“John Yoo is going to have problems living a normal life now”
Zombie reports on the harassment campaign against John Yoo: See how Berkeley shows its tolerance.
But the left won’t call it a “climate of hate.” They’re just exercising their free speech.

This can all be traced back to our embrace of sin. Once hidden horrors are now paraded around and their practitioners demand our obeisance. This climate of hate won’t go away until they are back in hiding.
Related: Gay Thugs in Washington State are publishing the names of those who sign anti-gay-marriage petitions. Welcome to the Age of Intimidation.
One object: Fire hose. Come outside, pretend to “wash” the vandalism from the driveway and give the protesters a good soaking.
They wouldn’t set foot on MY property.
Liberals can’t hate anymore than, minorities are racist or women misogynistic.
We, on the other hand, are inherently evil and deserve it.
Berkeley is the home of idiots. Years ago, I was told by a graduate of Berkeley that EVERYONE who went there WASN’T a nut, and she’d show me around campus to prove it. We went across the bay, and entered the campus at the Sproul Plaza gate, home of protests forever. The FIRST thing we see is a man dressed up in a duck suit, complete with duck bill, pirouetting and babbling to any and all passersby. As we passed him, she averted her eyes while flushing redly, and he said to her “OK for YOU, Miss Palm Springs, to ignore me!” I laughed out loud. Later I took an 8 x 10 poster off a bulletin board as a souvenir of my visit, a poster announcing a “Massage-a-thon for Nicaragua”. Only at Berkeley, home of the intolerant and perpetually clueless.
Anyone care to give me a recap of the story? The work filter say zombietime is porn site.
Replace the name of Yoo with any abortion provider, and ask what the consequence would be.
It wouldn’t be just cops taking the protesters/trespassers/intimidaters/vandals down…it would be Federal Marshalls.
I would hope the professor filed a vandalism complaint with the police. That way he can get names and addresses for whom to sue for damages to his driveway.
Then hire someone with a high pressure steam cleaner to was the vermin off the driveway.
I’ve been trying to stay away from bad news and focus on all the positives around me, the immense amount of blessings I’ve undeservedly received.
But, I fear we have sailed past the point we will be able to return to our former glory as a beacon of freedom throughout the world. There are just too many crazy communists running around out there.
I hope I’m just being dramatic.
English Queen, I think 200psi should be sufficient to wash that trash off. I should be sufficient, too, to wash away the chalk marks.
After the politically motivated shooting of two US Army recruiters, shouldn’t John Yoo have US Marshal protection?
Have I missed President Obama’s denouncement of the murder of a Soldier at a recruitment facility? Or has he not issued one?

Code Pink…ya think?
Ragspierre:
Thanks!
Rags,
I take that back. Such Idiocy is painful to read.
Good question.
How is this sort of protest any more acceptable than, say, the prayer groups and other protests that go on outside abortion clinics (or, should I say, went, since Scott Roeder pretty much guaranteed they’ll never happen again)?
Why is this form of protest – of a private citizen’s residence – acceptable but the protest on a public sidewalk outside an abortion clinic NOT?
But think what it would be like to be that lame…
Oh, the humanity…!!!!
and the waste of skin.
John Yoo needs to familiarize himself with a gun…even in Berkeley.
I wonder what would happen if conservatives protested on Bill Keller or Cindy Sheehan’s lawn?
OT
GM’s model: Amtrak, how the government rescued a railroad and turned it into a lean, efficient private company.
Or not.
Did anyone else notice that the protestors in the picture are all seem to be above a certain age?
Are the hippies EVER going to grow up??
No, not if they haven’t by now. They DO die at a rather brisk pace, however. Self-induced malnutrition gets a lot of em.
It’s only going to get worse as more and more of them reach retirement age.
Vigilante justice is wrong. The protesters are outrageously out of line. There are channels for holding Yoo accountable. He should be disbarred and lose his tenure at Berkeley for professional malpractice**. Then he can take up a cushy job at the nearby Hoover Institute for the Politically Disgraced.
**After a fair hearing, of course.
Michael Barone wrote a great article 4 years ago about the Boomer Generation, my generation. He wrote our generation is engaged in an ideological war that will only end when our generation is dead. We locked in a struggle that began during Vietnam. We are no compromise, unreconcilable enemies for life.
Barone was absolutely correct.
I’d wash out the chalk on the driveway with a hose, and I would make sure I’d get the stalkers as well.
When they whine I’d just tell them that they’re lucky I didn’t come out with my shotgun instead.
That’s right LGM. No person who shares an opinion different from the Enlightened Left can ever be simply wrong. No, they have to be a criminal.
Have you ever pondered what life would be like in a country where we practiced that value system? Just think, if the people in power think you are wrong you will either be a criminal or a lunatic.
Since you are apparently a learned man, may I suggest you read a book that fully describes what life is like where your solution to differing opinions reached its full bloom.
The book is called, “The Gulag Archipelago” by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. Read it and discover where you want us to head as a nation.
This shows your are completely unhinged from any thread of reality.
There is nothing unethical about Mr. Yoo’s work for the Bush Administration. He was asked a question, and he gave his considered opinion.
He can’t be found to have committed “professorial malpractice” for something done before becoming a professor.
You just want to have your little krystalnacht (sp), and you don’t care how irrational you have to get to make it work.
Why stop there? Perhaps we should put him in a camp and re-educate him till he thinks exactly like you want him to.
Again we see you with an opinion that puts you more in the brown shirt camp.
That is now apparantly a criminal offense.
In my opinion, (I am not a lawyer) Mr. Yoo needs to install audio/video recording devices along with no trespassing and beware of vicious dog signs, and consider filing stalking, and other legal and civil charges, and file defamation suits against the “leaders.” against those breaking the law. Purchase several large trained dogs so that he can, “release the hounds” in self defense when needed. How much fun would that be to see these “brave protesters” running off his property faster than they can light an American flag! He needs to make it very costly for these “good weather protestors” to have their fun. I would enjoy a battle with these limp wristed, cowardly anti-American guano lacquered protesters. They can dish it out but not one can take it.
I should add that his opinion is correct.
We did not torture anyone under the rules and opinions promulgated by the Bush Admin.
Prof. Yoo’s sin was in defending America. Remember General Betray-Us? If they hate him, they’ll just make spit up…
These are our most dangerous enemies. We can very effectively fight Jihadis…if we can manage to fight them.
flyoveman, i agree with mr barone and your observation, that the baby boomers,my generation also, have been so perpetually cowtowed to, first by their parents, then by the government, and now by the media and business, that they will never grow up or change. if the parents of the babyboomers were americas greatest generation, their offspring are the generation which will go down in history as the destroyer of the american dream. shirtsleaves to shirtsleaves in three generations is a maxim in family owned businesses. man builds company, his children are so spoiled they destroy the company feeding their greed, then their children must start all over again. well the greatest generation built america from an isolationist backwater country to the greatest engine for peace and prosperity on earth, their sons are destroying it, and our grandchildren will have to face the rigors our parents faced to redevelope that country, if possible.
This is so spot on! My parents worked hard to make sure I never wanted for anything. My Dad fought in WWII, then came home and moved us out to the new suburbs. I grew up in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood just like in Happy Days. In the 60’s, I was in my twenties, and did stupid things along with the rest of the baby boomer idiots. One difference, though, I ended up a Conservative! Who would have thought? Sadly, the majority didn’t. How many of our recent Presidents took drugs, drank too much, or smoked pot? At least the last three. Sad.
Flyoverman said (#27):
Laffer was wrong. We should ignore him. Yoo was unethical. He should be disbarred for knowingly giving false legal council.
“legal council”???
Giving flase legal council is illegal?
Half the lawyers in the country are doomed.
No US Marshalls or FBI agents to protect him and his rights?
sonofdy said (#37):
When a lawyer deliberately gives incorrect legal advice, that’s legal malpractice and grounds for disbarment. I don’t know whether it rises to the level of fraud, which would be grounds for indictment.
No, we’re just waiting until they age and die of natural causes. It will be a while.
So lgm is now a legal expert on top of all other areas of expertise. /sarc
Hey, LGM, jackass. You’re an educator? HA! ha! ha!. It’l legal counsel, not council – you dumb putz!
Perfect quote from you regarding this issue.
lgm, you’re wrong on every front. You really need to start using a better liberal blog for your talking points. The one you’re using now makes you look like an idiot.

Are you gonna give a reference? Or are you gonna be laughed off the page like the guy who thought he understood detailed balance better than me?
lgm: Who, exactly, in Berkely will give him a fair hearing? The residents (his peers) have already held their deliberations, convicted him in absentia and are now ready to ’string him up!’
Where is the fairness in their actions to date?
lgm: your grammar isn’t too hot either…
Here’s the difference.
Legal Malpractice is a term mostly used in civil lawsuits where “but for, the lousy job my lawyer did, I would have won my case.” In criminal cases, it is referred to as “ineffective counsel” and usually means “I wouldn’t have been convicted if my lawyer had done a better job.” In the case of the civil cases, the punishment is monetary. In the case of criminal cases, if the convicted felon wins, there is a new trial and possibly a complaint is amde to the relevant State Bar. The element considered by the Court is Negligence.
For State Bar Matters, what is examined is intentional conduct. Did the lawyer earn his pay, miss an appearance in Court, withhold or steal settlement funds, engage in money laundering. That kind of thing.
If Loo is “punished” at all, I believe it will be by politicians seeking to get him for perjury or that kind of thing. No State Bar will take this seriously. A complaint could be filed and an investigation conducted and then it will be closed. There is no malpractice case because there is no criminal or civil case that was effected by Loo’s legal opinions. It’s all political, period.
That would get every single lawyer in the country disbarred. Are you seriously telling me there is a single lawyer out there who has never made a mistake? Personaly I think you need to get a clue if you think there are any grounds but a political witch hunt to disbar anyone here.
Sigh. Disbarments are for INTENTIONAL conduct, not negligent work performance.
No reference needed. Others have already partially schooled you.
I most certainly understand detailed balance better than you. Frankly, the concept is quite simple – I’m not sure how you could have misapplied it.

Intentional, or outrageously incompetent.
And your legal degree is from which law school?
Thank you for proving my original point. The Rules of Land Warfare are such that a reasonable person could reach the opinion that Mr. Yoo did.
Because you cannot deal with a different opinion he’s a criminal.
What’s ironic is people like you are responsible now for needless deaths. Any doubt in your mind what a U.S. soldier will do now when confronted by a potential prisoner who will be sent to the rear and summarily released by the Obama administration?
The Law of Unintended Consequenses can be a bear.
Both of which do not apply in this case, UNLESS you are an obamabot or left wing radical nutcase.
Your choice as to which you are.
What prisoner?
I didn’t see a prisoner.
No LGM, people don’t get disbarred because they are outrageously incompetent which is just another way to describe gross negligence which again is dealt with in malpractice actions.
cracker jacks box university.
Just brave enemy soldiers fighting to the death.
LGM,
I wonder how you would describe dropping charges without explanation for three NBPP memeber by the DOJ given the pallet load of direct evidence against them?
Would it be intentional, or outrageously incompetent?
LGM is a practical example of “legal incompetence” and he has lots of young impressional minds to inflict his incompetence on every semester.
So I ask the question again-How can LGM still be allowed to post here and not be banned?
GSP
“Dissent is Patriotic-hrc”
Have you read the law? I mean the LAW that Mr. Yoo was asked to give an opinion on?
Where was he even slightly “incompetent” in his interpretation, schmuky?
Actually, they can, do, and should. It takes some work on the incompetent’s part, but it happens.
Y’all really need to ignore the troll!
Just sain’ mind you; but, would it not be quite interesting if the home addresses of the code pink protesters were picketed and outed on the Internet?
{^_^}
How hard would it be to follow these flakes back to their homes and maybe dole out a little “evenhandedness?”
That guy needs to leave Berkely and go live around you people
Why?
Does this also apply to Bill Ayers? Or does he get a free pass for supporting Obama?
To Ragspierre
Send me an e-mail if you want to hear my basis for my opinion about disbarments.
IHateMyself: ‘You people?’ Which people would that be, the ones who think a person is entitled to his opinion (like Miss California) or the ones who can only have the ‘correct’ opinion (like Perez Hilton)?
Sounds like you want those who disagree with you to be shipped off to the gulags. Remember though, they keep shipping people off to the gulags until they come for you last!
nail49 said:
You know what?
That’s a good idea – send all of the bigots, idiots, liars, glue sniffers and anyone who voted for George Bush off to a gulag.
ILMC: I knew you were an idiot, but WOW, that last post really proved it.
BTW exactly who is going to do this sending? YOU???, bring it on b!tch.
Wow sonofdy sure is tough – I can’t remember a time when I felt more afraid.
IHateMyself: First, that would be a very small gulag if one had to also have voted for Bush. Minus the vote for Bush, the people to whom you ascribe all those traits would more than likely be those who voted for the current Administration.
Second, you missed the point that eventually you too would end up in the gulag because someone would find a reason to ship you there for your ‘incorrect thinking.’
sonofdy and many more of us on this site have served to defend your right to say and think stupid, VERY stupid, things. You should be afraid if those of us who served were to protect only those who thought as we do and left you to fend for yourself and your loved ones — I wouldn’t want to be in their shoes!
nail49 Said:
Something that made no sense.
Listen guys, stick to eating corndogs and drinking moonshine – this whole politics thing is a bit too complex for you folks.
IHateMyself:
Are you always so condescending to “us folks?”
Perhaps if we ate arugula and drank chardonnay we would be acceptable to you?
Politics makes for strange bedfellows, but I would rather sleep alone than share your politics.
Go back to your fantasy world where you don’t have to substantiate any of your arguments because everyone thinks just like you and nobody can question your superior intellect because they don’t have half the brains you do.
When your fantasy world goes POP we will be glad to let you live in reality with the rest of us. However, you must accept that others have different ideas and are willing to stand up for them while also defending your right to make your idiotic, unsubstantiated statements.
I don’t use your ‘tag’ here because I get the distinct feeling you don’t actually love your country and my calling you IHateMyself is actually wrong.
The only thing you love IS yourself.
