Bloomberg hearts ACORN thugs

NY ACORN head honcho Bertha Lewis plants one on NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Next time, get a room.

Big Nanny NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg loves the left-wing zealots at ACORN.

Anita MonCrief reports on the long love affair in the Hot Air Green Room:

Bloomberg’s relationship with ACORN spans a number of years and goes back to when Bertha Lewis, ACORN’s CEO and Chief Organizer, was the Executive Director of the New York ACORN. Though Lewis and Bloomberg have engaged in the occasional street theater, they have managed to push through lucrative deals including the highly controversial Atlantic Yards project. A deal so financially lucrative to ACORN that it earned Bloomberg a kiss on the lips.

And the New York Post editorial board today spotlights “Mike’s favorite thugs:”

The ongoing Senate circus in Albany is pure farce at its most absurd, but at one point this week, things turned downright ugly.

On Thursday, some 150 protestors — many of them from the thuggish far-left group ACORN — turned up outside the Senate chamber and actually assaulted members of the Republican faction.

The demonstrators nearly knocked to the floor Sen. James Alesi (of upstate Monroe County); they also spat in the face of his chief of staff, according to published reports.

Not only was this violence uncalled for, the ACORN crowd shouldn’t even have been there in the first place: The Senate lobby is a restricted area, and public protests are explicitly prohibited.

Caution: Big Government/welfare state bedfellows at work.

Yes, I did DBNinKY. People knock O’Reilly for being a blowhard (which he can be at times and I watch because at least he puts these powerful people’s feet to the fire) but that interview was a sight to behold. It really exposes the lack of basic honesty about why liberal women support abortion and the little half-truths (or frankly lies) they tell themselves to make the support palatable.

The very fact that he asked her three times if late-term babies should be given protections and she couldn’t answer it until up to the last minute she basically said that late-term babies should still be aborted was really amazing. Then she inserted how she knows all these women who had late-term abortions because of cancer or “crisis” (oh, really Joan?). And yet it won’t scar them for life or is okay because it’s “legal.” Anything can fall in line of jeopardizing the life of the mother. That’s the little loophole for those who support late-term abortion.

Interviews with Bill O’Reilly are never dull. He was getting noticeably upset. However, Walsh could see that the interview was getting away from her so she put up the assertion that if abortion should be illegal than so should guns. That’s when it all fell apart for her. I didnt’ know that the 2nd ammendment was now “illegal.” Apparently, Joan thinks it should be.

Hey, Joan, perhaps sex should come with a warning label: this might make you pregnant.

Obama has made it perfectly clear that his administration has no problem using racial violence against anyone who opposes or might oppose his rule. This is the real deal, folks. Dream on. Could Republicans mount a strong campaign against these kinds of attacks and actions? And I thought I had fantasies. Yeah, they could but they’re race pussies. Speaking of which, imagine a statement from Michael Steele (he won’t say anything, of course, but run with me on this):

While these kinds of isolated incidents are regrettable, they have only come about because of the ugly attacks by Rush Limbaugh and the Nazi-like activities of the Republican Party. I urge everyone on the Right to refrain from saying or doing anything that might provoke these kinds of incidents . . . .” And so forth.

There may well be elections in 2010 and beyond, who knows?, but I can say with absolute certainty that the democrats are going to do everything and anything they can to make them as meaningless as elections in Iran.

When New York billionaire Tom Golisano (whose tax liability rose to $13,000 per day as a result of the tax hike) announced that he would be moving to Florida (which has no state income tax), WFP Executive Director Dan Cantor Called Golisano’s move “selfish.” “It’s a disgrace,” said Cantor, “that this is how he pays back the state where he was presumably educated and that’s been so good to him. So who let the,m in? Just who is it that is continually allowing these Liberal hate-mongers and violent protesters into all these restricted areas in Government buildings? How many times recently has Code Pink and other violent Liberal hate-groups been permitted inside the Capitol building and into restricted areas only to accost and batter Republican/Conservative Senators and Congressmen and disrupt the goings on in the Senate or House?

Why aren’t those people being publicly exposed and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law? Look at what happened a couple of years ago at the State of the Union when these Leftie hate-mongers were given tickets in only to disrupt and insult those people they deem lower than themselves. Seems to me that if the Senators and Legislators were serious about these things, then they would expose, prosecute and expel whoever it is that is continually doing this, as well as making sure they are not re-elected by promoting their misdeeds during elections.

It is the boro of Staten Island that got Bloomberg elected both times because that is where the Republican base in NYC lives. So that is where Bloomy went to get the blessing of the Staten Island Republican Party as soon as he over threw the term limit restriction. The Staten Island Republicans apperently have no cojones and backed him right away, even though he has repeatedly belittled the Republican Party and “hates” the whole party system (hence his self stated “independent” label). I believe that the Republican Party on Staten Island either was paid off or is just afraid of this power hungry nanny-state nut case. Or both. Also, they think he will win and want the Republican label on him thinking that will make them stronger which is rediculous because Mayor Mike will throw that label away as soon as he gets elected again.
Problem is that the residents of Staten Island aren’t as quick to get behind Bloomberg as the Republican Party is. He is about to close a rather important Fire House there (all fire houses on Staten Island are important because is gets harder and harder to get around quickly with ever growing traffic not to mention the addition of hundreds of traffic lights…there seem to be one in front of every driveway here now…should have invested stock in the manufacturer). That along with the refusal to give the property tax rebates back last year (he relented after he realized he needed Staten Island to win) and his refusal to run the Staten Island Ferry every half hour 24/7 (after 1:30AM it is every hour until rush hour weekdays and from 8:00PM-10AM weekends) have not endured the mayor to Staten Islanders. Had the Republican Party done at least a little research they would have found that a viable candidate can beat Bloomberg. They have NO backbone.
I have mentioned here before that Mike Bloomberg right in front of me said “I hate Staten Island. If I ever have to go back there again it will be too soon….Thomplinsville…is like a Third World Country”.
At least the Staten Island Woodchuck on Ground Hog Day knew what to do with him….He BIT HIM!
