Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he’s “happy” illegal immigrants get state services and says they’re not to blame for California’s $24.3 billion budget gap.
Schwarzenegger, an immigrant himself, says the estimated $4 billion to $5 billion the state spends on illegal immigrants annually is a “small percentage” of the deficit.
Not one dime for the self-made poster child of dysfunction.

If tax dollars spent on illegal aliens are such a small part of his budget, then it must be those gov’t employee unions that are sucking the state dry. Let’s see how the Governator handles them.
So he does acknowledge a) They are here illegally? and b) They do cost something?
Unfortunately, I think both of these admissions may be an improvement over previous positions.
I’ve been trying to figure out the Ahhnold thing for a while now- his leftward shift is going to ruin him. Didn’t he run against Gray Davis because Davis was doing the same stuff he is? I thought he’d give California a dose of reality, instead the state seems to have given him a dose of Californity. Either that, or Skynet somehow reprogrammed him.

when doing your own budgeting you always cut out non-essentials where you can to survive…ok the support of illegal aliens and their anchors is only a measley $4-5 billion. Since it is not essential to those legal citizens who live and work in CA, shouldn’t every penny of waste be cut? Yep you bet it should…the governator and his illegal alien loving croonies in Sacremento need to cut every non-essential services including welfare to non-citizens from another country who take out far more than they provide in services or taxes!
Last time I checked the direct costs of services to illegal immigrants was more like $12 billion, or half the budget deficit for California. Also, what is never discussed is the indirect costs of illegal immigrants – wear and tear on the transportation, healthcare and energy infrastructure, the cost of crime, and lost of quality of life for American citizens who can’t use parks, playgrounds, libraries and public streets.
California is a state undergoing collapse – and it is a collapse inspired and driven by socialists who call themselves Democrats.

Not sure if they taught math in la-la land or where ever it is you came from, so here’s a little help with the math Gov. Rino; with a deficit of $24.3 billion that “small percentage” is 16 – 21%.
The problem is that people are swallowing this nonsense and obscuration. Walter Williams was right in saying that “the dumbest generation is getting dumber.”
That is a gross under exaggeration of the cost. You probably can’t calculate the total cost. And some of the cost is federal so its still tax dollars.

People are not leaving so much as they are sending their capital to other places. Jobs are being lost, and they will not return soon.

As a Cal-ee-fahn-nian myself, this is just one tough pill to swallow. I do my best at the voters box, along with a few of my fellows.
Our latest ballot measures to increase taxes went down in May. Too bad that many of my fellows here had no problem voting for ridiculous spending measures in the past…ones that our state government are now trying to offload onto other states.
Very unfair.
This is from the same state that was going to show us all how it’s done….by spending $5 billion of state money on stem cell research.
They waste money like crazy…and expect us to bail them out. I suspect since it’s a BLUE state, President Urkel will do just that.
Final thought: Many Californians leave that state because it’s going to “hell in a hand basket”….and then what do they do? They ruin the states they move to, by bringing their liberal crapola with them. Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Utah….all have been California-ized to a certain extent. (This is meant as no knock to the good conservatives in the state…or ones that have left there).
I am not defending him, but this is the fault of the California voter. For the most part, Californians are ignorant to issues. Californians put in Arnold to fix the budget, then did not let him do it. The liberals were like kids in a candy store stealing from the coiffures when there was a 25 billion dollar budget surplus. Less than a decade later, 25 billion budget deficit, but Californians will vote these crooks back in every time. The special election, the voters told Arnold, this is a left wing state and we want to keep it that way. Arnold is behaving and saying what the voters told him they wanted. The voters cut Arnold off at the ankles so he could not walk. Arnold kissing up to Obama? California overwhelmingly said, Obama is our man. On election night I found it difficult to sleep with all the car horns blaring and people screaming hooray in the streets. The voters told Arnold that he is the savior, why should he not kiss his a$$, it is what the people want. The welfare state is broken, will Obama cash in on the red states to bail out the blue ones or will he let them fail? It is going to get very ugly here in the Golden state. Welfare checks are at the very least going to be cut and there are no jobs here, riots anyone? California voter’s fault. My advice to anyone right now is plan your vacations somewhere else.

Last night while channel surfing, I came across a program about some big award show that was on this weekend. The interviewer was talking to various participants, and the big talking point was, “Who are you wearing?” And, “I love your dress!” And, “Are those real diamonds?” “But of course!” It was all taking place in the great state of California. These people don’t even realize they are living in a bankrupt state because they live in another level of existence. They cheered when Obama was elected because it seemed like a good idea to have a black president. Period. Most of them are brainless twits whose only concern is who gets the awards and adulation. Narcissism gone amok.
Kinda brings into light the imperative to have that CA-OR border fence finished ASAP. We here in OR have had a phrase shared amongst the locals that goes basically: ‘nothing good ever comes from California’. Sorry Californians, once upon a time, you were a fine state with fine people. Now? …’not so much’.

We’re facing a water shortage in CA and may soon be in dire straigts, with threats of higher costs for water, rationing and water police keeping tabs on us. The illegals simply add to the strain on state finances and environment as well as culture.

Imagine the power of a hundred emails all telling him he has to act responsibly. He is a lame duck governor so he does not have anything to lose if he does the right thing: THAT of balancing the budget by removing non-essentials instead of letting out criminals on the streets of CA.
While you’re at it, you might mention that he could declare the CA man-made drought over with an EMERGENCY proclamation. Water can then be pumped to Central and Southern CA agriculture. This would alleviate farmer bankruptcies, unemployment of some 70,000, and create revenues!

This is a great quote to point out why they are so fiscally irresponsible. 5 billion is 20% of 25 billion. When 20% of the budget deficit is a ’small percentage’, you don’t have responsible people in power.
5 billion eliminated annual cost would go a long way to shoring up the bottom line of the government.
If they did that and drilled for oil, they wouldn’t have a deficit – until they started spending again.
Trust me, it’s way more than $4 – $5 billion. It’s at least double that.

And that was in 2004. Trying to find one that’s more updated, which will most definitely show a higher figure.

California voters and non-voters have nobody but themselves to blame! It will be a cold day in hell when I authorize one cent of my tax money to bail out CA! They need to fail, feel the pain and then get back to fiscal responsibility! Throwing tax money at the CA deficit would be the worst possible solution! Don’t let them do it!

Many for not voting at all (not that they’d be inclined to make the right choice) and leaving it to enough other idiot sheeple to continue to elect and re-elect these vermin.
When voters vote in liberal democrats to the state or federal government, they vote for this type of problem. The candidates tell them they will create big programs to take care of illegals or unions or “the children”. They tell them they will fund stem cell research and impose environmental regulations on corporations. They tell them they will raise taxes and increase fees. They also tell them that they will only make the rich people pay and that poor people will be given even more free benefits.
Since there are fewer rich people than poor people, the people vote to get more free stuff and charge the rich people. They get the candidate that promised them everything. Then when the rubber meets the road, it’s crisis time. The candidate can’t deliver. Neither the candidate nor the voting public will ever acknowledge that fallacy. They will blame rich whitey and continue the same way and vote for the same people, and get bailed out over and over.
When will republicans sieze the day and educate the people? They are told that the Republican way is to not care about the poor. Republicans make the poor suffer. They don’t give them health care and welfare, etc. The proof is right there. Believe liberals and you get the California mess. Tell me how that method is good for the poor or the unemployed or the sick. The battle lines are drawn. The people need to understand.
As others have pointed, more credible sources than our governor have placed the annual cost of illegals in the state at between $10B-$12.5B. Figure that represents over a decade more than $100B that the state could have saved taxpayers or spent on citizens, infrastructure, etc.
When Arnold became Governor, the state budget was an out of control $78.9B, and he was going to slash the excessive spending. Turns out he was a girly man after all.
When I left Cali I immediately registered my auto in the new state. They assured me they’d notify Cali of the change. Well, after the tags in Cali expired and I’d been in the new state for 9 mo. or more – Sac decided to send a threatening letter that if I didn’t renew the registration they could place a lien on the vehicle or other property I owned. I called Sac and after 2 hrs of getting the run around (in a multitude of languages) I was assured the problem was taken care of. A month later, I got another notice… Now they want sympathy and aid from taxpayers? I have missed a number of family events because I refuse to leave one red dime in the state by traveling there.

Maybe my math is a bit off after a long morning of sitting in the revenue office to get my license renewed followed by an afternoon getting staples out of number 2 sons leg. But isn’t 4 to 5 billion roughly a fifth of a 24+ billion deficit? Seems to me, that’s not a “small” percentage. It’s more like a significant percentage.
You’d think the governor, having a degree in some kind of business field, would be able to figure that out. But then again, I am just a trucker. What do I know?

You know, it sounds all bunnies and rainbows to want to take care of people who come from a place where they don’t have much of a chance… but the facts are that WE CAN’T AFFORD IT. So instead of bunnies and rainbows for all, we end up with termites and thunderstorms for all.
It’s as if a family makes $50,000 per year, with expenses of $65,000 and then they decide to feed and clothe four other families by going into debt to do so. They can’t even afford their own expenses, yet take on 4 more families worth. They go bankrupt and everyone starves. It’s not warm and fuzzy, it’s just crazy!
I think Schwarzenegger should uphold the rule of law and govern by the rules set forth by the United States Constitution as he swore he would with his oath of office.
Back in the sixties the government came into the schools and brainwashed us with the idea we needed to control the population because it was rising so fast. They said the roads would become crowded and we would run out of things like water.
They unleashed abortions, birth control pills, and other forms of Family Planning.
To allow the country to be over run with the criminals in businesses illegal labor while the criminals in the government aid and abet the invasion is a travesty against mankind.
They have seen to our children were killed to control the population at the same time allowing the world to export their population problems here.
What about our sacrifices, many made against our will?????
