Holder undermines Georgia’s voter verification rules; ACORN cheers

First, Attorney General Eric Holder and the DOJ protect the New Black Panther Party bullies who menaced a Philly voting station last fall.
Now, Holder and the DOJ are opening the voter fraud floodgates in Georgia. The Georgia secretary of state explains:
Obama Justice Department Decision Will Allow Non-Citizens to Register to Vote in Georgia
Decision Bars Georgia From Continuing Voter Verification Process
Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel issued the following statement following the U.S. Department of Justice’s denial of preclearance of Georgia’s voter verification process:
Atlanta – “The decision by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to deny preclearance of Georgia’s already implemented citizenship verification process shows a shocking disregard for the integrity of our elections. With this decision, DOJ has now barred Georgia from continuing the citizenship verification program that DOJ lawyers helped to craft. DOJ’s decision also nullifies the orders of two federal courts directing Georgia to implement the procedure for the 2008 general election. The decision comes seven months after Georgia requested an expedited review of the preclearance submission.
“DOJ has thrown open the door for activist organizations such as ACORN to register non-citizens to vote in Georgia’s elections, and the state has no ability to verify an applicant’s citizenship status or whether the individual even exists. DOJ completely disregarded Georgia’s obvious and direct interest in preventing non-citizens from voting, instead siding with the ACLU and MALDEF. Clearly, politics took priority over common sense and good public policy.
“This process is critical to protecting the integrity of our elections. We have evidence that non-citizens have voted in past Georgia elections and that more than 2,100 individuals have attempted to register, yet still have questions regarding their citizenship. Further, the Inspector General’s office is investigating more than 30 cases of non-citizens casting ballots in Georgia elections, including the case of a Henry County non-citizen who registered to vote and cast ballots in 2004 and 2006.
“It is important to underscore that not a single person has come forward to say he or she could not vote because of the verification process. Further, while DOJ argues that the process is somehow discriminatory, the historic voter turnout among Hispanic and African-American voters in the 2008 general elections clearly says otherwise.
“This decision provides a specific example of the inherently illogical and unfair nature of Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act. It is a sad day for the rights of our state and for the integrity of our elections. I remain committed to continuing the fight for citizenship verification. In the coming days, I will consider every option available to the state, including the possibility of legal action.”
Background:
As required by law and ordered by federal courts in October 2008, the eligibility of new applicants to register and vote is checked against the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) and Social Security Administration databases to ensure that individuals registering to vote report similar information. If information in these databases does not match information reported on the voter registration form, the applicant is asked to clarify the information. Additionally, if the applicant previously reported to DDS that he or she is not a U.S. citizen, that person is asked by a registrar to provide proof of citizenship.
Prior to the November 2008 General Election, Secretary Handel sent letters to 4,771 voter registration applicants whose records at DDS indicated they were not U.S. citizens, asking them to provide documentation of their citizenship. As of March 2009, 2,148 of these applicants still have chosen not to resolve the question about their U.S. citizenship.
In the November 2008 General Election, county election officials reported that 599 individuals cast a challenged ballot because the voter had previously indicated to DDS that he or she was not a United States citizen and had not resolved their status with county officials at the time of the election. Of those, 369 ballots were accepted because the voter provided documentation of their citizenship after the election; and 230 were rejected because the individual chose not to confirm his or her citizenship status.
On October 10, 2008, activist organizations including the Mexican-American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF) and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit to attempt to prevent Georgia from verifying the eligibility of applicants to register and vote in the November General Election, including whether those individuals were citizens of the United States.
On October 16, 2008, U.S. District Court Judge Jack Camp denied the motion by MALDEF and ACLU; directed the State to continue the verification process; and acknowledged the State’s requirements to verify information under the Help America Vote Act. In his order, Judge Camp stated:
HAVA requires that Defendant Handel match information in the statewide voter registration database with information from the Georgia DDS and the SSA databases “to the extent necessary to enable each such official to verify the accuracy of the information provided on the applications for voter registration.”
Judge Camp also stated:
Since the possibility of fraudulent and inaccurate voting could significantly injure and diminish the public’s respect and confidence in the electoral process, the State’s ability to maintain reliable voter lists is paramount to a temporary and minor inconvenience to a few individuals.
On October 27, 2008, a U.S. District Court three-judge panel again directed the State to continue its voter registration verification process and challenge ballot procedures through the November General Election.

I thought that voting was a privilege you only got if you were a CITIZEN.
Silly me for thinking.
Some Republican with a spine needs to put Holder under oath before a committee and have him justify his recent actions.
Georgia needs to give the finger to Holder.
Since voter registration allows one to vote in state and local elections, does the state not have its own interests at stake here, regardless of DOJ decisions. Does the X Amendment not apply here. Help me RAGS.
Georgia and every other state need to flip BIG BRO the bird, and do it VERY publicly.
They would be OBEYING the law, not violating it.
Put it to Holder!!!
MAKE THEM OVER-REACH…!!!!
Wow, just wow! Speechless.
Oooook then, how about the other 6.3 billion people in the world – why can’t they vote in US elections also?
..Anxiously awaiting your reply Mr. Holder… (not holding my breath though)
Judge Camp also stated:

I KNOW BIG BRO wants to undermine the election process.
They simply CAN’T be ALLOWED TO DO IT.
The courts have spoken, and HOLDER is out of order here. He has NO POWER whatsoever to over-ride even a District Court, much less an Appellate Court. The courts should drag him in for a show cause hearing (to show why he should not be held in contempt).
No, this is simply ridiculous. Georgia Secretary of State Karen Handel needs to write a letter to Eric Holder reminding him of the 9th, 10th and 14th amendments. The states created the federal government and the states are in charge of elections.
Furthermore, not allowing the state to correctly maintain voter rolls disenfranchises US citizens who are the only people legally entitled to vote.
The states need to wake up before they find themselves in the same position as GM and Chrysler. The states are the only solution to the mess the feds have put us in. If they don’t act to rein in the insanity in Washington, DC the America has a very dark future as a free nation.
Rule of Law? What Rule of Law? Holder is just another uber-liberal scumbag looking to swell the ranks of democrat voters. Keep watching as our Country disintegrates under the fascist rule of this Administration. The Chicago-style Obama mafia is in full swing.
In TEH ONE’s world, voting is a privilege best bestowed upon the living dead (idiots), the real dead, the illegals, the imaginary, and those at the government trough. Basically all those who will perpetuate Democrat rule forever.
That we conservatives still retain such a privilege is somehthing TEH ONE’s DOJ is working to minimize and, ideally, eradicate.
Yeah…good idea, Phred! Absentee ballots from Yemen. Holder would love the idea. Hope he doesn’t read this blog. Guess there isn’t much chance of that!
Seriously, this crap has to be stopped before the 2010 election or we are sunk. They will use every criminal tactic in their playbook to win elections. So far they are getting away with it.
Thank you Rags. That was my question. Do you think Ga. will not comply? All states need to stand up for their rights like Tx, Montana and Utal.
That would be Utah. sorry.
“Shocking disregard for integrity” is the perfect tagline for the dimrat party.
Man, they are doing a real number on this country. At warp speed.
Republican with a spine??? You’d have better luck finding a martian in a bottle of Budweiser.
Well, some of them sent money to TEH ONE’s campaign fund. Its only fair they should be allowed to vote too. Actually, that plan is probably in the works, to be revealed at the proper moment.
Absolutely spot on! We know they are trying to destroy the Constitution, but so far, it is still the law of the land. If we can just elect more honest STATE representatives, we might have a fighting chance. The he11 with DC.
This is where states sovereignty is very important. When the Federal Government can nullify a States right to ensure fair and honest elections, we have a dictatorship. I agree with Rags, rolling over and letting the Feds get away with this is not an option, put them in the spotlight and make them show their hand.
Thanks happy. (I was, of course, just kidding – but hoping to draw attention to the ridiculousness of what is going on…)
Here’s a thought to consider:
Mere presence does not confer citizenship.
Perhaps Gerogia ought to follow what Holder says and then when ACORN gets caught in voter fraud in Georgia the State AG should file charges against Holder as a complicite accomplice to ACORN’s voter fraud.
Typical of most Democrats – and vastly becoming a hallmark of the new administration.
Let’s not limit the fraud just to illegals.
We sure do know that, don’t we?? I still find it impossible to believe that we have allowed people to vote without valid identification. Voter ID is crucial to fair elections. This needs to be a rallying cry at tea parties!! The only reason we don’t have these ID’s is, supposedly, discrimination. How so? I can’t figure out how they can use that ploy in this case. If you merely have to prove you are eligible to vote, why is that discrimination? And if someone is so poor they can’t afford a voter ID, I’m sure government will pay for it. Another issue is the disenfranchisement of our military voters overseas. That is inexcusable…but they are purposely doing it because the military is mostly republican. Hmmm…I wonder if Osama bin Laden voted for Barry Sotero in the presidential election. Highly possible!
The States have to stop taking Federal money. Then they can declare themselves sovereign again. Until they do, they are at the beck and call of the Federal Government.
Georgia needs to fight this one. This is the crucial line. Taking no action opens the door for every other State to be commandeered by Blue Lip’s totalitarian intent.
There are two fundamental truths in regards to this controversy:
1) nations HAVE to control who comes in and goes out. Any viable nation HAS to control its borders. Mexico certainly knows this, and they have draconian immigration laws; and,
2) no democratic nation can allow its election process to be corrupted, or it ceases to be a democratic nation and becomes a kleptocracy.
The states HAVE to be MADE to assert themselves.
They need to push back against Holder and his thug boss.
Well, Obama is a Citizen of the World, he just wants to see all his fellow citizens, no matter where they are from or where they live, alive or dead, vote in our elections.
Sounds like an excellent opportunity for an aspiring presidential candidate to jump in and get his hands dirty. I guess the GOP is too busy waging its war against conservatives.
Apparently, there is no opposition party in Georgia either. I thought Georgia was a Red State? Where is everybody? Isn’t that Newt’s state? Where is that gas bag?
someone needs to file a lawsuit. . .everyday is so depressing and still 3+ years to go!
I think Georgia needs to sent 27 Senators to Washington with the next election and maybe 324 Representatives as well.
DC: “WTF?”
GA: “It’s what we voted for, so to hell with YOUR rules!!!”
Whenever I vote, I insist that they look at my license to verify that I am who I say I am during the check in process. Everybody should do this as a matter of course. When they say “Oh you don’t have to do that.” I say “How do you know I’m not lying?” They shut up and look at my license or at least pretend to look.
Kneel before
ZodHolder, peasants!The Chicago Way…
Holder is helping the “cowards” confront thier racism.
It becomes useless to run for office or to even vote. They don’t care who they put in office, see Al Franken,as long as they vote the party line.If this is not stopped the country is over.
I fear that I may live out the remainder of my natural life under the rule of “El Presidente For Life” Obama.
We are soooo screwed.
Doesn’t surprise me at all that Eric Holder would take this action. After all, he’s served on the Board of Directors at the American Constitution Society. Here is one of their recent forums on the issue: Link
The Supreme Court case that must keep liberal legals sleepless at night is “Northwest Austin Municipal Utility District Number One v. Holder”. Will be interesting to read the Justices opinions on that one.
The thing is, liberals have rocketed so far in their agenda, they have shot past an Orwellian landscape and now reside in the land of Looney Tunes.
PROVE IT.
The State Of Georgia NEEDS to file a strong, competent law suit against the DOJ.
Get it before the Supremes, and THE PEOPLE.
Karen Handel has a twitter page. She is going to fight this!
Georgia, along with most other southern states, have an extra layer of legislation imposed on them due to the Voters Right Act. You may remember a while back that some members of congress tried to get this bit of legislation repealed to remove this onerous burden off of the southern states, and it is that legislation that spurred GA to come up with the method of verifying voters in the first place.
Earlier GA had been sued for an imagined denial of people being allowed to vote. No nobody came forward and said they were denied, but just like the ruling in this case, it could happen. Karen Handel, who has announced her run for governor, came up with the plan to comply with the previous accusations. Like she said the DOJ under the Bush admin said everything was good and now a new administration and suddenly all of the previous rulings from the DOJ are null and void, whether it has to do with guns, Gitmo or voting.
So while the rest of the nation plods along southern states continue to labor under the liberal version of Jim Crow laws.
Well, Obummer’s on the voter rolls in Illinois, so we know how well that system works.
Georgia needs to tell the Feds to take a flying leap. The states need to start revolting.
Very true. Perhaps with the NBPP issue of voter itimidation in PA, PA should now have the Voters Right Act imposed on them.
How can the DOJ nullify the orders from two federal courts?
Reading elsewhere on the web, I found that the DOJ’s nullification is that pre-clearance was denied. Seems to be a contempt of court issue brewing.
Welcome to Zimbabwe.
In registering my daughter for state-run indoctrination (public school), I had to provide an original birth certificate. Do I have some grounds for suing Fairfax County (VA) for discrimination?
Georgia should assert their rights under the 10th Amendment and tell Holder to #%$@ off!
Dexter Alarius, you beat me to the punch
and i thought the constitution enumerated specific limits on federal powers, leaving all others to the states. wow how a few hundred years can turn a simple plain written document on it’s head. i guess it’s that strange definition of “is”. too many lawyers, wayyyy too many lawyers. i wonder who they will sue when the gubmint owns all the fat cows with deep pockets, (medical care, manufacturing, banks,) wouldn’t it be cool to see lawyers sueing lawyers over malpractice.
one can only hope to live long enough to see that day.
I do it. I’ve even sued other attorneys who violate the law in representing their clients in litigation when they break the law or commit a tort.
I am profoundly hated by some of my opposing counsel, who have literally represented to courts that they cannot be sued for what they do in representing their clients.
TS
cheapseat, Obambi so much as said that he intends to rewrite the Constitution when he said that the Warren Court didn’t go far enough in it’s activism.
We’re hosed unless and until the American electorate wakes up. 2010 can’t get here fast enough.
This is the problem with building the nation’s capital in a festering swamp. The place has always been filled with vermin and pests. In the old days these were mosquitoes. Today the lethal and dangerous pests are called Congressmen.
I think I prefer the mosquitoes. In the end they are less annoying and dangerous…
Anyone sick of the Marxists yet?
Are we at all surprised? This is a systematic takeover of the country. It’s the camel in the tent strategy.
These anti-Americans like Obama and Holder have all the power because ignorant people wanted change and refused to read the label. Hell of a change. More rights to illegals than for the rest of us.
They are dismantling our military, taking over the businesses, rewriting the laws and the American people are asleep.
Now is the perfect time to draw a line in the sand and challenge the DOJ on a states rights issue.
There is only one reason the liberals fight verification of citizenship to vote. It’s the same reason they fight so vociferously against presenting a photo id to verify you are who you say you are. These two things alone would make it hard for the Dems to cheat each election with the help of ACORN.
Folks, this is a no brainer and until states like Georgia take a stand against this bullying by the Feds our rights are going to be eroded more and more.
If they keep acting like they are (which they will) I think it is about time to remind them of the second amendment as well, if you get my drift.

It’s unconscionable that we don’t discriminate against ineligible “voters” and prevent them from voting. Not only do they vote, they frequently vote more than once.
The Tea Parties are not just about taxes. They are about “We the People” rising up in opposition to tyrannical government.
Hunter,
Over the last several years I have begun to fear that another American revolution is likely in my lifetime.
Leftists no longer respect the ballot as demonstrated in California and the last several national elections. Leftists subvert the ballot box at every turn and when it still goes against them they resort to violence to undo the results of election results they don’t like while calling those who disagree with them fascists!
I fear for what my children will “inherit.”

Some axioms:
1. By 2010 and even more so by 2012, the donks will have trashed this country so thoroughly that there’ll be no way they’ll keep Congress or the White House in fair elections. By 2012, Hope-a-Dope is going to strongly resemble Humpty-Dumpty: All the King’s reporters, and all the King’s editors, won’t be able to put him back together again.
2. The donks are aware of #1 above.
3. Donks will be donks before they are anything else. They’ll be donks before they are servants of the public trust; they’ll be donks before they are Americans.
4. Donks are incapable of feeling shame.
5. Donks practice an ends/means justification rationale whenever inconveniences such as the Constitution, or controlling statutes or contrary court decisions threaten to interfere with the preservation and expansion of their power.
Conclusion: They’re going to cheat, and they’re going to cheat BIG in elections from now on. Partly because they have to; partly because they like to; and partly because they’re convinced that they can get away with it.
- That’s why Gibbs’ press briefings are mutual laugh-fests with the donk reporters.
- That’s why Holder is setting us all up for Black Panthers armed with billy-clubs to stand in front of polling places from now on.
- That’s why ACORN is going to be heavily involved in the 2010 census.
- That’s why Holder won’t let Georgia weed out its voter rolls.
The donks really think that they’re going to pull a Hugo Chavez on America, just brass it out and replace the Republic with a one-party totalitarian system right in our faces, and that conservatives will let them get away with it out of a sense of futility, frustration and fear.
The question isn’t, “Will the donks cheat?” It’s, “What are we going to do about it when they do?” The vigor of our answer to this question will heavily determine the course of the inevitable Second American Revolution.
Excuse me? Nor required to be a citizen in order to register to vote? What part of the constitution did I miss here? I thought ONLY US citizens were allowed to vote. This country’s going to turn into a third world country — at least it’s well on its way now.
The Russians are sure laughing at us now.
Holder took an oath to enforce the law. The law is the Voting Rights Act. This forbids practices that have the effect of turning away more minorities than whites. The reasoning behind the law is that equal access to voting is a more important goal than keeping a very few illegals off the rolls. It does not matter what the intent or the reasoning.
Maybe it’s a bad law. But while it’s on the books, Holder has a duty to enforce it.
The only silver lining I see here is that perhaps more people will come out and protest on the 4th of July’s Tea Party.
There are a good number of conservatives out there, but not enough.
Those of us who get the truth about what is going on from the blogs are, in reality, to few to affect any change against the tsunami of power grabs by the Federal Government.
Outside that, you have not just democrats, but a large group of people (what was it someone said, 100million didn’t vote in the last election?) who sit back and do nothing. They buy every word the TV tells them. They don’t ever think for themselves.
Many of them might consider themselves conservatives. Perhaps a majority.
But they still have done nothing, and continue to do nothing.
There are a lot of good people on this blog and on others, but for the rest of America, they deserve exactly what they are going to get. They have fallen short of being worthy of true Freedom, because they have willingly given it up.
There will be deaths in the millions to be sure. There is no road out that is not drenched in blood, but the American people, on a larger scale, have allowed this to happen, and will have to reap the consequences of their inaction.
Time for the Revolution…….
This is an act of legal voter usurpation- It is big enough to change America forever-
Story should be blared out across the land.
ACORN/Holder/Obama= “The Family”
Holder needs to go- now!
Consummate bullspit.
Holder is NOT enforcing law. That has been demonstrated.
Holder is NOT performing his sworn duty. That has been demonstrated.
Holder HAS grossly politicized the DOJ, top-down. He is DOING what the DOJ under Bush was accused of doing.
EVERY AG has to decide which laws to enforce and which cannot be enforced. There are TOO MANY to BEGIN to enforce.
The drive to qualify every class of previously UNQUALIFIED voters…including felons…belongs EXCLUSIVELY TO STATISTS.
Well, lgm demonstrates massive stupidity once again. The Voting Rights Act is supposed to protect the right of a CITIZEN to vote in elections. lgm has now turned the entire act on its head because the State of Georgia wants to make sure ONLY CITIZENS and LEGAL RESIDENTS of Georgia are voting in Georgia elections. The state has a affirmative responsibility to protect the rights of citizens.
In lgm’s tiny, non-functional brain cell, making sure illegals and non-residents don’t vote is some evil conspiracy to deny “minorities” a right which they do not enjoy to begin with in any understanding of the law.
Maybe lgm fears somehow this will stop the illegals from voting in Mexico. While that would be wrong it is unlikely to be a consequence of Georgia managing voter registration rolls.
“Stupid is as stupid does.” — lgm’s new motto of the day.
George Will should be read.
“Having been twisted to serve group rights — certain groups’ entitlements to win quotas of offices — the law has become emblematic of both the noble flourishing and the ignoble decline of the civil rights movement.”
Had to give myself a reality check on this, so, I did…
For reference, I did a quick word count in the VRA for two key words here:
‘citizen’ (or ‘citizens’) and ‘alien’
Here are the results:
‘citizen’ appears 8 times.
‘alien’ appears 0 times.
Seems to me, like they were focused on defining groups Americans – and nothing else.
Karen Handel has a petition against DOJ http://tinyurl.com/ozrhvn
As much as I hate giving liberal trolls seeking attention, attention…I will respond to LGM’s comments. Since when has being an illegal alien become a protected minority in the US? Oh yea-since Pelosi desided to spread her SF values around. Your argument about Holder enforcing the law of the land is disingenuous. Holder, Obama, and the rest of these rats will say anything to keep themselves in power. They corrupted the language to the point where words are completely meaningless. It’s not about minorities, American citizens,….It is about Democrats remaining in power and they don’t care if fraud it the instrument that keeps them in power.
At least (the very least) he linked. That is a huge step for this idiot. Now if lgm could read and comprehend…
Baby steps.
I think I like GA for the first time ever (Gator fan). GOOOOO DAWGS!
WarEagle,
I don’t think LGM is stupid. I think it is more likely that he is a pathological liar, like a sociopath, and arguing with him is meaningless. Anyone who reads the articles presented here and actually thinks about these news-stories, cannot continue to honestly write the nonsense that LGM comes up with.
If any of you watch Glenn Beck, actor Craig Nelson of TV’s “COACH” came out and said he would not pay taxes anymore in California. Said he was willing to go to jail before he would allow this to continue and damage his children and grandchildrens future.
I think it is a good idea…Millions protest….they can’t find prisons for criminals , what will they do with Patriots?
UMMMM, the liberals have been wanting to free terrorists from GITMO and put Bush, Americans and as many conservatives (redundant, I know) there as possible. Remember, Americans are the emeny.

vinny said (#72):
It isn’t. But a law intended to keep illegals from also will have the (possibly) unintended effect of keeping some legal blacks from voting. That effect triggers the voting rights act. This act is concerned with the effect of a law, not its stated purpose.
I think the GA Legislature needs to Vote on a 10th Ammendment Resulution, and invite Mr. Holder down to watch the results. THEN remind him Who WORKS FOR WHO!
But the POSSIBILITY is not enough. The central government would have to make a showing. PROOF.
Holder’s position is very weak.
Signed it and even donated a little to the cause.
Trying times.

I was an election judge in a HIGHLY muslim precinct in Chicago this past election.
I had one woman who had a state ID with no photo on it because it would’ve required her to show more than her eyes.
What’s the point of the state issuing an ID when they won’t require her to show her face?
Btw-McCain got all of 13 votes in that place-two of them belonged to me and my husband.
Vinny,
I wasn’t arguing with lgm. I was laughing at him/her.
And you are right. A rational person could NOT come up with the stuff lgm posts.
This story is bigger than Watergate in all reality-
This blatent attempt to undermine our entire voting process with 12-20 million votes and using census numbers for cover of the new numbers is a direct assault on the American way of life.
Thanks again Michelle for being on the ball’ and giving us a sound other than crickets from the rest of the media!
I added the story (with my own take), as my top post today at our blog, to help empower patriots in our local area!

lgm, show us proof that any legal person regardless of race has been denied the right to vote in this country.Step up to the plate and prove it.Not from some left wing site either,a legitimate source.I have voted for 40 years in all kinds of elections and have never seen or heard of it happening.SHOW ME THE MONEY!
LGM,
Once again, you have taken up the liberal trap of bending what may happen to fit your political will.
Your theory rests on the idea that a law may create a situation where an innocent’s rights may have a very remote possibility of being violated. To utilize that same theme let’s look at murder:
Every state in our once great Union has legislated the intentional act of homicide a crime. Murder. However, there are certain circumstances where, even in our fantastic legal system, an innocent person may be convicted of murder. In point of fact, this has happened in the past. Based on the possibility that an innocent’s rights may be violated, using your logic, should the idea of intentional homicide no longer be a crime?
This is certainly an extreme example but a perfectly parallel one.
Our legal system goes to great lengths to ensure that mistakes aren’t made. However, they can and do happen. Usually, but not always, they are discovered and dealt with.
As a Democrat, you can’t be too concerned about a vote not being counted, can you? You and your friends certainly didn’t want absentee and military votes counted in the 2000 Presidential election.
This entire issue is an attempt by the Justice Department to cut off a State’s right to determine who may legally vote in it. The Constitution is clear that only U.S. Citizens may vote in a national election and the State of Georgia is clear that only residents of that state should be able to vote in it’s elections. Georgia should have every right in the world to determine if voters are: A. U.S. Citizens and B. Residents of Georgia. Your excuse that someone may be denied a vote is certainly a valid concern. However, it is baseless. The truth is, the Democrat party wants to be able to truck in voters because, in Georgia, it can’t win a fair fight.
I’m with docflash on this one – show some proof anyone has been denied the vote in the Great State of Georgia in modern times and I will shut up. I mean real proof – not what you heard from a guy who’s cousin knows a reporter for CNN that has a confidential source and, you know, that darned old Right Wing conspiracy won’t let them put it on the air..
all this illegal crap going on and I don’t mean just illegal aliens. Everything this scum bag is doing is unconstitutional not mention it’s a Marxist take over.
Does anyone really, honestly think this can be stopped now without a revolution? If so your kidding yourself, just look what they’ve done in 140 some days, this country cannot stand 3.5 more years of this crap…there will be nothing left.
How can the Republicans(not RINO’s) win with 12 million illegal plus dead voters in an election?
We’ve been overcome and beat by the liberal way…lies and fraud.
Read it. Saw nothing about non citizens and dead citizens being allowed to vote.
So tell us how the Voters Rights Act applies to the intended effect of armed New Black Panthers at voting booths keeping whites and latinos from voting?
And as an added assignment, does the VRA protect voters that supported and voted for Prop 8 in California, to the dismay of gays (the black vote is what tipped the scales, by the way. Isn’t irony great?)?
Gee. Where are all the frothing libs whining about politicizing the DOJ?
Remember back in the ’96 or 2000 election? Democrats were pushing hard for allowing felons to vote?
We haven’t heard much about that lately. Obviously its easier to allow illegal aliens to vote…more numbers, and the motor voter laws help considerably.
Yeah but he linked to the wikipedia version of the VRA.
It’s too bad he couldn’t read the post above rather than searching wikipedia.
I guess it could be written in crayon, but I doubt highly he could comprehend it without someone reading it to him…and maybe a few pictures.
Again, if you would actually read the post, Handel said African-American and Hispanic turn-out was historic.
But to use your logic about the POSSIBILITY of someone not being able to vote, why not apply that same logic to the Second Amendment?
There is more of a possibility of someone being killed by some thug, so why not allow them easy access to a gun to protect themselves?
Obama is raping the private businesses, thumping his nose at the rule of the law, and the entire country is watching the havoc this a$$hole is causing.
Are there any Republicans around who still have any balls left?
Ok, so the Republicans don’t have votes in the Congress to prevent the steamrolling by Pelosi/Reid.
Why are they behaving like cowards? They should all be hitting the public airwaves and make their views known to people they purport to represent.
Is there nobody out there who has the means to challenge DOJ in the Federal / Supreme Court over this unambiguous fraud?
Until people stop wondering “who the new American Idol is” and what’s the latest in downloadable songs, and start paying attention to what is really going on and important to their lives, the corruption in government will continue to get the upper hand. They get away with it! Why not? I have to go to this site and others just to find out what’s really going on. Certainly won’t find it in MSM news. We’ve got illegal aliens voting and vocal groups/lobbyists supporting that, and it’s ignored. They support the new Socialism. That’s what the politicians want to see.
Makes me wonder if we will ever see an honest election from this day forward.
The pessimist side of me will always wonder about the last one.

It’s not “my theory”. It’s the plain language of the VRA. Maybe the VRA will fail the next time it’s up for renewal. It barely got renewed last time.
Republicanvet quoted: (#93):
Yes, in Holder’s view, and in the view of many civil servants in the DOJ, the previous administration made agreements with state governments that violate the VRA.
Yes, in Holder’s view, and in the view of many
civil servantsrace hustlers in the DOJ, the previous administration made agreements with state governments that violate the VRA.The central government is remarkably full of people with a statist agenda; State, Defense, Justice, you name it.
They all think this is their day to run in the streets.
Here’s a thought question:
Is there, in fact, any right for anyone in Georgia to vote in a Federal election?
Does anyone, anywhere, have a right to vote in a Federal election?
