And now this: Shooting at military recruiting center; 1 dead, 1 wounded; suspect is anti-military Muslim convert

Scroll down for updates…meet the Muslim domestic terrorist suspect, Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad…Where is Obama’s denunciation of the attack?

Holy crap: A shooting at an Arkansas Army recruiting center has left one recruiter dead and one wounded. Pray for the families, please:

One Army recruiter was killed Monday and a second was wounded in a shooting at a recruiting office, and a suspect was arrested, police said.

Police Lt. Terry Hastings said the recruiter was shot when a man in a black SUV opened fire on the office in west Little Rock at about 10:30 a.m.

The vehicle was stopped on Interstate 630 a short time later and a suspect was taken into custody. Hastings said the suspect pulled over and surrendered without incident.

Police said they found an assault rifle in the vehicle.

Hastings said he did not know whether the recruiting office was specifically targeted or was randomly chosen.

I wonder if the Justice Department will send marshals to beef up protection at recruiting centers — especially given the past targeting of military centers on campuses and elsewhere across the country.

Too early to say anything about suspect, motives, etc. But these facts are worth bearing in mind:

Flashback: Special report: Tracing the Left’s escalating war on military recruiters

Flashback: The continuing war on recruiters that the Left doesn’t want to talk about

Flashback: Document drop: Unclassified memo warns military personnel of anti-war threats to recruiters, Army installations/facilities

Flashback: Bastards: Vandals strike at Berkeley Marine recruiting center again

Flashback: Explosion at Times Square recruiting station; Update: Bloomberg blasts the blast; Update: Security video released; Update: House Dems received letters, photo of recruitment center; Fox reports maybe more than 8 received letters; AP says manifesto was anti-Iraq war screed, “Happy New Year, We did it;” Newsday: At least 10 got the package

***

President Obama issued a statement yesterday after Tiller’s murder: “However profound our differences as Americans over difficult issues such as abortion, they cannot be resolved by heinous acts of violence.”

I hope he will be just as vociferous in condemning heinous acts of violence against our military recruiters.

Meet Abdul Hakim Mujahid Muhammad:

The shooting of two young soldiers, one fatally, outside the Army recruiting station on Rodney Parham about 10 a.m. this morning, has taken on a much broader dimension.

At an afternoon news conference, police said the man who’s suspected in the shooting did not know the victims but shot them because of “ideological reasons.” The suspect was described as a convert to Islam who specifically targeted soldiers for the attack.Police Chief Stuart Thomas said he didn’t appear to be part of a larger conspiracy and appeared to have acted alone.

“He has a disagreement with military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan,” Thomas said.

Federal agencies are on the case.

The suspect, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, 24, lived on Mara Lynn Drive. He was formerly known as Carlos Bledsoe and apparently moved to Little Rock from Memphis two to three months ago. He also had lived in Nashville, Tenn. recently.

Police identified the dead soldier as Pvt. William Long, 24, of Conway. Wounded was Pvt. Quentin Ezeagwula, 18, of Jacksonville. He’s in serious condition, but isn’t believed to have life-threatening wounds.

ABC News says Muhammad traveled to Yemen using a Somali passport.

A black muslim, funny, there will only be silence over this shooting or a blame everyone else for making this poor black muslim a victim from the left sites.

Thoughts and prayers to the family of these young men.

Here is my sarcastic thought: I blame the democrats for ruining the economy of this country through their credit scams and housing shenanigans which causes young Americans to have to join the military because of no economic opportunities for them in the economy. Actually, there is a lot of truth in that.

We will be hearing about the Tiller case much more than this one. As long as the Tiller case is in the spotlight, this story cannot be allowed to go away, either. Nor should we assume this man acted alone mere hours after the incident while authorities and the media exhaust themselves trying to find a connection between Tiller’s assailant and other people. How can authorities deem yesterday’s incident as possibly part of a larger conspiracy while the other case is already being dismissed as a one-off occurrence? We can’t allow this case to get buried while Tiller dominates the headlines for months to come.

Off topic, but you have got to read what Obama’s great uncle (yes the one that helped liberate the Nazi death camp) has to say about Obama’s upcoming trip to Germany:

Obama plans to visit Germany’s Buchenwald site as part of his multi-country tour, which begins this week.

Charles Payne, Obama’s great-uncle who helped liberate a sub-camp of Buchenwald during World War II, spoke frankly about the visit in an interview with Germany’s Der Spiegel magazine.

Asked if Obama would be traveling in his footsteps, Payne said: “I don’t buy that. … This is a trip that he chose, not because of me I’m sure, but for political reasons.”

He said Obama also might be trying to improve his “standing” with Chancellor Angela Merkel, since “she gave him a hard time during his campaign and also afterwards.”

Payne attracted some attention during the campaign last year when Obama mistakenly claimed he helped liberate Auschwitz — which was actually liberated by Soviet forces. Obama’s campaign corrected the mistake after Republicans seized on the error.

In his interview with Der Spiegel, Payne said Obama’s parents might have incorrectly told him the story of his great-uncle’s involvement in the liberation of Buchenwald, leading to the misunderstanding on the campaign trail. Payne said he never spoke to Obama about that experience beforehand.

“I was quite surprised when the whole thing came up and Barack talked about my war experiences in Nazi Germany. We had never talked about that before,” Payne said. “Of course it came out immediately that he was wrong since there are enough people in America who know that Auschwitz is in the East and that the camp was liberated by the Red Army.”

He said Obama called him after the flap last year for more details about the camp’s liberation.

As for Obama’s upcoming visit, Payne said he’d nevertheless be happy to join his great-nephew.

“If he invites me on Air Force One, I’ll be there,” he said.

He said their relationship is “warm and friendly,” though he’s not part of Obama’s “inner circle.”

Please direct attorney Eric Holder to have the U.S. Marshall’s service protect our U.S. military recruitment offices as well.

We must be sure that as a nation if we are going to protect very controversial abortion doctors using tax payer money, that we at least provide the same service to our unarmed military personnel.

Also, please vote AGAINST the nomination of Ms. Sotomeyer for SCOTUS. Her record of support for JUDICIAL ACTIVICISM is the antithesis of the person who would SUPPORT THE US CONSTITUTIONAL responsibilities of a SCOTUS Judge.

Obama has a Constitutional obligation as CinC to represent the US military. If it’s true that he’s made no comment (can’t find one, probably afraid of offending Muslims here and abroad), it’s one of the most disgraceful acts of moral and political cowardice I’ve ever seen.

I’m so furious over this that I would like to see Obama brought up on impeachment charges over it.

Several weeks ago, when a democrat party leader in Arkansas was murdered, Obama immediately made a statement:

“I was shocked and saddened to hear about the tragedy in Arkansas. We’re all grateful for the quick action of law enforcement and quick thinking by Chairman Gwatney’s staff, and Michelle and I are keeping him and his family in our prayers.”

How is it that this piece of sh*t President can take the time to comment on the Tilles murder and an Arkansas dem pol, but not his own soldiers???

It’s a sad day in America, and a dangerous one. Obama is endangering certain Americans, and empowering others. (He’s the executive branch version of Sotomayor) It will come to no good, and we are about to go off the cliff.

Obama is a danger. He must either be defeated, or we must escape him.

Both killers were on the radar of law enforcement people. Both had records that raised red flags.

But law enforcement is reactive. All its actions are aimed at responding to a crime, with very little ability to prevent one.

The military/intelligence mindset since 9/11 has been aimed at a proactive mode…at preventing any occurrence of terrorism in the US of any scale.

I don’t think we want law enforcement to be too proactive. There are numerous dangers in that. But our military and intelligence people can hardly be proactive enough, and we want them to continue the excellent work they have been doing since 9/11.
