Obamacare poster contest: Coming to a hospital near you!; Updated with new entries
(Update: Round Two is here.)
Okay, Army of Photoshoppers. Scott G. at Ah, Shoot is fighting the government takeover of the health care industry with all of his artistic power — and has issued a challenge for an Obamacare poster contest. He has adapted old WWII art to inform the public of the consequences of Obamacare. (The posters are all in the public domain and you can find a huge collection here. Longtime readers will recall the incredible WWII-inspired Pshops readers sent in to counter the NYTimes’ blabbermouth reporting.) As I’ve said before, this battle must be won not just in the halls of Congress, but on the ground, in the airwaves…and in the culture. There’s work to be done and a fight to be won.

The phrase “government health care rationing” should be repeated as often as possible. The sheeple need to be awakened to what the government is really promising.
I remain curious what people think government does well. Generally speaking, these that don’t do things so well, don’t get asked to do MORE.
I have lived socialist medicine. Its not all bad. However you HAVE to accept the bad parts with the good. Most people in the USA will find the bad parts unacceptable. They just don’t know it yet. They expect the same level of healthcare available today except they expect not to have to pay for it.
NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
The insanity continues. 45 million illegal aliens don’t have health insurance. Gee, I wonder why? Could it possibly be because they snuck into our country in the dead of night, then demanded welfare, free food, free education, free healthcare, oh, and you’d better be able to understand what they are saying in Spanish or they will get a free lawyer! 45 million illegals…they have absolutely NO right to be here. They are flaunting our laws and laughing at our efforts to enforce them. Our sovereignty is a big joke. This disgusting, corrupt government plans to give them all healthcare benefits, at the expense of the actual citizens…and the result is the bankruptcy of our country. Look at California. The entire country will be just a great big California in a couple years. It is obvious that, if we can get rid of illegal aliens, we can have quality healthcare for those of us who actually have a right to be here, without resorting to socialism. When did we lose our collective minds?? This cannot stand, or we will no longer have a sovereign country and the legal citizens will have fewer rights than the usurpers. Sorry for the rant. I am so upset by all of this! Can’t we get anyone in DC to understand what they are doing to us? This president and this congress all need to be held accountable for this mess and impeached for deriliction of their duty to preserve and protect.
I just spoke with a manager in my company who just came back from the vacation from hell in Aruba. Seems he experienced a herniated disk while down there and could not get an earlier fliight back. Doctors would not even give him anything stronger than Advil for the pain unless he checked into the hopsital. He suffered the whole time until he could get a flight back. He could’ve done a Medivac flight but that would have cost him $25,000 out of his own pocket. We may have a terrible medical and health system, but it is far and away the best in the world. I guess we’ll have to learn the hard way.
Freddie Mac, bankrupt. Fannie Mae, bankrupt. Social inSecurity, bankrupt. Medicare, bankrupt. Medicaide, bankrupt. Postal Service, bankrupt.
And some idiots STILL think the government can run healthcare!
I lived with the Socialist Medical Care system in another country for over 15 years. I lost a very dear friend and wonderous human being to this system of health care. Wait in line to see a Docotor, scheduled to see another doctor 6 months down the line on another day, wait in line, scheduled to see another Doctor down the line on another day and by then she had died of ovarian Cancer. Now President Jive Turkey wants to foist this on our Health Care system – get ready to watch your friends and loved ones be mistreated.
Hey MM. Forgot the link to Ah, Shoot:
http://ahshoot.blogspot.com.
Thanks.
I’m planning more covering different subjects.
Once we make our posters, we need to plaster them all over our towns.
How ironic, we’re using governemnt produced posters to fight the government….
Ah, yes. Paper had an article this morning on all the social, medical and educational services the state of California is cutting to save money. And, yet, NOT ONE WORD PRINTED on the cost of illegal aliens to the state and taxpayer.
Cut off the illegals and the state MIGHT have the money to spend on the most vulnerable LEGAL CITIZENS in need.
It might make the posters more effective to be factually accurate. “Doctors are Already Scarce” thanks to medical school quotas organized and maintained by the AMA. We already have health care rationing. Our medical care already is worse than that in other countries. That’s despite the fact that we pay twice what they pay.
I have worked for a private hospital and a local VA hospital. The private hospital would inflate the prices of the most common tests and procedures to cover the costs of the non and under insured. Costs are constantly being transfered to the insured which raises the costs of overall insurance. Add to that all the unnecessary test being order by doctors to cover their butts from lawsuits, using the excuse that the patient isn’t really paying for the tests – insurance is.
My father went to the VA for the “free” healthcare the gov promised him. I tried to get him to go to private doctors and he refused. After waiting for hours, he saw a different doctor each time, who spent the time reviewing his medical history and nothing more. Any new problems would be passed on to the next doctor who saw him.
Gov healthcare means that the doctors work for the gov, not the patient. “Free” healthcare isn’t free or worth waiting in a line to be seen.
We need to blanket Washington and our elected congresscritters with calls for them to also participate. If they are so sold on it, let them be the first to sign on and cut their govn’t healthplan first!
hopefully all the medical training in the Air Force will come back to be helpful…believe none of you want gooberment provided health care…I’m on medicare much to my dismay…I am in constant pain from a variety of problems, guess what NO pain management available within 200 miles of my location!! Time to bone up on non-traditional medical treatments or be prepared to pay out a bunch of $$$ for out of gooberment network care??
This should be fun, especially for those of us north of 60, as hip/joint replacement will be out of the question for us!
DagneyT, pretty much EVERYTHING will be out of the question for you. You’re too old to be worth saving in the Obama utopia…didn’t you get that memo?
And let’s not forget Joe Biden’s favorite means of conveyance….
Amtrak, Bankrupt!!
But at least they are on time!
/sarc
Unless you are rich or well connected look for the denied because of “Patient is no longer economically viable”
Simpler than that, just say, “The people who run the DMV, the Post Office, and the IRS are now going to be running your Health Care.”
Way OT, but has anyone seen this? LOL!!
You know, “statistics” show that checking the air pressure in your tires will help reduce and/or eliminate the number of car accidents in this country and, as a result, the associated health care costs and hospital overcrowding.
I was trying to post the following comment but got an error message saying I had posted it already. Is that a bug or are the thought police getting really good?

Something needs to change in our system of health care when the retiring CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont received a $7.5 million dollar bonus for all his good work. And to think, BCBS of VT is a non-profit enterprise. Maybe Obama should apply his salary cap policies to the health insurance industry.
And that’s just the bonus?!
I won’t make anywhere near that for my entire career.
Stupid me for going to medical school, I guess…. (yes, sarc!)
Well first we let them kill the weakest of humans (Before they are born). Next they will kill the elderly (by denying electricity and health care). Then they will kill the least productive member’s (who should “never have been born.”) This is our brave new world.
Proposed Obama Health Plan Breaks 250k Tax Increase Promise
The second highest tax bracket (which the healthcare proposal starts the tax at to pay for national healthcare) begins at 208k for married status and 170k for single.
If this plan is enacted the President will break his promise not to raise taxes on anyone making less than 250k.
One more broken promise to add to the list.http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aj5HHIKfogR8&refer=worldwide

I lived in a country with free heath care. I taught military officers and NCOs.
One day, when we were giving oral exams to some officers, my boss took me aside and told me that the next examinee must be passed, no matter how he performed.
The reason: he was seeking a posting in the US and had a daughter that needed surgery. The boss said, “If he fails to get this post, his beautiful daughter will die.”
I knew folks who risked an airline flight with acute appendicitis. They feared that if they had to wait for ‘free’ medical care, they would die.
National health care for the US is only a nightmare now. Don’t let it become a reality.
No,no, this is their core constituency…
Next time you go to the DMV, remember, people like this will determine when, if and by whom you can have medical care.
Ask any liberal if he likes going to the DMV and then spring that on them. There is no arguing it.
Appropo of all things in the current pResident’s cabinet…
(from a NY Times article)
The president “invites debate but he doesn’t tolerate factionalism. And ultimately everybody on the economic team knows that at the end of the day we’re going to hold hands and jump together,” Mr. Axelrod added.
Maybe we can hope that it is a high cliff and they take all the lemmings with them!!!!
I just don’t get it. The people who are concerned about the privacy rights of terrorists want the government to be their urologist. Unfathomable.
Not health care related, but here’s my take on a WWII poster pertaining to Ted.
24 Klady # 12 If they are so sold on it, let them be the first to sign on and cut their govn’t healthplan first!
My feelings exactly!
Thing is though guys – the LAST thing I want is government intervention. The REASON (and only reason) the insurers are where they are is government intervention. I posit that if government got out of the way, the BCBS guy would make less and granite would be more appropriately be rewarded for his true value to society.
Government IS the problem. Not lack of regulation.
Those posters are great. Nice work.
For a preview of ObamaCare… just look at Medicare.
It’s a disaster, and they have the audacity to hope no one noticed this is what they’ll be getting.
That Texas secession thing is starting to sound appealing.
Errah, I’ve heard that the DEMs believe this will work is if they go to a single payer system getting rid of the insurers and then basically socializing the medical profession forcing a vast percentage of potential docs into primary care by forgiving their undergraduate and med school loans. This will be accompanied by an vast influx of foreign docs to keep the costs low.
They can’t handle mail, how can we expect them to handle healthcare?
Just days ago a good friend’s wife was having some health complaints and had gone in for some tests. They found that she needed emergency heart bypass surgery, so she was admitted immediately and they performed the surgery the next day. She is now recovering from the surgery. Under Obamacare she would be told to come back in six months, effectively a death sentence.
Well heck yeah, let put all the employees of the health insurance business in the unemploymnent line to get back at some CEO who got a bonus. That’ll show ‘em gosh darn it.
Funny how auto companies and financial institutions are said to be too big to fail but private insurance isn’t.
Maybe by some sort of twisted logic this is how Barry O and his cronies are going to save all those jobs. Do away with them as private sector jobs and make them all gubmint workers for his single payer socialised health care. Oh yeah and of course make them unionized.
Stay healthy, folks!
I would just keep taking my echinacea, but global warming killed all of my coneflowers!
WAAAAHHHH
Just A Grunt #37
I’ve wondered why Baracky hasn’t made the auto workers gobbmint employees too? Since D.C. now controls the auto companies (notice I didn’t say taxpayers) it just seems so unfair not to give them gubbmint salaries while they also draw off their retirements from the auto companies.
I’ve only worked for 3 mo. as a union worker and threatened to quit if they didn’t find me a salaried position. They did. Guess who’s kicking themselves in their oh-so-stupid-butt now? I’m finding that banging your head on a wall is just as effective…
Errah, Just wait till the UAW sees what their 20% share of GM will buy with Obamacare. I’ll be laughing all the way to the government owned bank.
YES! Both congresscritters and WH residents, too! Email, FAX this to them,
Where are the trolls trying to blame bush for this and the budget meltdowns????
Are they finally running out of excuses for their masters failures???
Well, just how much of this will we take?
Except for the stroke, and my blood pressure, you’d not know I was old & moldy. As someone pushing 3 digits, I’ll not be here to see the worst of it.
My children, grand- and great-grand children will!
And, hear me: it will get much much worse!
My online-family, I remember Hooverville. It is coming again!
Although many people say to me that the creation of The Cockroach Corps™ (President Cucaracha’s “volunteer” troops) is to jail Conservs, I wonder about it.
Maybe so, but the Civility of our culture has been destroyed. In that case, postulate a Hooverville, without the C-Corps to control it. It would be disasterous, personally, to President Cucaracha. After all, they might cross the green desirous to do more than work with effigies…
Remember the Bonus Army? And what happens if he calls on the Military to fire on a Bonus Army or Hooverville with their ire up? Of course he needs Einsatzgruppen! They are Sicherheitspolizei, make no mistake!
How much will the American People endure?
Sorry, guys, I had more to say and it was more cogent, too. But I’m just too tired… Going in for tests tomorrow. Hope to read you guys again soon!
Keep the Home Fires burning!
Good post.
Agreed.
Hope tomorrow’s tests are only good news.
Stay well.
martin.musculus
It’s so good to see you posting again. Get those tests done before they decide you can’t have them anymore! I’m not even close to 3 digits in age, but I’m thinking that if you’re over 45 most things will be denied you. Stay well.
Obama-care will be great if you are healthy and/or poor. Everybody else will hate it but the MSM will print endless accolades about how wonderful it is. As horror stories will be impossible to ignore, there will always be the touching personal stories by welfare mothers (who won’t be identified as such) who will supply the line that “maybe the system isn’t perfect but it is better than the way things were before.” That will be expected to close debate and reason enough to accept the new order.
Let’s have honest posters. Doctors already are scarce (the US has a shortage). Surveys show that US health care is near the worst among developed countries, and we pay twice as much for it. Treatments are rationed. Following a now discredited thinker: you have nothing to lose but crummy overpriced health care.
lgm, I have lived this sort of healthcare system. You are not being told the truth about it by the dems.
Trust me.
lgm – please please please get at least one fact before you post.
?among the worst? in developed countries. Exactly what evidence do you have to show for that?
Treatments are rationed? By who or what method? (other than economics)
If you don’t think treatment should be rationed by economics, please tell me what system you think better.
So, the posters are just lying? Doctors are scarce because they can ill afford the malpractice insurance and don’t get much of a return on their medicare and medicaid patients. Medicare and Medicaid are driving up the cost of health insurance coverage. Fix that- not the overall healthcare system that will be DESTORYED by government-run Obamacare.
If you want you some “free healthcare” got get ya some in Canada where people are waiting to DIE for cancer treatment. Or how ’bout you love government intervention, got get ya some in Great Britain where people don’t even get decent DENTAL CARE.
Why don’t you ask how military members feel about Tricare? That’s a supposedly free government healthcare except it’s rationed NOW when you factor in the lack of quality doctors and medications.
Healthcare is overpriced because the insured are paying for those who are uninsured. We’re being expected to foot the bill for those who either don’t want to buy their own insurance, are living on the dole, or just plain too plain irresponsible to take care of themselves.
Free healthcare is never free. Somebody is gonna lose out on this deal and it’s not just gonna be the “rich.” It will be all of us.
Our second son was born about two weeks ago and I can say through the whole process nothing was denied us, there was no shortage of doctors and no care was rationed. My wife went into labor unexpectedly in the middle of the night. We arrived at the hospital at 4:00 and my son was born at 5:15, surrounded by various doctors, nurses, technicians etc… Two days later both my son and wife were home without a hitch. If there was any problem with the whole process it was excessive appointments during the pregnancy. And this was all handled by a low cost pregnancy clinic and average hospital. I might add that that both the clinic and hospital were overrun with illegals that received the same level of care absolutely free, Thanks Medicaid.
So lgm, just what part of this is Obama-care going to improve on? The only thing I can think of is requiring the illegals to pay their own damn bills.
I don’t know, you keep showing up. (rimshot)…
Doctors are not scarce – the illegals are sucking up the resources. There you go – you have no stats, I have no stats…
My experience is that we have outsanding healthcare in this country. If you have cancer, would you pick Johns Hopkins or the University of Guadelajara?
So be honest – you think it’s “free” because other people would be paying for it for you, and you prefer other people paying for it.
PS – my doctor quit – sick of the insurance companies and the gov…
See, Obama doesn’t care about lowering the health care standards we enjoy in the US. In fact, he is probably out telling other countries right now that we are sorry we have it so good. We just stole that good health care from the other countries and we were wrong to do it. Lowering our health care standards in the US is just chickens coming home to roost. We deserve it.
And of course, we are only lowering standards for rich people. Poor people have NO health care so ANY care care would be an improvement for them. It’s only right that rich people should pay their fair share by lowering their health care standard to raise the standard for poor people. He’s only just begun. More lies for the sheeple to follow.
Here are my OBAMACARE Posters:

what the buggery bollocks is lgm spouting now?
I will await your facts to back up that last bit of shite.
What the buggery bollocks is lgm spouting now?!
I will await his ‘facts’ to back up that rubbish he just posted.
Heh. I like the second one.
On June 8th, 2009 at 3:45 pm, lgm said:
Oh really?
I agree, but overloading them with a greater patient load is not the answer; and while I’m at it, the USDA educating for important to rural America people who completely lack the ability to read Americans is no better – there’s a reason why eastern KY is the number one per ca pita abuser of prescription drugs.
Sources please, LGM? I’m amazed you’d even suggest this, given the number of highly credible and easily accessed sources around that explicitly state the contrary – not to mention the number of commenters here who know of or have tried themselves to get medical attention outside this country!
Again – how, where, why?
You’ll never convince Americans to surrender their healthcare with this lame argument.
Hmmm….
Sounds like the old Sybil.
What do other folks think?
Back to topic:
We med students were told 35 years ago that there was a doctor shortage; so, “physician extenders” were being pushed then.
Next, it was that there were too many hospital beds and too many hospitals.
Thus, hospitals shed beds, and treatment emphasis switched from more inpatient to more outpatient; some of that has been for the better, some not.
The actual closing of hospitals means that some folks have to travel farther to get to a hospital if they are having a bout of acute appendicitis, or a heart attack, or a stroke, or a collapsed lung, or whatever.
Next, as well as now, it was that there was a shortage of primary care docs; in this there is likely truth.
‘Course, the reason for that is that the “central planners” and trial attorneys have so screwed up our economic and medical systems, and society in general, that primary care has less and less and less attraction for med school graduates.
The cost of a medical education is through the roof;
medical liability insurance premiums inexorably rise and rise and rise;
the government, followed by other insurers, inexorably tries to push payment to docs for professional services lower and lower and lower.
Well, you do the math.
BTW, I recall reading and hearing ~ 15-20 years ago that the reason healthcare costs were so high was that there were too many docs.
Regarding the “surveys”…: Just who is designing and conducting them?
Does the poster above have any stats as to how many people travel out of the U.S. in order to go to other countries for particular medical care because that in the U.S. is inferior?
What’s that?
Crickets?
I thought so.
The “healthcare crisis” is another in the list of sophistic arguments (e.g., global warming) in which the socialists, existentialists, domestic enemies, etc. specialize and exult in.
Not to mention another in the list of making “things” and the situation worse; and making the particular item, service, or commodity in question more scarce, of poorer quality, and more expensive…except, of course, for the nomenklatura.
Wasn’t it Fat Teddy who screwed with health care to begin with? Didn’t he get HMOs started? And he’s now saying health care is “broken”?
#55…love the 1st one…you should add that you stayed in a Holiday Inn express to it…lol
RogerC
All great! Loved them, especially the first one.
Here are some links. I tried to post some this morning (probably not exactly the same) but the site was broken, at least for me. I didn’t do anything special, just googled things like “US+health+care+rationing”.
Rationing
Cost
Doctor shortage
poor care
One thing these posters show is that nobody beats Republicans when it comes to ridicule. The purple bandaid, Obama looking like Aunt Jamima, and so on. If only they used all that creative energy for good (problem solving) rather than mischief. Our health care system is not great now, and it’s getting worse very fast.
The World Health Orgaization ranksthe US #37 out 190. That doesn’t sound too bad to begin with but be careful with hidden figures. See the 2nd link below for how the WHO calcs its rankings and you’ll see that it’s rankings are extremely biased toward government run health care. Typical liberal tactic- lie, mislead, lie, mislead. If they ever told the truth, people would not vote for them so.. they lie. My critical thinking skills tell me the US healthcare system is second to none.
http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html
http://smartgirlnation.com/2009/06/01/popular-ranking-unfairly-misrepresents-the-us-health-care-system/
I tried to post some links but I get an error message: “duplicate post detected”. It’s very easy.
See, you are an error message here….
Roger, thanks for posting your stuff at my page.
Thank you, Scott!
lgm, see the link button above the comments box? Its not getting for sausages.
If lgm thinks we have a shortage of physicians in the US now, wait until doctors effectively become agents of the state, with their pay and hours controlled and limited by a bunch of ill-educated bureaucrats trying to figure out what treatments will be allowable by reading from a manual.
Oh yeah! THAT will inspire the Best and Brightest to go to med school and spend long years as interns and residents.
Errah, No. I invented waterboarding.
Here’s an article to help counter lgm’s idiocy:
Die in Britain, Survive In The US
http://www.harrysnews.com/tgDieinBritain.htm
It’s from 2005, but things have certainly not got better in the UK.
Excerpt:
The answer is clear. If you are a woman with breast cancer in Britain, you have (or at least a few years ago you had, since all medical statistics are a few years old) a 46 per cent chance of dying from it. In America, your chances of dying are far lower — only 25 per cent. Britain has one of the worst survival rates in the advanced world and America has the best.
If you are a man and you are diagnosed as having cancer of the prostate in Britain, you are more likely to die of it than not. You have a 57 per cent chance of departing this life. But in America you are likely to live. Your chances of dying from the disease are only 19 per cent. Once again, Britain is at the bottom of the class and America at the top.
How about colon cancer? In Britain, 40 per cent survive for five years after diagnosis. In America, 60 per cent do. With cancer of the oesophagus, survival rates are low all round the world. In Britain, a mere 7 per cent of patients live for five years after diagnosis. In America, the survival rate is still low, but much better at 12 per cent.
The more one looks at the figures for survival, the more obvious it is that if you have a medical problem your chances are dramatically better in America than in Britain. That is why those who are rich enough often go to America, leaving behind even private British healthcare. One reason is wonderfully simple. In America, you are more likely to be treated. And going back a stage further, you are more likely to get the diagnostic tests which lead to treatment.
Fewer than one third of British patients who have had a heart attack are given beta-blocker drugs, whereas in America 75 per cent of patients are given them. In America, you are far more likely to have your heart condition diagnosed with an angiogram — a somewhat invasive but definitive test. You are far more likely to have your artery widened with life-saving angioplasty. In Britain not very long ago, a mere 1 per cent of heart attack victims had angioplasty. In America you are much more likely to have heart by-pass surgery. In 1996 British surgeons performed 412 heart by-passes for every million people in the population, less than a fifth of the 2,255 by-passes per million performed in the United States. America has many more lithotripsy units for treating kidney stones — 1.5 per million of population compared with 0.2 in Britain.”
So once again, lgm is butt-stuffed with the facts. I hope he’s been buying KY jelly by the gallon…
Today President Barry Obama (D-Leningrad) vowed he would create 600,000 stimulus jobs this summer.
If he can’t live up to his promise, do you think he’d do the honorable thing and resign?
“Vowed,” I tell you!
“Doc, I broke my arm in two places.”
“Well, stay out of those places!”
Here’s mine:

5minutes – don’t the Italians have words for that gesture? I’m thinkin’ though, that if we use it someone’s going to get banned tonight.
That’s priceless by the way.
“Here It Comes!”
ROFL
It must be working, a troll came to my site just to insult us. It didn’t work.
Obamagreen is people!
“Let’s have honest posters.”
Doesn’t that mean that lgm wouldn’t be allowed to post here?
“Doctors already are scarce”
Two things.
1. Malpractice trial lawyers have had a huge impact on practicing doctors.
2. Reduced insurance payments have had a huge impact on practicing doctors.
Any attempt by Obama lgm to control malpractice lawyers?
Any indication that the reimbursement family practice of pcp doctors receive is going up if we socialize medicine?
Answer to both is the same. NO
Obama makes many of the main reasons doctors have left primary care, ob-gyn, hospitalist, etc., positions Obama is already telegraphing he is going to make it WORSE.
You’d think someone would say, “Hey, lets wait to see how some of the other things you are doing work out before we start changing healthcare…” How’s that job creation working, stimulus package, how is the auto industry bail out going?
Any of those areas give any credibility to or confidence in Obama taking on health care?
Again, NO.
Just Great. My husband and I worked our ***** off for decades. Built the family businesss and paid for healthcare out of our own pocket. Now FINALLY we can afford good health insurance for our family and our employees, and whats gonna happen? Obamacare. I feel like we are sliding backward into the abyss.
I am constantly reminded of this Obama quote:
“My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I hope you’ll join with me as we try to change it.” – Barack Obama.
A friend of mine is on California ‘Medi-Cal’, the socialist medical care for the state. She had a mammogram in December and got a letter dated Dec. 24th that said she needed a biopsy.
As of today they still haven’t scheduled one or any further tests. They’re waiting for the people in charge of approving procedures to approve it. More than 5 months later…………….. and hussein wants that for everyone.
lgm – you need Kevorkian…now there’s a doctor for you!
Yep….that’s why Ted Kennedy, who can afford to get treated anywhere in the world, went to Cuba for his brain cancer treatment, and Elizabeth Edwards went to Colombia for her breast cancer treatment, and Berlusconi, the PM of Italy, stayed home to get his heart problem treated, with an occasional visit next door to France.
Oh, wait….they didn’t. They all opted for crummy American treatment.
Dr. Tiller would have been even better.
That’s easy….the government run VA, medicare,and medicaid.

I’ve said this before but, in a few weeks, I will be laying out a big chunk of my own money to fly back to the USA so that the finest doctors on Earth can fix my knee.
Professional athletes make hundreds of millions of Dollars per year. They can afford to pay the salary of any Doctor they wish just to have one available. Do you see these guys packing up and flying to Britain for a check up or surgery? Of course not.
Do Bill Gates or George Soros sneak over to Canada for the superior Medical Care? Of course not. They pay for the finest Doctors on Earth – in the United States.
You NEVER hear of a medivac or air ambulance flight from the US to Europe. They come from Europe all the time. I know this because I was, during the last 20 years, one of the people who cleared them to arrive in the USA.
If they want to have Socialized Meidcine, let’s have a compromise: Instead of mandating it, give people an “open season” of 60 days to make a choice (except any member of Congress, or resident of the White House who votes for it or signs the bill – they are required to join). Those who choose ObamaCare will have it for 5 years. At the end of that time, those who are still alive will be given the option between ObamaCare and Private Insurance. ObamaCare will then become one of those blips in history like Prohibition where everyone says, “Can you imagine we did something that stupid?”
Lgm’s comments are, as usual, asinine and without basis.
And just down right ignorant. He would have to be lead by the hand into hospitals and clinics to see what really goes on before he would get a clue…but he doesn’t want a clue. Truth would burst his Obamabubble of faith in hopeychange.
Don’t worry lgm, the thought police are through with you.
If Obama gets this national health care plan approved,I expect him to appoint Kevorkian as health czar.
A corrected version:
Sorry I was previously so unclear, but I’ve been overwhelmed with work and burdened w/ endless allergy-related headaches since the first of spring; the rain makes them ten times worse and seems it’s rained here nearly everyday for a month.
let lgm pardner with a Vet trying to get an appointment at the local VA Hospital/Clinic, then wait for the appointment, wait at the actual appointment, wait in line for what meds they might give them, wait again for the specialty clinic/treatment if needed, they go to that appointment, and back to the pharmacy…he’ll get a minor clue about what obamacare will be but multiplied by 100%….there will more non-vets in the obmacare system than the VA….

I think too many of the comments in this thread denigrate the fine medical work done in Socialized Medicine countries.

Look at what a good job the French Docs did with that international statesman Yassir Arafat. He went in with a “minor problem” (AIDS?) and came out 24 hours later with a toe tag!

I hope LGM doesn’t go for any Socialized Medical work. We will have to find another resident official TROLL for this site.
