Update: Ahmed and Sadequee’s jihad adventure

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 10, 2009 01:23 PM

The journey of one homegrown jihadist has come to an end. You may remember the forgotten Muslim terrorist wanna-bes in Georgia (click for background). Well, Syed Ahmed is headed for the graybar hotel:

Ahmed, a 24-year-old former Georgia Tech student, was convicted of conspiring to provide material support to terrorists. During his trial last week, prosecutors introduced into evidence e-mails and Internet chats during which Ahmed said he wanted to engage in violent jihad.

In the summer of 2005, Ahmed went to Pakistan to join a terrorist training camp, but changed his mind and returned to Atlanta, re-enrolling at Georgia Tech. Federal prosecutors said that after Ahmed returned, he regretted not joining the camp and considered returning to Pakistan to follow through with his plans.

In a statement, U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said Ahmed’s case did not involve an imminent threat to the United States, “because in the post-9/11 world we will not wait to disrupt terrorism-related activity until a bomb is built and ready to explode.”

“The fuse that leads to an explosion of violence may be long, but once it is lit – once individuals unlawfully agree to support terrorist acts at home or abroad – we will prosecute them to snuff that fuse out,” Nahmias said. “This investigation is connected to arrests and convictions of multiple terrorist supporters in Atlanta and around the world – all before any innocent people were killed.”

Ahmed will be sentenced after the Aug. 3 trial of his alleged co-conspirator, Ehsanul Islam Sadequee of Roswell.

Take note:

During his time at the penitientiary, her brother has memorized the Quran and strengthened his faith, she said….Ahmed waived his right to a jury trial so he could give his closing argument. During his allotted 45 minutes, he recited from the Quran in Arabic and told Duffey that using U.S. laws to defend himself would put him in rebellion against God.

Maybe he hopes she’ll dishonor the family by going to school and he can kill her.

But.. if the fuse is long enough … I think it makes more sense to just wait for it to burn a little bit further in order to justify killing them in action. AND – doing that may sometimes lead to nailing a few more of them along the way.

It’s one thing to plan a bank heist but quite another when you show up at the bank with safe cracking tools.

Good idea. Taxpayers would just need to cough up an additional $11,764,705.88 to include him with that shipment. Chump change.

As soon as The B.O. gets sharia law passed, the poor misunderstood muslims will never have to face this type of injustice again.

So, when will the liberal argument that Syed The Incompetent, was simply engaging in fantasy show up?

Can one even argue that he is not a threat? Much like the Playboy Mag. writer’s missive, wasn’t he only musing about “hatef*cking” Western civilization, and taking pictures of those conservative Western monuments to further his fantasy?
