It’s all a freaking game to dirty old David Letterman.

“We were, as we often do, making jokes about people in the news and we made some jokes about Sarah Palin and her daughter [Bristol]… and now they’re upset with me…” Letterman says on tonight’s show. “These are not jokes made about her 14-year-old daughter. I would never, never make jokes about raping or having sex of any description with a 14-year-old girl…. Am I guilty of poor taste? Yes. Did I suggest that it was okay for her 14-year-old daughter to be having promiscuous sex? No.” Saying he hopes he’s “cleared part of this up,” Letterman extended an invitation to Palin to come on the show as a guest.
Palin has one word for the attacks: “Pathetic.”
I would add:

David Letterman has become a miserable and unhappy person. All he does is cut down people for the most part except for his liberal buddies. He is of the ilk that believes I have mine, but you are going to get yours.
I have noticed he does not do his “Great Moments in Presidential Speeches” for Obama. He would have to show how much worse Obama is with his telepromter and Biden with his foot in his mouth, versus Bush making mistakes without the using the telepromter and/or the media trying to trip him up.

I just sent an email to Letterman, or the feedback part on the site, telling them exactly what I think of this horrible, humorless, mean-spirited individual.

Also, I’ve had many gay friends and work associates…only had one experience where they disliked women, and he didn’t like anybody. For the most part, a female represents no threat or competition whatsoever.

I remember when Letterman started out (his show was actually started out as a morning program) he was VERY funny. The stuff he had on was hilarious, and he didn’t do the ugly political crap that he does today. Even when his program went into the late nights (with NBC–after the Johnny Carson show), he still had the comedic edge, and I liked staying up and watching him.
Now, all I see is a very angry, deeply hateful person, who has given up what he used to do to be a political tool. Frankly speaking, I can’t imagine anyone with a sense of humor or a brain spending any time watching this miserable person anymore. I believe I stopped watching him entirely since around the early 90’s.
I agree. I have never liked Letterman and I stopped watching Tonight Show because they just will not stop trashing Bush. I know a certain amount of it is just presidential humor, but when I cannot turn on a late night show without hearing a Bush joke, it is way too much. Especially when he is gone. So, no more late night for me.
I used to enjoy the evening news too. But, alas, no more biased crap for me. I even quit reading the newspapers. When will these people learn? Never. They would rather go down in flames still spewing biased, left wing one sided bs. If I want to be brainwashed, I will just move to North Korea.

Watched the apolgy video. Lame and insulting. Gotta love how he pretends it was not her daughter Willow at the game, but her daughter Bristol. I quit watching Letterman more than a year ago when he began letting his politics seep into the show at every opportunity. Screw him. I am planning on sending e-mails to the corporate sponsers I can identify informing them I will avoid their products at every opportunity as long as they have a connection to his show. And saying he is sorry in his lame way does not cut it at all.

To be fair, I remember SNL doing some very tasteless jokes about Chelsea, of course it was back when SNL spoofed everyone, before they became an only republicans can be joked about show. I do remember though, they were kinda nasty about Chelsea, making jokes referring to her as ugly and an elitist. I thought it was very poor taste and completely classless to pick on a young girl. It was one of the reasons I became a Mad TV junkie on Saturday night. I agree though, today it is only a Republican and their families jokefest. I am going to let CBS know how I feel, but I never watch their failed network anyway.
You know what is sad? Letterman is a typical liberal democrat. The disease that causes cultural decay (mainstream broadcast television) is ten times as virulent with them than it is with other segments of our civilization.

I do not believe the so-called “apology” offered by David Letterman on Wednesday’s show is sufficient. Sadly, the entire controversy is far too symbolic of the conservative-mocking, disdain-fueled bile that Mr. Letterman has been getting away with over the past several years. It is one thing if Mr. Letterman sees fit to berate in-person guests like Bill O’Reilly, who is more than capable of defending himself. But for Mr. Letterman to make the statements he did about Governor Palin and her 14 year old daughter (or any of Governor Palin’s daughters!) is beyond the pale. Further, his Top Ten List crack about Palin’s supposed “slutty flight attendant” look was completely uncalled for. May I remind CBS and Mr. Letterman how many brave flight attendants met their deaths on 9/11 – some, like Betty Ong, after calmly providing valuable details of the hijackings? Or that many people were saved in the emergency landing of a U.S. Air flight in the Hudson in part due to the heroic actions of 3 flight attendants? I, for one, would like to see more serious repercussions for Mr. Letterman following this week’s disgraceful slams, and it is my hope that many others will agree with me and vote with their televisions. I will not be back. Ever.

My wife watched their show yesterday and had not yet checked any news online. When I brought up what Letterman said about Palin she said she already knew about “it” — about buying slutty flight attendant’s clothes at Bloomingdales.
No wifey! I toldja to stop watching shows like that one. The “it” is NOT about Bloomingdales or sluts or flight attendants, “it” is about Letterman’s inference of statutory rape of Willow Palin by Axelrod.
So how can ET mention this Letterman non-apology now when their ‘report’ yesterday was so totally off the mark about “it”?

The thing is, Letterman is so viciously private about his own personal life. I heard on the radio this morning that they (the morning show crew) interviewed a guy who worked with Letterman who didn’t know he got married until well after the fact!
How many pictures of his wife and son have we really seen?
Now, I think it’s his right to expect a healthy measure of privacy. Anyone should. And I’d be disgusted if someone made comments or threats about his son.

I really miss Johnny Carson!! I assume he was a “leftie”, but you would never have known it watching his show. He was just plain funny. Many of his jokes run through my mind to this day and I laugh all over again. Letterman, Conan O’brien (who is quite funny at times) and even Leno are very political on their shows now and I don’t watch any more. I tuned into Conan’s new show to see what it was like and had to turn it off when he almost immmediately made a stupid and very tasteless political joke. I guess they are too ignorant to realize they are alienating half the country who might otherwise be watching them. They are so wrapped up in their extreme ideology, they don’t care that their shows are not even being watched any more.
Most who post here are well aware of both the viciousness and ignorance of the left – and Letterman is the perfect example of this premise.
If CBS had any ethics, he would be gone now. I am sure that there are provisions in his contract regarding termination for cause, and his comments and behavior regarding Palin and her family are quite good reasons for exercising the termination clause.
The sad part here is that this episode and likely conclusion reflects the continuing chaos associated with the destruction of any social and moral standards and provides the very reason for the rise in socialistic big government.
I regret that Letterman did not tell the joke to Sarah’s face on the show, then we all could’ve enjoyed watching as Sarah gutted Dave from crotch to eyeball with a dull deer antler! You betcha!

Lets start a campaign to assign Letterman’s face to the DNC in the same way the left has attempted to assign Rush’s face to the RNC.
Not surprising considering that those same people stood in line all day waiting for the free tickets to the show.

Consider the source AND have you ever been inside the studios where these TV shows are taped? The audience in real life is quite small. On TV it looks like a ton of folks. That is a manipulation of what TV does. No its not one or two people. At the same time its not a big group either. In other words clapping from the type of people that would go to any of these shows is not indicative of much of anything. Other than maybe the applause sign went on.

I find it interesting that there is no thread on the firing of Carrie Prejean. Between Letterman and Donald Trump, you have the radical left hiding behind the smokescreen of political correctness.

Let’s be careful here about not being outraged victims looking for a target. That is what the left does, not what we conservatives do.
Yes it was inappropriate, could probably call it hate speech. But we are not the out of control angry mob. We are on solid ground and with a firm foundation. That means we don’t get all out of whack when the left and their spokesman says thing that honestly reveal their world view.
This is a concerted effort to ruin Sarah Palins career.. Just like they do any up and coming Republican, look what they did to Delay, Gingrich, George Allen(R-VA), what they tried to to do Michele Bachmann, Jindal, etc. They will keep doing it until we stand up to them, IT IS TIME…

Not judging her actions. I actually think she is doing the right thing. However there is a contract and that contract spells stuff out very specifically.

I hope she hits EVERY other late night show to talk about Letterman’s sick sense of humor. Think how great it would be for her to tell Conan that Letterman couldn’t pay her enough to make an appearance.
