Barry – LISTEN TO ME! The cure is only TWO STEPS AWAY using economics 101:

1. ELIMINATE the double taxation on dividends.

By eliminating the double taxation on corporate profits – more people will swing their investment dollars toward companies that deliver tangible RESULTS rather than those whose stock values are being manipulated by Wall Street.

2. INDEX capital gains, (not eliminate them).

That will ALSO favor investing in companies for the long haul, those who actually produce something and have REAL long term growth potential. Day traders may put money into their pockets but that PRODUCES NOTHING! For every day trader who makes money – somebody else LOST money. There’s no productivity associated with stock investments that flipped in a matter of days or even hours. Indexing capital gains removes the PENALTY placed on investors who want long term stability.

Forty-five percent (45%) of Americans say the rest of the new government spending authorized in the $787-billion economic stimulus plan should now be canceled. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 36% disagree and 20% are not sure.

According to news reports, only $36 billion of the stimulus plan had been spent as of late May.

Just 20% of adults say the tax cuts included in the stimulus plan should be canceled while 55% disagree. The stimulus plan includes $288 billion in tax cuts.

Americans are coming to understand…little by little.
