Video: EPA dissenter Alan Carlin speaks
Alan Carlin is a brave man. He notes at the end of this Fox and Friends interview this morning that things are “strained” at his agency, but he “still has a job.” For now.
What I’m hearing: According to insiders, Carlin is not the only one who has faced/may face possible retaliation by the eco-zealous bureaucrats [...]
And next: A Fine Print Czar
I don’t know about you, but the idea of anyone in Washington fuming about fine print while they ram thousand-page bills through Congress that no one bothers to read is, well, triple-snort-worthy:
President Barack Obama asked Congress on Tuesday to create a new agency to police the fine print on consumer products like credit cards and [...]
Not a surprise: SEIU & Wal-Mart unite behind Obamacare
Wal-Mart announced today that it was backing Obama’s government health care plan. The discount retail giant was joined by the Service Employees International Union and the left-wing Center for American Progress. CQ reports:
Walmart, the nation’s largest private employer, announced Tuesday that it would support a mandate on businesses to help expand health care coverage, an [...]

Another reason MSM’s Jacko-mania reeks
Need another reason to be disgusted with the media’s never-ending Michael Jackson fixation?
Stephen Gordon notes:
Michelle Malkin and I had made suggestions that ABC News allow John Stossel to participate in their White House special with President Obama regarding the proposed government takeover of the health care industry. While ABC didn’t heed our sage [...]
Caution: ACORN housing entitlement mob at work again
Photoshop credit: Leo Alberti
Obama’s ground troops are back. The ACORN criminal racket has moved away from illegally breaking into homes back to mobbing financial institutions. Today:
Protesters in more than a dozen cities across the country are demanding that a group of mortgage companies who benefited from federal bailout money participate in a government program designed [...]

U.S. Marine Corps Col. Kenneth L. Reusser, R.I.P.
Ugh. I am so maddeningly sick of the never-ending Michael Jackson circus, sucking up all the MSM oxygen and drawing out all the race hustlers and cable TV rats. Al Sharpton. Jesse Jackson. Celebrity lawyers. Sewage on parade.
Here’s a man whose legacy and name you should tell your children about instead: U.S. Marine Corps Col. [...]

Cap-and-tax job loss chart of the day; Plus: A Senate reading assignment

A reader with deep expertise in the mining industry took the time to break down the House members who voted yes to cap-and-tax on Friday by coal-producing state. He writes:
I just developed a table of all the Representatives from coal-producing states who voted for Cap & Trade. Included on the table [...]
The Pelosi Republicans
I rolled my eyes a few weeks ago when GOP Whip Eric Cantor whined that Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t meet with Republicans.
Instead of wasting breath looking desperate, the GOP leadership should have been making sure each and every member fully understood the devastating impact of cap-and-tax and had properly girded their loins against being bought off.
Pelosi [...]
The Duke rape case the MSM won’t cover
It’s truly monstrous and evil.
But you won’t see wall-to-wall coverage on MSNBC or in the New York Times.
The alleged rapist is a prominent gay health researcher at Duke University.
The victim is his own adopted, five-year-old son, whom he offered up on the Internet to other molesters.
Thomas Lifson and Mike Adams do the job the selective [...]

The NYTimes-Wikipedia whitewash
Would Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales have done this for Fox News or the Washington Times? And if he had/has, wouldn’t the New York Times editorial page blast him for colluding to suppress information from the public?
For seven months, The New York Times managed to keep out of the news the fact that one of [...]
Hey, Janeane G.: Come on down!
Earlier this month, Texas Tea Party activist Katrina Pierson invited Hollyweird Tea Party-basher Janeane Garofalo to the July 4 Independence Day Tea Party in Dallas.
Katrina and friends (yours truly included) have issued one more invite to the shindig in the spirit of outreach and education. Come on down, Janeane. What are you afraid of?

Tea Party Watch: Protesting the cap-and-tax cramdown
Photoshop: Leo Alberti
It’s not just what’s in the bill. It’s the way they rammed it through the House.
Just like the porkulus: Under-handed, transparency-defying, and stuffed with earmark payoffs and bribes concocted in middle-of-the night, backroom deals.
Taxpayers are mad again. And they’re not going to sit still.
Impromptu flash protests are taking place today at state capitols [...]
The 8 cap-and-tax Republicans…and the 44 Democrats who voted no
Introducing the GOP’s Cap-And-Tax 8…

I listed them earlier tonight, but am breaking out a separate post to spotlight them again.
The 8 cap-and-tax Republican turncoats again are:
Bono Mack (CA) (202) 225-5330
Castle (DE) (202) 225-4165
Kirk (IL) (202) 225-4835 (And he’s seriously considering running for Senate!)
Lance (NJ) (202) 225-5361
LoBiondo (NJ) (202) 225-6572
McHugh (NY) (202) 225-4611

Cap and trade regulations: Do you trust this man?
This is a red flag. On the House floor this afternoon, Barney Frank explained the “placeholder” in the cap and trade bill that apparently will deal with regulations of financial derivatives market associated with reducing carbon emissions.
Frank says he is confident a “good system will be in place.”
In other words: Trust him.
Hello?
Trust him?
Are you [...]
Cap and tax liveblog, Pt II: Pay attention to House floor games; 14 undecideds; let’s play “Where’s the Bill?”
(Continuing from morning liveblogging…keep refreshing browser for latest updates…)
At approx. 2:35pm Eastern, GOP Rep. Joe Barton announced that there is now a placeholder in the bill to be determined later.
Barton notes that this is unprecedented. He can’t recall any final passage of a bill that has a placeholder in it.
What the hell is going on?
This [...]
Twisted priorities
Members of Congress don’t have enough time to read through the 1,200-page cap-and-trade (truth in advertising: cap-and-TAX) monstrosity that will radically alter the economy in the name of the environment…
…but they have time to pause for a moment of silence to mark the death of Hollyweirdo Michael Jackson.
Can we have a moment of silence to [...]

EPA plays hide and seek; suppressed report revealed
My syndicated column below slams the EPA for suppressing inconvenient truths about Obama’s politicized global warming agenda. As I blogged early Wednesday afternoon, the Competitive Enterprise Institute released e-mails detailing how eco-bureaucrats stifled a senior researcher who challenged the agency’s reliance on outdated data to support its greenhouse gas “public endangerment” finding.
Breaking late tonight, CEI [...]
Remembering Michael Jackson
So, you know by now that Michael Jackson died today after cardiac arrest (just a few hours after the death of Farrah Fawcett).
His adult life was marred by lurid molestation charges, endless displays of bizarre behavior with his three children, plastic surgery horrors, and financial mayhem.
But he was a musical genius in his early days [...]
