Death, taxes & Obamacare: Poster contest, Round Two
We kicked off the Obamacare poster contest yesterday with some fantastic entries — spearheaded by Scott G. at Ah, Shoot.
Readers have risen to the challenge! Here’s round two. Vote on your favorite. Print ‘em out. Spread the word. Counter the ACORN/SEIU mob taking to the streets to take over your health care. Resistance must be met not just in the halls of Congress, but in your neighborhoods, at the grocery store, in your car window, everywhere at the grass-roots level:

Those are hilarious! Especially Rosie the Reamer!
WOW…several of those are WAY COOL…!!!
I REALLY like the one from Rachel in KY…excellent Art Deco/fascist edge.
I gotta vote for my own… “Here it comes!”
…but Rachel from Kentucky’s is really sharp. I’m thinking about putting it up in my office to rile the guy across the hall.
I don’t have access to it right now but somewhere I have a picture of a billboard outside of a town that said “This town has 2 funeral homes and no clinics. Remember that while driving through.”
i my experience, the wait for hip replacements is actualy 2 years.
Not three.
Oh this is fun! I do love seeing others’ photoshop skizzles!
I sent three to Michelle, and she posted my least favorite one. Oh, well…
I like all of the submissions. We got some talented people on this blog, don’t we?
Those are all pretty good.
This goes to show you just how powerful satire/mockery is…
…and just how necessary it is right now for us to use.
“Bend Over. This will only take a second.”
Which medical plan will BO and MO get?
Outstanding!!!
BINGO!
Affordable government health care…. the oxymorons are getting longer.
Do you want medical treatment or “health care”?
Fellow MMers—
I think ridiculing a narcissist like Soetoro and his emotionally dysfunctional “wife” is a perfect counter-strategy for his raised-chin approach to the Nation’s affairs.
The mainstream media may not carry our drumbeat on their news “cycle”, but you have to believe that the scumbags in Soetoro’s Propaganda Ministry are combing these blogs.
Keep the satire and ridicule flowing. We are good at it. And unlike the Code Stinkies who could only chant “war criminal”, we are so much more sophisticated at hitting this Small Boy where it hurts— in his cover story that says he is articulate, intelligent, and (as his boyfriend Sean Penn said) elegant.
Limericks can be fun and lasting. Here’s one
from Doug in Iowa:
“There once was a boy named Barry
Who some say to this day is a fairy.
With a mask as his foil
To hid his turmoil
He persuaded a Clingon to marry.”
You get the idea. Yes, I know, it “attacks” him personally. But the whisper is out there about our Young Boy President. He is a creature of secrets. Nail it.
Satire and ridicule accomplish something important
against the politically impotent (and this sleight of hand ram-it-down-the voters’-throat tactic is politically impotent) : these rhetorical tools impugn the source of the ideas, policies, laws, and public statements.
Bear1909 out.
The First 100 Days of the Boy Presidency are over. It was a fast and loose trip down the rapids of a raging river of emotions.
But now the Presidential Dinghy is in the cross currents and tides of a shark-filled ocean it isn’t familiar with. After all, The Boy President was not even a US Senator for a full 365 days on the job. What does he know?
And now, his Chrysler deal is being “slowed down” and being read line by line. It may not hold up. At least it will raise more questions than there appear to be answers for. Our Young Boy Prodigy President is nervously standing in the living room filled with adults who have a copy of his “term paper” now, that he did in a hurry so he could go out and play. Auntie Ruth is wagging it at him. “Much to do yet. Much to do indeed, my dear Boy.”
Obamacare will tank if we slow it down. We are a major cross-current that the ill-fated crew of the Obama Dinghy believed they could defeat and master if they only had a big enough head of steam.
Welcome to Washington, Little Barry Soetoro. May we see some i.d. please?
Bear1909 out
I concur with others here who are stating that satire and mockery are effective tools. They are. The left is now the status quo, and those in power have a need to be taken seriously.
The day any politician says, “We have to get health care cost under control so we are going to put serious limits on malpractice law suits and the process of filing and paying for those law suits…” on THAT day, I will believe them. Not until.
I would like to invite Rachel from KY to contact me at
starvethebeast1@gmail.com
Anyone else is invited, too.
While you folks are fooling around with posters – check what your guy Rush is up to:
Boycotting GM – yep, the American car company that needs our help; and do you know why?
Because he doesn’t want Obama/Americans to succeed.
“Limbaugh appears to be openly admitting that the purpose of this is economic and political sabotage — to prevent President Obama from succeeding at something.”
I sure am glad he’s a republican:
http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/06/right-wingers-to-boycott-gm.php?ref=fpa?2009
Screw ‘em, and the fascist horse they rode in on.
did someone fart?
Are you just as glad that Harry “the war is lost” Reid is a Democrat?
Or that Nancy “The CIA lies to Congress all the time” Pelosi is a Dem?
Spacey, cut that out! My co-workers are going to wonder why I’m laughing so hard!
These are fantastic! Here’s one more.
Sure. But he’s not alone. Hugh Hewitt is boycotting GM AND CHRYSLER, as am I.
The reason is that we won’t give our custom to any company that has been subverted to the fascist corporatist collective.
None of my dollars will EVER be spent to further enrich the corrupt UAW.
You beat me to it.
As I read a few weeks ago – here, I believe:
Capitalism – the private sector – punishes incompetence, bad decisions, and bad behavior; socialism – government control – rewards them.
“Because he doesn’t want Obama/Americans to succeed.”
Those 2 things are not connected. Obama failing is America succeeds. Rush wants America to succeed.
My wife and I bought a 2009 Penske VUE over the weekend. Saturn is going to end up the only US automaker not nationalized or in deep trouble. Too bad they don’t make a pickup.
Ford is still standing.
Saturn, being aware of consumer demand, will have a truck and larger SUV line before long…if allowed to.
They have the Outlook. We were downsizing.
While you’re busy whining about everything a political talk show entertainer is saying – check what your boy BO (President of the U.S.) is up to.
And GM, like any other business, *does* need to fail if it doesn’t have a successful business model.
Lastly, Rush did not say he wants to “prevent Obama from succeeding at something” in regards to GM. Did you even read the transcript?
He even predicted what people like you would say:
GM needs help for sure – they need a management team with brains and balls. Their revenue is essentially that of Ford (mid 40 billions), yet they have something like 287,000 workers to Ford’s 55,000 or so. That means they need a management team that will cut 230,000 unneeded jobs in order to remain competitive. Yes, those people will be temporarily out of work. No, they may never get an $80 an hour job again, but that’s how progress is made – the new supplants the old. Times change. 1.5 billion Chinese are eating your lunch, arugula and all.
BTW – the topic is healthcare, and Obamacare will resemble GM, 5 times as many workers as needed, with products no one wants.
Scott’s “Rosie” definitely sums up what’s about to happen to this country!! One vote for Scott!
GM is an American auto company? Did anybody tell China?
The artwork on these psoters is great. Must be nice to have some talent. And a good photo manipulation software.
That kool aid must be good tasting, wonder, have the drinkers of such noticed how toxic it is to the brain? Ihatemyself is a good example of drinking the kool aid, it seems to effect the eyes and ones ability to see and reason facts vs. propaganda.
GM’s problem: excess capacity. The UAW is begging to be broken because it IS broken.
Great posters, sarcastic, but yet humorous look at the bleak medical future we have in store for us with Onobamacare.
My contribution
Bear,
Nice to see you playing!
S-cakes: ROFLMBO
Socialized Rationed Health Care is bad enough. What really makes it extra horrific is that it’s being pushed by people who think it’s okey-dokey to pull babies apart.
I wonder if Michelle’s readers spend as much time buttonholing their Senators and Congressfolks as they do making and laughing at these posters?
They already got billions in help. BTW only 48% of GM customers want to buy GM again and that was BEFORE rush said that. So blame rush all you want, but I don’t plan to buy GM unless they are the best deal. With the unions controling them, thats not likely.
Oh, I do! Lately I’ve been swapping emails with Udall about the
HateThought Crimes legislation he’s co-sponsoring. He doesn’t seem to understand that people should be prosecuted for their behavior, rather than what they think.Dude, I have spent far more than my fair share of time calling my representative dolts, knowing full well everything I have to say falls on deaf ears. But I still keep doing it.
Sometimes a creative outlet helps me vent.
Who let michael moore on this blog?
The Obamateur motto: “To save our healthcare system, we have to kill it.”
Why would any sane person expect Socialized Medicine to work any better than Social(ized) Security?
As if I would account to you what my strategies, tactics and actions are to fight for Liberty.
Pish.
Bear1909out.
Maybe you should quote something a little less liberally rabid.
If you actually listened to the show, which no liberal ever honestly does, you would understand precisely what Rush is/was talking about with regard to GM and Obambi.
Like the man said, “who are you going to believe, me, or your lying eyes?” (or in this case, ears)
Rush needs to catch up. I was saying that two months ago.
ANY corporation propped up, partially owned or fully owned by the government does not get my business.
Follow-up question: When we invaded Iraq, before the trail element had crossed the line of departure, The Left was screaming for Presidnet Bush to provide an Exit Strategy to get out of Iraq.
So…….. what’s the Exit Strategy to get out of Chrysler, GM, the Financial Industry, and every other element of the private sector that Obama has inserted himself? He CLAIMS to want to get out, so, WHAT IS THE PLAN?
Good point. Another question: What would be the purpose of a Pay Czar, if the intent of the various bailouts were temporary?
flmom,
BINGO!
Great question!
The President’s name is Obama.
As a boy was left by his mama.
His preaching Imam
Cried God to us damn.
Now he’s allied with Osama.
We, like Michelle and other smart conservatives, know that wars are won in the culture at least as much as they are won on the field.
I love the first one from Rachel! I should have signed up for the Photoshop class at school! I’ve got to learn how to do this!!
zero care is the road to disaster. but the clown prince doesn’t care.
zerocare mediocrity and less, at its best.
First one by Rachel.
Like the eagle with the Obama logo…but it is more like a phoenix rising above the ashes of our healthcare.
ILoveMyMuslim,
Rush is right- but not for the reason you accuse. Any business model that can not stand on its own should fail. Propping up the unions encourages union largess and will drag other companies down if not shown to be an unsustainable model. I will not buy any of their products until they abandon unions.
This is a typical MSM attitude. Whatever Dear Leader supports, they will push. It will be a battle to beat them, congress and Obama.
Is the news right? BHO is going to start taking back TARP money from the banks? The 60% above what was projected unemployment must have him shaken up a bit. China has become skittish, guess they realized that you can’t squeeze blood from a stone and when the paper the bonds are written on are worth more than the bond themselves, what do you do? Well, at least they can drive around in their hummers now. Looks like Rush got his wish, BHO’s policies are failures and he must know it to start abandoning the ownership of the financial institutions. Public approval is dying, GM takeover did not go over as well as he thought. I think he might have gotten away with it if he had not given the company to the corrupt union with the hearings where people found out how much a whiny spoiled UAW worker makes, much more than most average Americans. Not only all the money they make, but to find out the work they do is almost completely automated. We need to make sure the SEIU does not get to take over healthcare now, there maybe some light on the horizon.
Frontierguy:
My understanding is that they will take back the money, but keep the warrants.
Warrants = control
You could use this WWII movie poster, without modification…
http://www.impawards.com/1945/posters/they_were_expendable.jpg
First we had the Hillarycare
and that gave us all a pretty good scare
but now Obama takes the dare
with his nose in the air
in his socialist lair
he says rich folk must now pay the fare
but the markets are bear
and procedures will be rare
when we’re caught in his Obamacare snare
but when girding your pair
and J-No label you wear
remember the tortoise beat the hare
Motto: Speed kills- slow down
I tried but y’all gots mad PS skills LOL I sent a second one after my first pathetic attempt but..oh well.
BTW and a little OT, please forgive:
I’m trying to help out a friend from being homeless soon, very soon, if you can take a look here I would appreciate it:
http://mylastshredsofsanity.blogspot.com/2009/06/its-contest-its-raffle-its-fundraiser.html
Oh, I hope I’m not too late.
Here’s my addition.
Thanks, what a hoot. To bad they are all TRUE
My favorite is the one from Erin F.
The hollow eyed thousand yard stare, now to be caused by economic despair.
yeah, got updated, if i was a bank ceo and gave the money back i would write on the for part of the check to go sit and spin. I think of They Might Be Giants:
You ain’t the boss of me now,
You ain’t the boss of me now,
You ain’t the boss of me now and you’re not so big.
I loved the message in the “Is Your Trip Necessary” poster. Sadly, this is probably going to be a very real message, albeit with a more modern background image, should this astonishing (er…extraordinary) increase of Leviathan’s power and reach actually happens.
Has anyone done a count of the One’s use of the word “extraordinary” and its other forms, usually “extraordinarily”?
His use of that word has become the only thing I focus upon when he speaks. I wait for it to inevitably come rolling out of his mouth, like a bystander calling something “amazing” or a teenager saying “it was, like,…”
Aaaaagghhhhh! (That was my Charlie Brown impression.)
Don’t you mean 4 years?
Erin F gets my vote as well.
Heck, I think I’ll vote several more times…
Another poster effort. Hey, this is kind of fun!
Medical tourism: medicine is so expensive in the US that people travel abroad for major procedures.
If I remember correctly, Fidel Castro – another supposed champion of a “great” health care system – didn’t use said system when he was sick a few years ago. I wonder how many average Cubans get doctors from all over the world flown in to treat them, hm?
But, Sicko said Cuba’s healthcare system is the best… so it must be true, right???
Print them out and spread the word? You got it! There are enough posters here to share on blogs for Wordless Wednesday for the rest of the summer. Giving credit where it’s due OF COURSE! These are GREAT!
I like the tattoo on her neck, nice touch.
Ah,…the old Sybil again.
And, as usual, with loads of corroborating material for a foolish statement (i.e., sort of a thrown bomb).
Since we’re posting our own entries now, here are two more of mine which didn’t make the cut. (But I still like them.)
Medical tourism? LGM, you’re not even trying with that post.
How can you post such nonsense when every objective media outlet there is documents the lag time between patient diagnosis and treatment being measured in terms of days in the US, as opposed to months in Britain, Europe, Africa, Canada & South America and Eurasia?
DBNinKY said (#82):
Read the NYTimes Op/Ed page today. Or does that fall outside your “objective media” category?
Google “national health care comparison” and you will discover that US health care is worse on average than health care in other developed countries.
I vote for Nice Deb’s…it strikes very close to home!
LGM, I have lived in socialist medicine. I can tell you right now this last statemnt is complete crap.
I have LIVED it. Have you?
What do you think?
Then why do they come here for diagnosis and treatment?
No, I will not waste my time googling what I know is not true.
I have family and in-laws – some in the medical profession – living by choice and/or are stationed in Britain, Gemany, and Spain, and I know what they face when they even attempt to see a physician in those countries with just a simple head cold; I can’t imagine what it would be like to be outside this country with the actual emergency of a heart attack or or personal injury. Besides, we all know Google leans Left in presenting options/sites, and is as unreliable and misleading as Wiki in presenting skewed data to the ill-informed.
And what’s with your running down the medical services this nation has to offer? The best doctors, the latest medical innovations, and the most comprehensive medicines and treatment course are here and available to all – let’s keep it that way.
Naw… lgm just flings poo from his monkey tree and hopes it sticks.
I did, from the results I got, it was clear LGM didn’t.
laughable…
Barack Obama …
The BOHICA “President”.
RWR
http://www.rightwingrocker.com
Same as if they were temporary …
To dictate how much money people should be allowed to make.
An elected dictatorship is a dictatorship nonetheless.
RWR
http://www.rightwingrocker.com
Wasn’t the editor of the NYT who compared obama to god???
My bad, that was the editor of newsweek.
Good post.
That silly fool uses “comparisons” by socialist organizations as corroboaration; but ignores foreigners who vote with their (often or usually) OWN POCKETBOOK and with their feet to come here to the U.S. for treatment.
It’s like trying to have a reasoned debate-style, evidence-supported argument/discussion with a rock!
So, Um, I take it that rock is not granite, right?
God, I hope not!
During that google, you might also find articles on how the World Health Org did their rankings. “It more accurately can be described as a ranking system inherently biased to reward the uniformity of “government” delivered (i.e. “socialized”) health care, independent of the care actually delivered.”
Not surprisingly, one of the criteria is availability to all citizens. Since socialized countries “cover” all citizens, that one category shoots them right to the top. In the good ol USA, we do have coverage available but not everybody is covered. Most of their own choice, so that drops us a lot. They don’t have proper categories for “access” to health care, how long it takes, who decides, and what your options are if you don’t agree. The USA would win that criteria hands down and be at the tip top of that list.
As a matter of fact, the last WHO ranking that LGM cites was in year 2000. That was the last year they did rankings because they couldn’t properly calculate all the criteria to get a good ranking.
Hear that LGM, they can’t get a GOOD ranking system. You are basing your usual moronic assumption on BAD data. Dig a little deeper man, if you really want the truth, which I doubt. You have taken a position and are only trying to make your decision look good for yourself. Open up your mind and let some of the stupidity seep out. Be more liberal thinking man, not just spout moronic superlatives. Free yourself!
Just amusing myself….
Go to wolframalfa and type in “malignant neoplasms” “rate of death” and it’ll give helpful suggestions for search terms, then spit out death rates per 100000 some of which are below:
Hungary 314
Denmark 294
Italy 268
Germany 264
United Kingdom 256
France 238
Sweden 237
Switzerland 216
Canada 208
Belarus 204
United States 192
Iceland 187
So at least for cancer the full list shows 38 countries where your chances are worse than here – and all the “Best Places” the MSM blathers about are worse.
