here’s a glimpse of our future health care system…

On some reservations, the oft-quoted refrain is “don’t get sick after June,” when the federal dollars run out. It’s a sick joke, and a sad one, because it’s sometimes true, especially on the poorest reservations where residents cannot afford health insurance. Officials say they have about half of what they need to operate, and patients know they must be dying or about to lose a limb to get serious care.

    link

I’m stunned this is on MSNBC…but health care is rationed. just like in Canada or britain. when are people going to understand that they must take care of themselves…and the government cannot take care of them??? social security, medicare, war on poverty…all colossal failures…ponzi schmes. I’m afraid this country needs to collapse like the soviet union.

American Indians have an infant death rate that is 40 percent higher than the rate for whites. They are twice as likely to die from diabetes, 60 percent more likely to have a stroke, 30 percent more likely to have high blood pressure and 20 percent more likely to have heart disease.

American Indians have disproportionately high death rates from unintentional injuries and suicide, and a high prevalence of risk factors for obesity, substance abuse, sudden infant death syndrome, teenage pregnancy, liver disease and hepatitis.

this is what happens when you give yourself over to being a ward of the government…

Iraq was of course a war of choice, because a choice had to be made to weigh the undeniable benefits against the undeniable negatives of the war. The American people (not just “the left”) overwhelmingly agree that the negatives has substantially outweighed the benefits.

My answer was, “We will do two things:

    1) Take out Al Queada in Afghanistan
    2) Invade and overrun Iraq

Anyone above the rank of 2nd Lieutenant knew those obvious facts. I guess you can say we had a choice. We culd have decided to lose the war on terror, but since we decided to win it, Iraq was
the logical, prudent thing to do.

The sacrifices will only be lost WHEN not IF Obama blow it. He’s off to a great start in that regard.

Here’s a good article by Frank DeMartini on our determinedly left-drifting government defying the right-trending electorate.

I would argue his point on how independents are becoming more conservative differently. It’s not that the independent voter is changing but that Republicans kicked conservatives out of the party and we had to go somewhere. It’s not that independents are becoming more conservative but that their ranks are swelling with those of us who re-registered independent. The GOP will never acknowledge our numbers but we now substantially outnumber the GOP weanies.

Both parties are completely committed to winning the independent vote while trashing their own “moderate” bases. So by populating the independent ranks in such dominant numbers, conservatives are effectively becoming the most important party. What a sweet irony. Proving again that there IS a God.

Both parties have sold their souls to the “big tent” hollowness of standing for everything in “reaching out” to independents. The irony of now being at war against the very voting bloc they both need to win elections is s-o-o-o-o-o delicious.

Our clueless entrenched class of corrupt weasels. Comedy and tragedy parading as virtue.

Wow you are good. You have an inside line to KJI, now you know exactly what the American people are thinking on any given day.

The American people were beaten over the head daily for years about the war in Iraq being lost, being bogged down in a quagmire, a war of choice, or it was misguided by the left. Not once has anyone on the left mentioned what would have happened had Saddam be left alone, what his people would have continued to suffer (always like how you and other leftists ignore that) and the pitiful state the UN would have been in for not doing anything about the sanctions they passed then and the corruption in the Oil-for-Food program.

What makes you think UN sanctions against the NorKs would have ANY teeth if Iraq had been left alone?

It is the limp-wristed action by the UN on sanctions (and the States that should demand enforcement) they have passed over the years that makes nutcases like KJI think they can get away with lobbing missiles anywhere he wishes.

I saw that “op-ed” piece this morning too, and it got my blood boiling. How they are trying to pin Von Kook as an extremist right wing nut is ridiculous. But of course, whatever they say, they’re hoping it will stick and stigmatize the rest of the conservatives in the US.

What’s interesting is, they are blaming people like O’Reilly, Limbaugh, and now Glenn Beck for “inciting” people to take action. He basically comes out and blames O’Reilly for Tiller’s murder because he called him Tiller the Baby Killer.

I did notice Rich left out that inconvenient little shooting that killed a soldier and wounded another my a Muslim extremist — he doesn’t count. Funny…I guess that guy didn’t fit into the “right wing” mold, but was completely left out of the domestic terrorism discussion. One that is much more frightening than anything else in this country. Let’s not forget the scheme to bomb the synagogues, etc., in NYC either. But you see, those weren’t right wing extremist folks, so let’s just bury that story.

Asked how a nuclear-armed Iran would affect their lives, 80 percent of respondents said they expected no change. Eleven percent said they would consider emigrating and 9 percent said they would consider relocating inside Israel.

Twenty-one percent of Israelis believe Iran “would attack Israel with nuclear weapons with the objective of destroying it,” the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), which commissioned the poll, said in a statement.

I’m not sure what your issue is with Petraeus. All he said is that if the Israeli/Palestinian conflict were resolved, Hezbollah’s stated reason for existing would disappear. What is wrong with that? All that is missing fpr Israel to agree to terms with most of the Arab world is for the Arabs to recognize Israel’s right to exist. How is Petraeus’ statement inconsistent with America’s official position?

I disagree. Even if in their presonal lives they have a personal faith, in practice their God is government. They clearly have a God, have rituals and sacrifices and allegiance and a priesthood, sets of beliefs, followers, etc., in a very organized way.

    Leftism is a religious system.

This is why it can not tolerate any system that worships the one true God. Worshipping the one true God is a threat to the left’s religion.

One of the reasons China is so vehemently opposed to real Christianity, not some state approved church system, is that the Chinese communist leaders perceive Christianity as a threat to their government and to communism. Leaders in China view real Christianity as radical. And it is precisely because you can’t worship the true God AND the State. One will always win out in terms of allegiance. As noted many times throughout the Bible, you can not serve two masters, have no other God before me, etc.

Is there no one who cares what is happening to the ultraconservative Swartzentruber Amish sect? Their religious freedoms are being taken away at this very moment and no one has even noticed.

Andy Swartzentruber just spent 90 days in jail and Sam Yoder may be next. The Millers and Swartzentrubers are now homeless because the government has put padlocks on their homes and barns. All this over the refusal of the Amish to modernize their outhouses. Could their be anything more symbolic of religious freedom than that?

Bring your pitchforks and torches (no modern stuff like six shooters or flashlights) and come standup for the Amish. If we don’t come to the aid of the Amish now, who will WE turn to when they come for us?
