San Francisco Chronicle plays matchmaker for anti-Prop. 8 protesters
The San Francisco Chronicle’s Joe Garofoli is providing a helpful public service for angry, anti-Prop. 8 demonstrators looking for companionship. He’s just published hook-up instructions from “progressive techies” on how to locate the nearest protest (hat tip: JWF):
For those not in San Francisco or LA to celebrate/mourn Tuesday’s Prop 8 ruling, the progressive techies over at CREDO Mobile offer a way to find the nearest pro-same sex marriage rally by using SMS.
Here’s how: “Just text in the word RALLY along with your zip code to our CREDO shortcode: 27336 (it spells out CREDO on a non-smartphone).”
The CREDOers walk us through it:
1. Go to “compose SMS”
2. Key in the shortcode 27336 where you would normally put a phone number.
3. Type in the following to the message area:rally 91102
4.If live in Fresno and you text that we’ll SMS you the following info:
Prop 8 Rally in Fresno Tue.@6pm. Meet at Fresno City Hall, 2600 Fresno Street. Questions: ca-fresno@marriageequality.org -CREDO Mobile & Courage Campaign
If you live in Bakersfield and you text rally 93306 into 27336 you find out there are actually three rallies:
Prop 8 Rally in Bakersfield Tue@5pm. 3 locations: Mall View & Mt. Vernon, OR Outback Steakhouse Stockdale Hwy, OR Rosedale and Coffee. Questions: wlwedd@aol.com
Nope, the paper did NOT provide similar services for Tea Party activists. But Garofoli — an Anderson Cooper wannabe, apparently — provided plenty of derisive commentary about “teabagging.”
Bias? What liberal bias?

Thanks for the HT, Michelle. BTW, it’s an absolute meltdown in the comments in some of the related stories over there.
Next time Howie Kurtz is tut-tutting bloggers for some comments left on their sites he can have a look at the filth streaming in over there.
If all these gays are so upset at the out come of the court ruling, get their funds together and buy the state of CA and they do as they dang well please.

And let the games begin.
I’m guessing again, that the targets will be Mormons, Catholics, Jews. . .Black Christians and Muslims will be avoided.
Off-Topic: Democrat Senator Sics FBI on Tea-Party participant as “potential terrorist.”
This is what should be replayed over and over again. Whether you “like it or not”, you lost. Deal with it.
Socky – that’s danged scary. I’m always writing the critters and get fumed when their answers fail to even come close to what my quiry was about. I’m sending your link to everybody – including my gardener. If the writer made no threats (other than not supporting him for future election), used no profanity or slurs against his person or family – there is simply no excuse on the senator’s part.
To which I would add, “Newspaper, what’s a newspaper?”
I just listened to a White House spokeswoman reply to a reporter asking her if they expect Sotomayor’s confirmation to go smoothly. It was interesting that she chose to frame her answer in terms of “the usual right wingers” instead of Republicans. In fact, she referred to Republican senators as being fair minded.
Speaks volumes about what is wrong with Republicans being at war with their conservative base. They are now hiding behind the Democrats’ skirts while leaving the actual attacks to non-elected has-beens like Colin Powell.
It is going to come to more drastic action anyway–let the Left rail-let their newspapers and TV stations fail. Prepare for the day of greater action.
Joe Garofoli? When the San Francisco Chronicle folds he can get a job at a bath house-or the Supreme Court I imagine.
PP, does Mayor Newsome remind you of ODopey, like he does me, only white? O, oh, can I say that word, white, or am I a racist?
Teabagging in the streets. I can see it now, revealed in its entirety on Rachel Maddow’s and Keith Olbermann’s shows tonight. With interviews and closeups of angry REAL teabaggers. Hmm.
Maybe Keith Olbermann could hold a class on exactly HOW to teabag properly, and call it a “public service” too. Get lots of “street cred” in San Fran for that one.

You can only say ‘white’ if you’re a hispanic female that’s just been nominated to the Surpreme Court, and only if it points out how lacking in values and ethics those ‘whiteys’ are.
My old English teacher would just slap me for the construction of that last paragraph.
If the protesters behave with the same violence as before, they will be doing themselves more harm than good. MLK, Jr understood that non-violent struggle wins more converts than a kick to the head. I guess we’ll find out if Cali’s gays learned that lesson.
We did the same thing for tea parties. So what. Let the gays have their protests and honor them the way that we requested they honor the tea parties. Each has our own passionate position.
