So very, very sad…prayers are being said. God, please bless our troops no matter where or how they serve.
God bless the victims and their families. May we as Americans be worthy of the service of men and women like them. I’d like to think America is a serious country, but with the apparent lack of outrage at and identification of the evil nature of Islam, we may have more of this type of violence before the giant awakens. The WOT has started, but I don’t think we’re actually serious about it yet, in fact, it looks like we’re in the process of taking it less seriously than ever.
God bless Private Long and his family. Watching his father speak about the shooting and his recollection of the day was heartwrenching.
My prayers go out to Private Ezeagwula and his family. I hope he makes a speedy recovery.

I am so furious over this, it makes me feel sick. I feel so angry at the government right now. And helpless that I can’t do anything. How do we individuals fight back against an overbearing, overgrowing socialist government? Writing/calling reps does nothing. Complaining does nothing. Voting does nothing.
I just feel small, useless, helpless… and very furious.

At the core of your motivation to remain in the military is the desire to serve alongside soldiers such as Private Long.

It would seem our Commander in Chief has been and is anti military. This is a horrible state of affairs. Why he would not speak, even if only to console the families, is beyond comprehension.
I’m with Flyoverman on this in that I care not a wit what Obama thinks. Anything he says at this point is meaningless. God Bless these young men and their families.

The young soldier’s father said something that everyone, including the head in the sand politicians, should take notice of.
He said “They weren’t on the battlefield, apparently the battlefield is here”.
My thoughts are and will be with Private Long and his family. This isn’t over.
But when will that happen? I really fear it will take millions of American deaths to make people wake up and start biting back.

Where’s CAIR’s condemnation of the shooting?
LOL! You slay me! CAIR would only come out from under their rocks if it were the Islamic terrorist shot by police before he could kill an innocent soldier or worse. Then all you would hear is “raaaaacist!!” and “poor misunderstood killer” quotes. Naturally, the liberal media would chime in, condemning the cops in the court of public opinion (which they make).
As President Bush put it…GLOBAL. I would expect attacks to step up in the coming days, as this current administration does not have the same sense of urgency, nor stomach to identify the enemy. It’s not a foreign army, under a foreign flag. It speaks all languages, lives in all corners of the world, are members of many families, and part of every day society. It blends in, becoming one of us. It’s been around for a VERY long time. And it is becoming more bold.
It infects the hearts and minds of those who choose to follow. It is filled with lies, hate and death.
It serves the god of this world.
God, please take this couragous soldier into Your Presence, and give him comfort. Please give his family comfort and solace.

I don’t know what God’s plan may be, but we seriously need His help in combating the evil that has overcome this great, powerful Christian nation!

My heart goes out to Private Long’s family. What has happened to the government of the country I loved? The mainstream media trash American heroes and cover for their killers, while they do everything they can to tar mainstream Americans with the brush of one radical nut. And the Commander in Chief won’t even acknowledge the service and death of a young American at the hands of a Muslim terrorist.
My America is gone, and I am scared out of my mind at what has replaced it. How does one person fight back against this kind of evil? I feel utterly helpless as I watch the destruction of everything I once believed in. I am afraid for my children and grandchildren, for my son in the Navy and my daughter in the Marines. I fear for the next generations of Americans who have no one in power, it seems, to stand up for them.

When the abortion doctor was killed, alot of folks on this blog offered prayers for the family. I don’t frequent the liberal blogs but to those who do, were prayers offered for Private Long’s family?
Sichiban, I know how you feel. I have long felt that the United States as we (think we) know it will soon cease to exist. I’ve been accused on other forums of being a pessimist. No, folks, I am just being a realist.
Mark this down: before July 4th, 2011, we will have ceased to exist as a free nation. As a respected and feared nation, we have already ceased to exist.
We’ve already become the laughing-stock of the third world. Every crack-pot, tin-horn dictator can openly defy the United States, because we are, indeed, a paper tiger. Our “leaders” are more interested in playing politics than in doing the job for which we hired them. One of the funniest descriptions of a politician is that they are a “public servant.” None of them know HOW to serve, much less serve the public. They are only concerned with staying in power and profiting from that power at our expense.
Long ago, I was taught that there are two kinds of respect: personal and positional. I respect Obama in his position as POTUS. However, he has not and never will earn my respect of him as a person. In fact, I can’t think of more than a handful of people in government who I do respect personally. All my brothers and sisters in arms I respect, both positionally and personally(until they prove unworthy of personal respect). Mr Long, I respect personally, because of what he believes in, and positionally as the father of one of my brothers.
Name your poison: La Raza, ACORN, Obama, Pelosi, Reed, Murtha, Specter, CAIR, the list goes on and on. Groups and individuals without number are doing everything they can to undermine what was once the beacon of hope for the world.

We’re well along that path, aren’t we? And the sheeple don’t want to wake up from their dreams of some utopia. They don’t want to have to face reality. Ever have a dream that you wanted to return to? It started in our colleges and universities, where, priding themselves on being open-minded and tolerant, the future leaders and teachers of our country were indoctrinated into the belief that everything the United States did was wrong, we were(and are) the cause of all the world’s ills, the “Great Satan,” the most evil country on the face of the earth. And they went forth and multiplied. The schools, colleges, universities, even the Federal Government is riddled with this doctrine. And we sat idly by and let it happen. We refused to heed the warning of Senator McCarthy – in fact, he was and still is the subject of massive ridicule from the left.
Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, upon learning of the success of the attack on Pearl Harbor, was quoted as saying, “I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”
Today, the giant that we once were has been sedated to the point where he can’t wake up. I will defend my country to the death, but I honestly fear that it is too late for us to wake up as a nation.

My deepest condolences to the Long family for their loss. It must be particularly hard for them to see their President in the Middle East on yet another apology tour, while they are at home burying their son. A son who has been murdered by an adherent to the faith in which their President is slavishly cloaking himself. Yet nary a word from him. That must make the heartbreak even harder to bear. Obama’s heart must be made of stone, politics trumps human lives as far as he is concerned.
My sincerest condolences to the families for the tragic senselessness that has devastated their lives and filled them with loss.
Hopefully law enforcement will now give greater attention to all American-born Islamic converts returning from trips to Muslim countries.

Yeah – that was my point. Common, human decency should dictate prayers and grief for for a fellow American and his family regardless of politics. That is lost on the left. This scares me as much as anything I see – it suggests an evil that is tough to combat.

It’s just not fair that our bravest and best can’t even be safe here at home. I hope the Longs can find peace and comfort in the fact that their son is a hero no matter how short a time he was in uniform, and I pray that our leadership wakes up and comes to the defense of our defenders…simply saying they feel bad for everyone involved does not cut it!

Our so-called President has, twice, embarrassed himself with his initial silence and when forced, his phony sorrow in the space of a few days.
