Much love to everyone. Sunday at work is for the birds… and me.
Continuing to pray for our country and that those of us who are conservatives can demonstrate the kind of courage noted in Iran today. I fear there is unrest coming to us. It will be when the likes of the ACORN types lose power. They will start it. But it is coming. Courage.

You wanna see nuts…this is absolutely nuts. Check out the delusional claims, and then the attempt to suppress conservative speech.
Apparently, calling BIG BRO’s fascist economic policy what it is hits nerves.
In a discussion today at the local coffee shop, the subject came up as to how the Obama administration intended to cut medical cost. It is easy. Digitize all of the medical records (thank you Microsoft and GE), put them all in a central place. Then when the patient goes in for medical treatment, Universal Health Management run by the government, accesses the patients records and denies treatment if the patient is:
Over 35.
Has a three year record of the same disorder.
Requires long term care.
Is the son or daughter of the opposing political party.
Is not Hispanic, black or native American.
Is a legal resident of the United States.
Is not gay or lesbian.
Is on the Home Land Security Watch list.
Got a parking ticket in the last 5 years.
Owns a gun.
Had relatives killed in the Holocaust,
Complained about ACORN
Complained about CAIR.
Voted against the incumbent party.
Read Orwell’s 1984 and Ann Rand’s Atlas Shrugged
Does not accept the Freedom Act.
Believes marriage is between a man and a woman.
Gathers at coffee shops to hold discussions.
Put my flag out at dawn. As usual, I’m the only one in the area to display one…Norfolk area at that.
I would add:
“Has actually read and understands the Constitution.”
“Has at anytime in their lives listened to conservative talk radio.”
“Recieves Fox News on the cable channels.”
Display your American Flags!
May God the Father Almighty continue to bless our United States Army and all who defend our Beloved Country.
It’s my (retired) Army National Guard Colonel father-in-law’s birthday. I think being able to stay at home and enjoy his birthday is his favorite gift.
True story: While in BMT, his mother baked and sent him a birthday cake. He got to do push-ups while everyone else enjoyed it.
We always display the Flag at our home… but today is the day we retire one and raise the new. For some odd reason, the ‘worn’ flag always looks a little better to me. It’s been through the rough times, shows a little wear, but still receives the respect Old Glory is due. In any case, the new one goes up at noon.
Have a great day, all…
Wearing my flag pin, too! Teaching the children about the importance of Flag Day. Our local community center has typically held a Flag Day observance with military members in attendance, poetry readings, patriotic music, etc., but not this year. I hope it’s an exception this year and not a trend.
Happy Flag Day to all in this great country! Long may she wave!
And Happy Birthday to the U.S. Army!
We always fly the flag, 24/7, properly lit at night. A very Happy Birthday to all those in the Army who have and are now defending our Republic. Most American’s love all our military and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. God Bless America.
L
I would add:
Has read any of the following:
The Federalist Papers
The anti-Federalist Papers and the debates on the Constitution.
Commonsense and The Rights of Man by Thomas Payne.
Democracy in America by Alexis de Tocqueville
Since this is an open thread, I thought I would plug Thomas Sowell’s new book on the housing crisis, the event which led directly to the mess we are now in. You can read about the book here. Unfortunately, as far as I can see no one is discussing the book, anywhere. Certainly not over at the NRO which treats our greatest living conservative intellectual with contempt. The book is not long, not expensive. If you are interested, check it out and let us know what you think.
Sooooooo. Joe Biden says the sanctions against the NorKs need to be enforced:
Biden: Important to enforce NKorean sanctions
and even says the NorKs are destabilizing:
Boy that sounds awfully familiar….as if someone had been saying that about Iraq FOR SEVEN YEARS!
Yet to this day, the left still claims it was a war of choice.
In honor of Flag Day, I hereby give you the singing of our national anthem by “American Idol” runner up Adam Lambert at the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station. The USO ought to consider approaching him for a tour once he has completed his “Idol” obligations.

Happy 234th birthday to the U.S. Army.
“STRIKE FIRST, STRIKE HARD”
“SUSTAINING THE LINE”
Amen.
Happy Flag Day !! God Bless America!!
here’s a glimpse of our future health care system…
link
I’m stunned this is on MSNBC…but health care is rationed. just like in Canada or britain. when are people going to understand that they must take care of themselves…and the government cannot take care of them??? social security, medicare, war on poverty…all colossal failures…ponzi schmes. I’m afraid this country needs to collapse like the soviet union.
this is what happens when you give yourself over to being a ward of the government…
jase…
Maybe the addition should be “Coverage denied if you’ve ever read a book.”
I have a flag flying at my house everyday, but on special days (such as this) I raise the American flag that my unit gave me. It was flown over Iraq (at our motor pool) from Jan 2004 to Jan 2005.
Despite what you hear from the combover, we’re not going to war against a nutcase who can destroy Tokyo at any time. Just like KJI isn’t doing anything but making a big tantrum.
Iraq was of course a war of choice, because a choice had to be made to weigh the undeniable benefits against the undeniable negatives of the war. The American people (not just “the left”) overwhelmingly agree that the negatives has substantially outweighed the benefits.
So rather than fixing the serious problems in many federal programs due to lack of funding such as this…it’s best to create a MASSIVE new program so everyone is equally miserable.
Nitwits.
Thanks Betsy, you done good.
“…when are people going to understand that they must take care of themselves…and the government cannot take care of them???”
Some time after a whole bunch of folks in the political class stop getting elected by telling the “people” that the government is suppose to take care of them and if the government doesn’t, someone failed.
On the morning of September 12, 2001 my very worried wife asked me what was going to happen after the events of the prior day.
My answer was, “We will do two things:
1) Take out Al Queada in Afghanistan
2) Invade and overrun Iraq
Anyone above the rank of 2nd Lieutenant knew those obvious facts. I guess you can say we had a choice. We culd have decided to lose the war on terror, but since we decided to win it, Iraq was
the logical, prudent thing to do.
The sacrifices will only be lost WHEN not IF Obama blow it. He’s off to a great start in that regard.
Here’s a good article by Frank DeMartini on our determinedly left-drifting government defying the right-trending electorate.
I would argue his point on how independents are becoming more conservative differently. It’s not that the independent voter is changing but that Republicans kicked conservatives out of the party and we had to go somewhere. It’s not that independents are becoming more conservative but that their ranks are swelling with those of us who re-registered independent. The GOP will never acknowledge our numbers but we now substantially outnumber the GOP weanies.
Both parties are completely committed to winning the independent vote while trashing their own “moderate” bases. So by populating the independent ranks in such dominant numbers, conservatives are effectively becoming the most important party. What a sweet irony. Proving again that there IS a God.
Both parties have sold their souls to the “big tent” hollowness of standing for everything in “reaching out” to independents. The irony of now being at war against the very voting bloc they both need to win elections is s-o-o-o-o-o delicious.
Our clueless entrenched class of corrupt weasels. Comedy and tragedy parading as virtue.
Good to hear you have an inside line on what the nutjob is going to do. Perhaps you should call that Seahag at the State Dept. and let her know we can all rest easy.
Wow you are good. You have an inside line to KJI, now you know exactly what the American people are thinking on any given day.
The American people were beaten over the head daily for years about the war in Iraq being lost, being bogged down in a quagmire, a war of choice, or it was misguided by the left. Not once has anyone on the left mentioned what would have happened had Saddam be left alone, what his people would have continued to suffer (always like how you and other leftists ignore that) and the pitiful state the UN would have been in for not doing anything about the sanctions they passed then and the corruption in the Oil-for-Food program.
What makes you think UN sanctions against the NorKs would have ANY teeth if Iraq had been left alone?
It is the limp-wristed action by the UN on sanctions (and the States that should demand enforcement) they have passed over the years that makes nutcases like KJI think they can get away with lobbing missiles anywhere he wishes.
The stars & stripes are flying proudly from our front porch today as they will on the 4th of July. Otherwise we still fly the Gadsden flag keeping alive the sprit that gave birth to the best professional all volunteer army in the world. Happy Birthday United States Army! Hoorah!
ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒE (mo-lone lah-veh) Translation: Come and take them!
be=been
Every war fought by this nation has been a war of choice. Fight or capitulate.
Really? When? Because, you see, public opinion on the war has been fickle. But, as with other wars in the past, we don’t fight them as popularity contests. Are you aware there were riots in most big Northern cities during the Civil War?
Because they worked to contain Kim before Iraq.
You mean anywhere except where a human being would actually get hit.
LOL!!!! That is the funniest thing I ever heard….
The Red State Bigot is proving himself to be a complete idiot.
Best to let him do it alone.
Scroll down to the poll asking:
Proudly flying OLD GLORY and the Navy jack (from my last command flown during Operation Iraqi Freedom) which is raised every flag day.
Happy Birthday and wishes to many more to my ground pounding brethern! Thanks to all for their service.
BTC(SW/AW) ret.
I agree. When someone wants to make such an azz of themselves, why not get out of the way and let them do it.
“Because they worked to contain Kim before Iraq.”
Maybe he is thinking of a different Kim and not the lunatic thinking he is god leader of N. Korea?
Don’t you all love the omniscient arm chair generals and poly sci majors (RSS, lgm, et al.) towing the line for this Narcissist in Chief?
Arent these the same ones who supported Her Thighness’ shrilling decree that dissent is patriotic (but only on thier terms)?
Whats the latest on the Tea Parties?
July 4th still on track?
Houston just had a great turn out to protest the Liar Czar SanFran nan peloser.
Where is the aggregate ( a website perhaps?) of the ‘real’ national Tea Parties?
….this doesn’t look like the original
http://teapartypatriots.org/ ???
Happy Flag Day,
lets take back our country and our freedoms.
Nobody does it better.
Shoot, I’d even hold his coat and get him a Ho-Ho.
I think Kim what’s her name was fairly quiet and controlled before the Iraq war. Maybe Red is thinking of THAT Kim?
http://kimkardashian.celebuzz.com/
Kim Possible was pretty subdued until after the Iraq war too. Maybe Red is thinking about Kim Possible?
http://tv.disney.go.com/disneychannel/kimpossible/
I’m pretty sure it is Kim Possible.
Yes Shooter that does seem to be an eternal struggle-there is always some SOB who thinks we would be better off with a Fuhrer, Czar, Dear Leader or such running our lives. And there are we Right Wing Extremist who do not agree.
Concord Bridge. “Stand your ground . . . if they mean to have a war, let it begin here!”
@jsmiddleton4
It probably easier to just say “Coverage denied if you can read a book.”
There’s hope though… I met a handful of very bright, very well informed young conservatives from the Danbury HS young Republicans club and WCSU college Republicans at the Danbury Tea Party yesterday.
To quote Samuel Admas “It does not take a majority to prevail…but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brushfires of freedom and liberty in the minds of men.”
Those young men and women weren’t shy about standing up for their principles!
Just dumped Google for Bing.
Nice to see that Bing honors Flag day.
“There’s hope though”
Have not lost hope here.
“is always some SOB who thinks we would be better off with a Fuhrer, Czar, Dear Leader or such running our lives.”
One of the defining characteristics of leftism is their desire to have and support for what they perceive as benovelent dictactors. Which is why leftism is always oppressive at some level.
The left are Euro wannabes. Euros always go for the dictator.
The benovolent dictator makes perfect sense given the way the left are pro-government and suspicious of fully free people exercising life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
We can’t have free people you know. They may not want to pay taxes for researching why Thailand prostitutes have lousy self images….
Got my flag up this morning. Looked up and down my street. . .no other flags flying. Oh well. I hear that our troops in Afghanistan are being ordered to read Miranda rights to prisoners. Sort of like reading the Bill of Rights to a monkey at the town zoo.
Ragspierre,
I saw that “op-ed” piece this morning too, and it got my blood boiling. How they are trying to pin Von Kook as an extremist right wing nut is ridiculous. But of course, whatever they say, they’re hoping it will stick and stigmatize the rest of the conservatives in the US.
What’s interesting is, they are blaming people like O’Reilly, Limbaugh, and now Glenn Beck for “inciting” people to take action. He basically comes out and blames O’Reilly for Tiller’s murder because he called him Tiller the Baby Killer.
I did notice Rich left out that inconvenient little shooting that killed a soldier and wounded another my a Muslim extremist — he doesn’t count. Funny…I guess that guy didn’t fit into the “right wing” mold, but was completely left out of the domestic terrorism discussion. One that is much more frightening than anything else in this country. Let’s not forget the scheme to bomb the synagogues, etc., in NYC either. But you see, those weren’t right wing extremist folks, so let’s just bury that story.
The left is delusional, and only see what they want to see.
Some day, maybe they will grow up.
Everyone GUESSED wrong?
There was nothing about the numbers tossed out by this administration at the time that led anyone to believe they were GUESSING!
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/14/biden-says-guessed-wrong-unemployment-numbers/
I fly the flag 24/7 365, only one for blocks around here, course this is in blue Lane Cnty, Orygun…home of “The Peoples Republic on the Willamette River.”
I agree that the left is characteristically overplaying this hand to blame loudmouths they don’t like for Tiller’s murder. Many have tried to make the point that because Tiller had been targeted in the past, O’Reilly should have used softer words to condemn him. Whatever, the guy killed kids for a living. What soft words convey that kind of sickness?
By the way, on the Flag Day tip, we are one week away from moving into our new house which will finally don an American flag (we’ve rented the last several years and haven’t really had the chance). Apologies in advance for coopting the stars & stripes in the name of liberal socialism.
We always have a large flag out front, just above the garage light; I did add a small flag to the mailbox today.
The jackasses across the street have a giant winnie the pooh flag out today. Nice!
Figures. Lefturds’ flag is a bear, like the market they created.
Ah the Obama Foregin Policy Flag…
But seriously folks,…
we may be, today, seeing the beginnings of the end of a theocratic totalitarian regime in Iran.
This could be a day as momentous as that which saw the demolition of the Berlin Wall.
Watch and pray. There was a time, not long ago, when Iranians were pro-American.
And, on the value of polls, take this from Reuters:
If 95% of people think that suicide is wonderful, does that EVER make it true?
Hey, I like Winnie the Pooh. What’s the bear ever done to harm you?
Any one who can use the rumblings in his tummy to find his way home is okay in my book. In fact, Winnie the Pooh for President! He can be the real spokesman for the RNC now that Rush has resigned.
whaa? You’ve got some bumper stickers?
Neanderthals must love living on the edge…..
Eyore can be Dick Chenny….
God bless America, land that I love!
And thanks, Army! We are so blessed, and we are so grateful for your service.
Now, we must all stay strong and save this country from the progressivist, socialist track we’re on. We can come back from this!
And the BIG reason is that they have no God. No Higher Power nor morals nor a code of ethics from which to live their lives by.
So the left picks “Dear Leaders” and then they fight irrationally to get everyone else to believe in what they want to believe because everything they are built on is false, is temporary, has no real or lasting power.
Their entirety exists on nothingness, false hopes, false prophets and false truths. That’s also why they’re ALWAYS so darn mad and quick to blame….they have no other way to deal with life.
No morals
No ethics
No God
No Hope
huh…No WONDER.

me too, and I’ve encouraged 4 neighbors to do the same.
Trained winnie the pooh bear, bows to kings, mullahs and such?
We have been “reasonable and accommodating” entirely too long and for naught; we go along with the Left on an issue and the SOBs are back next year wanting more-always more. They are a parasite on the body politic. If standing for Freedom, Liberty and the Rights of Man is Extremist and on the edge then sign me up. Bumper stickers? NRA, Arizona Civil Defense League and the Second Amendment March and AAA.
Extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice. And moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue-Barry Goldwater 1964
I have never used Google. Boycott Google!! I don’t “google” I do a “search.”
Here, I’ll offer a few more things from the blogs I run:
I found some very unpleasant news about Gen. David Petraeus, and speak about it on my politics blog.
Check out this stupid article I scrutinized on my comics blog that blabbers about an “Obama comics sensation”.
Here’s a tape I put on my game blog of Rabio Lepus, which was sold in some places in the west as Rabbit Punch.
Both good posts with good points.
The socialists, collectivist, elitists, statists, existentialists, opposite worldview-holders, fascists, communists, etc. believe that they, and only they, have dicovered the secret to perfection; and they mean to make the rest of us agree with them and believe as they do…whether we want to or not – whether we agree with them or not.
The people across the street from my Mom’s house in Seattle (go figure), have a flagpole and they are proudly displaying a skull and crossbones. They also have a Winnie the Pooh flag. What’s up with that?
ArizonaNeanderthal rocks
I live close enough to you…I express my dissent to this government and i don’t care..
YOU disguest me Obama…U are NOT my leader…
I’m not sure what your issue is with Petraeus. All he said is that if the Israeli/Palestinian conflict were resolved, Hezbollah’s stated reason for existing would disappear. What is wrong with that? All that is missing fpr Israel to agree to terms with most of the Arab world is for the Arabs to recognize Israel’s right to exist. How is Petraeus’ statement inconsistent with America’s official position?
You might reading be reading something into this that isn’t there.
“And the BIG reason is that they have no God.”
I disagree. Even if in their presonal lives they have a personal faith, in practice their God is government. They clearly have a God, have rituals and sacrifices and allegiance and a priesthood, sets of beliefs, followers, etc., in a very organized way.
Leftism is a religious system.
This is why it can not tolerate any system that worships the one true God. Worshipping the one true God is a threat to the left’s religion.
One of the reasons China is so vehemently opposed to real Christianity, not some state approved church system, is that the Chinese communist leaders perceive Christianity as a threat to their government and to communism. Leaders in China view real Christianity as radical. And it is precisely because you can’t worship the true God AND the State. One will always win out in terms of allegiance. As noted many times throughout the Bible, you can not serve two masters, have no other God before me, etc.

Read an article that stated that there are now more Christians than Communists in China.
Change is a-comin’ in China…
First I have to wish HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wife of four years!!!! She hit the big 4-6. In a few months I’ll catch up with her.
Happy Flag Day!! May she wave forever and free.
Happy birthday to my forerunners – the Army. Without the Army Air Corps there would be no Air Force.
Salute to all!!!!!!!!!
One of our local bloggers has written a small piece on Governor Palin. She hits the nail squarely on the head and drives it home.
I strongly encourage you to read it and know that Palin is fighting back, and I as an American living in Texas but born in Alaska, think she is so far above BHO in every category that its not even funny.
The only places where BHO has the lead is in pigmentation and possibly his 5th appendage – although it is questionable based on his lack of testicular fortitude.

Oops. Helps to give the link to the above, eh?

PS – Flying the National Ensign and Dimmitts flags today.
My Ensign has been flown on every vessel I have sailed upon since 1972. It may go up and come right down on warships, but it is my treasure; my piece of history and America that goes everywhere I go.

Just caught this on Drudge: Leon Panetta quote criticizing Dick Cheney
This is the director of the CIA talking. Outrageous. Could the Republicans please stop pretending that if they make nice, the Dems will reciprocate? The Republicans are not the party of “no” but the party of “no show”. Who needs them.
..and instinctively flaps whichever way the wind is blowing.
Raining here today so Old Glory stays in. Will fly her the rest of the week to make up the difference.
You youngsters in the army have a happy birthday, from a National Guard veteran.
Ahem. USARNG: 372 years old and still kickin’.
(I misread that the first time and spent the afternoon talking to myself.)
Is there no one who cares what is happening to the ultraconservative Swartzentruber Amish sect? Their religious freedoms are being taken away at this very moment and no one has even noticed.
Andy Swartzentruber just spent 90 days in jail and Sam Yoder may be next. The Millers and Swartzentrubers are now homeless because the government has put padlocks on their homes and barns. All this over the refusal of the Amish to modernize their outhouses. Could their be anything more symbolic of religious freedom than that?
Bring your pitchforks and torches (no modern stuff like six shooters or flashlights) and come standup for the Amish. If we don’t come to the aid of the Amish now, who will WE turn to when they come for us?
/Removing tongue from cheek
Go Army! Beat Navy!
Below is a link to a story that is far more important than old news about Sarah Palin. She is one of the best we have, but we already knew that. This guy is a true American hero and gave it all, for us. He was on the ground, in the middle of all the uh, stuff, and fought to the end.
God bless Sgt. 1st Class Lincoln Clifford May, U. S. Army.

Men in rags, men who froze,
Still that Army met its foes,
And the Army went rolling along.
Faith in God, then we’re right,
And we’ll fight with all our might,
As the Army keeps rolling along.
Same failed approach that the Dems take to our enemies abroad. Definition of insanity…
No matter what the Republicans do, the Democrats will *always* hate them and blame them for all the disastrous Democrat policies.
Someone needs to tell the Democrats and the Obama regime to shove it!
I’m sick of the Republicans whimpering in the dark corners of Washington, hoping that they get to change a couple crumbs of the Democrat agenda.
Why don’t the Republicans come up with their own agenda? Why do they always let the Democrats set the standards?
Why won’t Republicans set about to expose the danger of the Democrat policies every time their disgusting faces get on TV? Why won’t Republicans attempt to enforce the Constitution of the United States of America? Why won’t they fight against the imposition of socialism upon our nation? WHY WON’T THE REPUBLICANS DO WHAT’S RIGHT?
Our country is toast. Conservatives have no voice. There is absolutely no opposition to the devastation the Obama regime has designed for us. There is no one to fight.
Why? Zero leadership. Those that could lead, are not wanted in the party. Those that are in the party are too willing to just get along than lead.
…and they will be the same d@mn fools who wonder why they lose another election.
Happy Flag Day and Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter.
from my understanding, the US Army has begun a “temporary, immediate” shutdown. All hiring is frozen, there will be no reenlistments allowed, no recruiting whatsoever, and anyone who is due to reup will not be allowed to do so and will be immediately discharged. This, for some reason, has not yet hit the media. Happy Birthday, indeed.
The RNC is suffering from battered wife syndrome.
