It must be strange for you folks: never leaving Ohio, no traveling, not even trying to understand what different cultures have to offer.

Ohio? Sorry, friend. I hail from deep blue Massachusetts. Kennedy country (ick!). And I bet I have more well stamped current and retired passports than you, and my experiences with said countries make me appreciate the U.S. more than anything else.

Here’s one for ya - Laughing Yoga - I know, that’s the dumbest thing any of you have ever heard - while you people take your daily anti-depressant and sit in front of your tv.

Given the state of the liberal networks, particularly those charged with "reporting" the news, I can agree that one would require mega doses of anti depressants.

While being humorous, Limbaugh is right on the mark when he calls the networks "state media" outlets.

I know several people here who refuse to go for job advancement because they would loose too much money buying insurance.

And thus the working slave class was born. Welcome to the coming USSA.

Mostly Annoyed,

I feel your pain - in Holland it's the same. the Government assigns you a GP - then you are farmed out to a specialist for anything that goes beyond a band aid. Over here, once you make a certain amount of money, you and your family can no longer use socialized medicine and private health insurance is regulated by Government and heavily taxed so it is prohibitively expensive. I know several people here who refuse to go for job advancement because they would loose too much money buying insurance.

My favorite was when my 5 year old got pneumonia - they didn't want to give him antibiotics. They said they didn't like to play games with the possible resistance issues and I demonstrated what the term "Ugly American" actually meant. You libs can go off and be embarrassed by my actions all you want. I don't care because 20 minutes later, they produced antibiotics and a few hours after that, my son was well. The truth is, they refuse to give expensive drugs until the last minute hoping not to give them at all in a bid to save money.

Another personal favorite: You can buy Hash in any "coffeeshop" (they are everywhere) but you can't buy cold medicine here. My elderly neighbors beg me to bring them Ben Gay and Alieve from the States when I go. That's because American products work. The crap they sell here is designed to save the govt. money so it doesn't work at all.

Who do the Libs think will do the research for new meds? Who will discover the next breakthrough cancer treatment? The Government? Not likely.

This is what we have to look forward to. Thanks a lot Commies.

Once again, ILMC proves that, for Libs, bigotry knows no bounds.

Here’s one for ya - Laughing Yoga - I know, that’s the dumbest thing any of you have ever heard - while you people take your daily anti-depressant and sit in front of your tv.

How about "flying yoga"? John Lennon briefly was fooled:

...it was sex, not money, that proved to be the final straw. Accusations surfaced that the Maharishi had been improper in his relations with female members of the ashram, ...Lennon, angered by the allegations, wrote the song Sexy Sadie about the guru, which included the lyrics such as “Sexy Sadie what have you done / You made a fool of everyone” and “Sexy Sadie you'll get yours yet / However big you think you are”. ...TM claimed to be useful in reducing crime and was adopted by government agencies that awarded grants of thousands of dollars. It was even adopted in 1975 by public high schools, but in 1977 a US court declared the movement to be religious, and in breach of the First Amendment guaranteeing separation of Church and State.
Despite claims of fraud by disaffected former disciples in the 1980s, and increasingly outlandish claims about the power of TM - whose disciples supposedly could hover in the air through “yogic flying”- the movement continued to expand. With the advent of video the Maharishi embraced the new technology ... As his empire grew, so did his ambition, and increasingly he talked of forming a world government to further his goal of world peace.
With this in mind, in the 1990s the TM movement formed the Natural Law Party, which fielded candidates in Britain, the US, Canada and Australia. The party sought to combine politics and TM on a platform based on the appealing, if unlikely, promise of low taxes for all and the complete elimination of disease, crime and pollution. ... In December 2000 the Natural Law Party was disbanded, amid jokes about the failure of yogic flyers to win over floating voters.

And it’s too bad, too, since no one commenting here seems to have any idea what meditation actually is or what it’s for.

As best as I can tell it is an alternative to rational thought.
