Some time ago, Don Surber (Hat tip: Michelle Malkin) wrote about why some leftists have a hatred of conservative women, to the point that they’d even make vile remarks about wanting to rape them, following a very repugnant article published on Playbo….

For the record – Y’all is a contraction of You all and therefore a pronoun. It’s use is always plural.

In other words, when giving directions to a group of two or more people, it is always acceptable to say, “Y’all come over here and sit down.” However, if you are talking to only one person, it is incorrect to use “Y’all”. The correct Southern would be to drop the pronoun all together and say, “Come over here and sit down.” Using “Y’all” in a singular situation puts a big fat “Yankee” sign on your head.

Kind of like putting ketchup on grits.

There is nothing wrong with being a Yankee. However, just ’cause you have seen someone on TV say it that way doesn’t make it right.
