America the 57-state caliphate?!

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 3, 2009 11:01 AM

What the…

As President Obama prepared to leave Washington to fly to the Middle East, he conducted several television and radio interviews at the White House to frame the goals for a five-day trip, including the highly-anticipated speech Thursday at Cairo University in Egypt.

In an interview with Laura Haim on Canal Plus, a French television station, Mr. Obama noted that the United States also could be considered as “one of the largest Muslim countries in the world.”

(From: NYTimes, “Obama Says U.S. Could Be Seen as a Muslim Country, Too.”)

We’re not even close.

That’s Obama math for you.

And the Obamateurism of the Day.

You guys are so over reacting. I think it can be shown that we are the 3rd largest (square miles) country in the world with some amount of Muslim population.

So when Alaska breaks off from the US, they will be one of the largest Muslim nations as well, and still leave us with 56 + 3 states. The new geography is as much fun as the new math was years ago.

The difference is, Republicans and Christian Evangelicals get lambasted for it.

Muslims are rarely, if ever, criticized by liberals.

Wonder why. Could it be the Evangelical track record for beheading non-believers is significantly smaller than Muslims?

Well, clearly lgm has no problem with Islamic teachings. Only Christian ones.

Which is why it’ll be fascinating to watch various and sundry liberals blow a gasket when Islamic shari’a law is instituted in parts of the country and they’re forced to kiss their pet causes bye-bye. Unlike Christians, who go to the ballot box, shari’a law isn’t instituted by a democratic vote.

I do realize he wasn’t specifically saying we were a Muslim country, but the implication is pretty bad given that various elements have spent years successfully eradicating any connection between religion and national identity or politics. (”Separation of Chruch and State” crap.)

I had previously dismissed the idea that he was a closet Muslim, and maybe he isn’t. But statements like this and his indifference toward our ally that happens to be a Jewish state compell me to revisit the idea.

Besides… In Islam everyone is Muslim. They believe everyone is born Muslim and when they chose another faith they become infidels.

So it’s not a matter of the faith of a nation. What matters is the willingness to submit. Once a nation submits to a Muslim leader (and then Islamic law), it’s a Muslim nation regardless of the individual faith of its people.

I often wondered if, under the pressure and fatigue of the campaign, his internal truthfulness-suppression manager
collapsed and in his answer he conflated (his whistle-stops during the campaign in…) the 50 US States with (his visits during his student days) the 57 Islamic Caliphates.

Or, perhaps President Cucaracha’s ears draw so much blood away from the brain that we shouldn’t expect too much or be so critical of the poor nebbish…

Since Obama claims to be a Christian, and mentioned Harry S. Truman while speaking in Truman’s hometown of Independence, Missouri, why didn’t Obama mention this Truman quote?

The most important business in this Nation–or any other nation, for that matter-is raising and training children. If those children have the proper environment at home, and educationally, very, very few of them ever turn out wrong. I don’t think we put enough stress on the necessity of implanting in the child’s mind the moral code under which we live.

The fundamental basis of this Nation’s law was given to Moses on the Mount. The fundamental basis of our Bill of Rights comes from the teachings which we get from Exodus and St. Matthew, from Isaiah and St. Paul. I don’t think we emphasize that enough these days.

If we don’t have the proper fundamental moral background, we will finally wind up with a totalitarian government which does not believe in rights for anybody except the state.
