DOJ issues statement “to protect American Muslims;” silent on protecting Americans from jihadists

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 5, 2009 11:14 AM

You will be fascinated — among other reactions — by the latest statement issued by the Obama DOJ, issued yesterday after the president’s Cairo speech.

No, it’s not a statement condemning the jihadist in Arkansas who targeted our troops or the Bronx jihadi plotters who targeted Jews, infidels, and our troops.

It’s a statement “to protect American Muslims.”

Read it (hat tip – LaShawn Barber):

Statement of Attorney General Eric Holder on Department of Justice’s Outreach and Enforcement Efforts to Protect American Muslims

Thursday, June 4, 2009

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder released the following statement relating to President Obama’s historic speech today in Cairo, Egypt:

“The President’s pledge for a new beginning between the United States and the Muslim community takes root here in the Justice Department where we are committed to using criminal and civil rights laws to protect Muslim Americans. A top priority of this Justice Department is a return to robust civil rights enforcement and outreach in defending religious freedoms and other fundamental rights of all of our fellow citizens in the workplace, in the housing market, in our schools and in the voting booth.

“There are those who will continue to want to divide by fear – to pit our national security against our civil liberties – but that is a false choice. We have a solemn responsibility to protect our people while we also protect our principles.”

Meanwhile, this:

The FBI confirmed Wednesday it was investigating the possibility an Atlanta Jewish site was among other planned targets of a Muslim convert accused of killing a soldier outside a Conway, Ark., recruiting center this week.

Stephen Emmett, spokesman for the Atlanta FBI office, said the investigation into the shooting turned up evidence to suggest Abdulhakim Muhammad, 23, of Little Rock, had plans for a “Jewish entity” in Atlanta. The Associated Press reported memos from the investigation showed Little Rock, as well as New York, Philadelphia, Louisville, Ky., and Memphis, were also on his list.

Emmett declined to say what specific site in Atlanta might have been in Muhammad’s plans, but “precautions were taken [in Atlanta] because of the serious nature of the Little Rock” shooting.

And this: “The man accused of fatally shooting a soldier outside a recruiting center begged for FBI agents to free him from a Yemeni jail where he was ‘radicalized’ by Islamic terrorists, his lawyer told The Associated Press on Thursday. Lawyer Jim Hensley described Abdulhakim Muhammad as an impressionable youth driven to public service in an impoverished Middle Eastern country. But teachings by ‘hardened’ terrorists in Yemen and experiences with Afghan child refugees who were missing limbs drove him to become someone his parents didn’t recognize, Hensley said.”

And one more very interesting post you should read: An investigation by Blue Collar Republican into the Mephis mosque and imam under which the Arkansas jihadi shooter Abdulhakim Muhammad studied/worshiped.

Is that an apology to people like me? Since Junior High school I have been pointing out little things that will inevitably snowball as congress critters get their power-hungry paws on them. The SCOTUS has been going downhill since the mid seventies when they were allowed to decide for themselves which cases they would or would not hear.

Political expediency and power have long surpassed the will of the people in importance to America’s politicians and new “Royal elite” classes such as the Kennedies, Pelosi and others. They are doing to our country now what the carpetbaggers were trying to accomplish after the Civil War only this time, the thieves are in power.

Muslims are not terrorists because the government says so but anybody who believe in ANY of the Constitution, the Bible or otherwise has a firm set of beliefs and/or morals and values is now to be investigated as a potential terrorist … probably because people who are right-thinking and actually stand for something “terrorize” those on the left because they are terribly afraid of discovering just how many chinks there are in their armor. The reality is that their “armor” based on their “emotional beliefs” is nothing more than a sad, poorly made re-make of the Emperor’s New Clothes.

Except for Christians, pro-lifers, and those who support traditional marriage. I noticed no national defense of Mormons or Catholics faced with Prop 8 violence, or any promise to fight “negative stereotypes” of the same (as Obama vowed to do for Muslims in his Cairo speech).

Liberals are always hyping about how Christians are going to impose a theocracy on America – something that didn’t even happen under Bush. And won’t happen. But this isn’t attempting to “divide by fear.”

    Good gracious.

I say let them. Those “American Muslims” will turn around and bite us in the collective butt. I will relish the day when they start actively working to overturn gay marriage (a no-no in Islam), abortion (also a no-no) and put feminism (a big no-no) on the back burner. It will be hilarious to watch liberals flip out when we warned them about this. Time and again.

But you reap what you sew.

Obama is just more open about it than other politicians have been. I have to ask, what the hell is it about Islam that has all of the western governments all agaga? They just can’t get enough of Muslims. Can anyone explain this crap to me? I absolutely cannot figure it out. European power players are enforcing the change of their own culture, to the detriment of their identity, to accomodate these people. It is so true, if you give an inch, they will take a mile, and Europe does not seem to mind. Polygamy is now rearing its head because of the gay marriage decisions, a way to welcome more of Islam here? I DON’T GET IT!!!

It’s not so much a fascination with Islam specifically as it is two other things:

    1) A politically-correct, multiculturalist agenda.

    2) An abhorrence for Christianity and orthodox Judeo-Christian values.

Western governments, as led by the modern-day PC-types, like Islam because they have bought into the notion that all cultures are equal and that no customs or behaviors of one culture can be better/worse than another. It is foolish, and dangerous, to be sure. But they have never really been able to distinguish between good and evil, success and failure, and are driven by a profoundly stupid desire to make everyone and everything exactly the same in the name of “equality.”

They also hate – hate – Christianity. Because it isn’t, to them, “multicultural” enough and they think it’s repressive. Of course, if they really bought the notion that it’s “oppressive” they wouldn’t turn around and endorse government regimes that are actually, you know, oppressive. The “rules” of Christianity (which they abhor) with regards to sexual behavior, morality, life, marriage, etc. are – to them – these inflexible chains that weigh you down.

But if you stray from those teachings, mercy and reconciliation are never denied the truly repentant heart and soul. It is infinite and unending.

You can’t say the same for the millions who died in gulags and government pogroms for failing to toe the socialistic/secular progressive/humanist bent of government Western politicians seem so intent on emulating. Forgiveness is not infinite and rarely ever offered to those who go astray.

Which makes you wonder which is freer. I know the answer I’ve chosen.

And they know the freedom promised Christians is the biggest threat and enemy to the socialistic utopias some Western nations try to create.

Isn’ t the term American Muslim a perfect oxymoron?

Until a Mohammedan proves to me that they are not an imbedded jihadist, I will treat them as a potential personal threat. I refuse to let any of them wait on me at the bank, markets, retail outlets or restaurants. In fact, if I see any working in a restaurant, I won’t go to the restaurant anymore.

Islam is more than just a religion, approaching governmental status and is completely incompatible with life in the USA.
