kids often get F’s when they use Cliffs Notes to improvise their book reports. Legislators should be getting an F for relying on Cliffs Notes to comprehend the bills they supposedly author. We add rusty bolts and rotting limbs to this Frankenstein bureaucracy that strangles us, yet many Americans want a slow cheek-to-cheek dance with the Monster. Baffling.

Any member of Congress that says s/he hasn’t “read the bill” s/he is about to ram down our throats should be jailed until they DO read the bill. We wouldn’t have half the crap in DC that we do if those we ELECT would actually take the time to read what they are voting on–don’t have time then the VOTE is NO. Common sense—How hard is that???

My disdain for Waxman is only overshadowed by my disdain for anyone who would ever vote for him.He says that he relies on the scientists on the IPCC.This only demonstrates his ignorance(just like everything else I’ve ever heard him say), in that the IPCC panel is not made up of scientists, but a group of politicians, environmentalists and scientists. On a panel of 2500,approximately 800 were scientists, many of whom have disavowed the Pannel’s conclusions, because the Panel misrepresented those scientists reasoned research. The IPCC has been sued by some of the scientists,to have those scientists names removed from the IPCC reports.Waxman is a complete MORON.If he wanted a scientific view on the subject of Globull Warming he should read the Oregon Petition, which was signed by approximately 30,000 scientists.

You should have included a longer clip. The only thing we hear Waxman say here is that he “relies on the scientists”. Republicans rely on science too, when it suits their political agenda.

If democrats truly acknowledged science, gay marriage, abortion and embryonic stem-cell research would be illegal and they would all support gun rights.

But, of course, when you’re Jeffery Immelt, Jeff Zucker and Al Gore, there’s millions and millions to be made while dumming down American college students and kids so it makes it easier to achieve.

But hey, if you want to be a subservient, blind bat to the whims of the liberal elite, lgm, that’s your problem, not ours.

Yeah, where’s my radon detector, it might need new batteries. It was anthropogenic wasn’t it – cave men farts being released from the earth’s core? The details are hazy…

It is too frigging bad that congress just cannot find the time to read or write the bills they are sponsoring and voting on. But can you imagine these same people around heavy machinery, on cattle drives, trying to hang steel, as locomotive engineers, or nuclear reactor operators? Oh God what a nightmare.

Aside from politics…Henry Waxman is truly an unpleasant man to have to look at, or as my Father used to say, “he certainly has a face for radio.”

Back to politics, isn’t Waxman the same pantload who opened up a website, back in 2001, that asked his constituents for “any dirt” on Enron…while caring nothing about any “dirt” on Global Crossing, or the satellite company that Clinton authorized to sell U.S. aerospace technology secrets to China, or other companies, with crooked books, who were large donors to the Democrat Party?

    I thought so.
