They went on to say that sharks STILL swim along the slave route, looking for more scraps of human jettison to feast upon.

   The ridiculousness of these claims notwithstanding, there are LOTS of folks out who were taught this revisionist nonsense who actually believed it. I do not doubt that there are “African studies” departments in our major universities who still peddle this tripe.
