This is an awesome speech. I love Jon Voight, and he is right on target. I want to hear more from him, and hope he goes into politics soon.

But, GOD!! Are the people in this audience totally asleep? We need new blood in the GOP. These people are beyond unmotivated.

He lost me around 4:30 when he said, "My most pressing concern at this hour is the safety of Israel."

We have troops in combat, democrats pushing legislation that will alter our nation forever, and a collapsing economy. But this guy's most pressing issue is Israel?

Yes - JSMiddleton4 - #76: I understand your points and I agree with you. We need to define ourselves as Americans who love our country and we need to tell others that conservatism is the ONLY way we can defend and preserve liberty and freedom. I would love to see a complete shift away from the "Republican" party to the American Freedom party. Thanks for your informative post.

I think Voight should read articles like this which explains how we came to such deficits since last 8 years before just blaming someone on putting a huge burden on our grandkids.

I am sick of such scumbag RINO's who just blame the other party and then continue to do the same out of control spending when its their turn at power. Where was he in last few years...preparing for this speech or just hanging out with his sleazeball (from both parties) friends?

Jon made a fantastic movie in the last year or so called "September Dawn".

It was not promoted much, but as I like him, went to see it and I can recommend it to everyone. Superb.

I want to add this comment that at first may not sound quite right. I've heard of few of these Hollywood folks whom we want to label as "conservatives" speak and I offer this what I think is critical piece of information.

None of these folks have signed up for nor is there some "Conservative" club that they joined. None of them have stepped forward to be official spokesmen/women of some conservative party. They have not publically made some "I value the conservative party" statements.

Stick with me.....

The common element that I have heard from all of them is what they have done publically and in their personal lives is made it clear they value personal and creative freedom and liberty. It is their value of personal and creative freedom and liberty that led them to embrace conservative ideology and politics.

This is not one of those hair splitting comments. No, really, its not.

It is critical in terms of moving forward and continuing to grow the conservative movement. What we value, what needs to be "sold" if you will, is FREEDOM and LIBERTY. We are not out to sell the Republican Party or any conservative "party", etc. We need to start at the beginning, the very first notes if you will. The do re me....

The first note is FREEDOM. When you value freedom you move to understanding the group of principles and ideas that form conservatism. Conservatism is not just an argument about pro-life or how to spend taxes.

As I've heard these public figures speak and sound "conservative" it is because as you listen to their words you hear that they have put two and two together and realized conservatism yields the most freedom and liberty.

It is therefore not surprising to me that Hollywood folks who want to be as free creatively as possible finally get it. Finally understand that leftist socialist Democrats are oppressive and conservative principles are preferred.

Our message IF we are going to continue to reclaim our country and move forward in continued prosperity is FREEDOM. If we only sell a political party or even political ideology, we will fail.

I hope that makes sense.

Second that emotion...

Newtie has become a power-hungry pol, instead of the leader he once was.

I will always remember him in Runaway Train, standing on top of the Locomotive speeding to the end of track staring death in the face head on. I think he is back on that train only he is running head on into the Hollywood Lefties. Great actor and Great American.

Amazing how simply saying Truth is so difficult.
Charlton Heston's Warner Brother's speech was a little more difficult when he merely spoke the nasty, disgusting lyrics from one "rapper" "song".
