Bad medicine: Obamacare poster art, Round 3
The Obamacare government takeover plan has provided a welcome stimulus of creativity and fighting spirit on the Right. Last week, we featured Rounds One and Two of the Obamacare photoshop poster contest. They just keep getting better. Print, save, and fax your favorites to your congressional reps. Bring one to an Obamacare protest near you — like the ones in Seattle and Green Bay. Give one to your favorite doctor, nurse, or other health care professional as Obama urges them to swallow their socialized medicine. (Details on Obama’s upcoming speech to the AMA in Chicago today here.)
Make your views seen and your voices heard. It’s making a difference: “Votes seen lacking for Obama healthcare program.”

Hmm, the water’s already luke-warm for some of us.
lgm, Obama doesn’t have the authority to medal with the marketplace. It’s not in his job description. Therefore, the people and the states retain the right to run their own healthcare systems. When are you going to start defending the Constitution? You blamed Bush for gross violations, some of which I agree with. What about Obama trampling on the Tenth Amendment?? The postal service is Constitutional, Federal involvement with the medical and insurance industry is not.
Can someone tell me how to incorporate a previous post into a new post?
One problem there is that courts (at least ones of which I know) are not the bodies that control licensing. You can take a verdict against a quack (or an incompetent lawyer or professional engineer) and you don’t touch their license.
You get to an incompetent doc through his pocket, and that of his insurer. I know, it stinks in many respects, but that is how it is.
I agree…sort of and up to a point.
I believe in juries, like I believe in democracy. Down in my toe-nails, and for the same reasons.
That said, people can, do, and will make bad choices, based on all the wrong reasons. That goes with freedom. The other side of that coin is RESPONSIBILITY, or the ability to be exposed to the results of your bad choices.
I have had some absolutely inexplicable jury decisions, which went against every fact and the law the jurors were given. They are VERY difficult for me to deal with, because I can’t understand them and can’t learn from them. Happily, the legal process allows a judge or appellate court to cancel out a run-away jury, and impose the law where they exceed it.
Highlight what you want to incorporate; right-click on “copy”; then right-click “paste” it into the new post.
Absolutely classic Milton Freidan clip.
It’s only 2:30 long, but power-packed and timeless.
that should be Freidman, not Friedan.
I would have given much to have had the honor of meeting and learning from Milton, and his smarter wife Rose, Friedman.
I owe him and Rose my interests in economics, and much of my love for people.
This thread appears close to death, and lgm has slitheree away after enduring scathing criticism and rebuttal, but still, I will ask him:
Lgm: If a college student knows his earnings will be severely capped by Obamacare, then why will he even bother to be a pre-med major, let alone undergo the years of medical training, with long hours, low pay and massive debts he will have to repay?
Answer that, you miserable twit.
You forgot to add to use the quote tab at the beginning and at the end of what you want to quote.
fulldroolcup said (#106):
Somehow, France, Germany, Canada, etc. have enough doctors. I think we’ll manage. Good question by the way. Maybe we’ll have to create a multi tier system where the primary care person is somewhere between a nurse and a doctor, with the people with really advanced training (and pay) doing only the very hard stuff.
That’s a good idea no matter what system we have or create. However, we already have that: They’re called Nurse Practitioners. They see patients and prescribe medications, usually in primary care offices or some specialties, like endocrinology (diabetes care).
I still don’t wish to see Obamacare, but that particular idea already works, we just have a shortage of them. Like the shortage of plain ole’ nurses.
Eww…!!!
I know…
How about a system were we get to choose who will treat us, and how much we care to pay them?
See, that is called “freedom“.
You ought to think about trying it.
Or at least letting others alone so they can.
Evidence, please.
.
These are totally fabulous! Let’s all send them to EVERYBODY we know. The Neo-Libs will pop their corks.

just wait for critical care

keep patients running around
charge them every time

Don’t forget, it’s not just Obama. The majority of Dems on the Hill are pushing for this totalitarian, anti-constitutional garbage as well.
I like them all. I like the Cadet Nurse one the best; except the Obama logo should be on her lapel and/or sleeve.
Actualy they don’t. LGM this is why you should ask me about my histroy with socialised medicine. Most of those countries are losing doctors to the usa because of pay issues.

Ooops: I left out “ABC” off the beginning of that headline.
Sorry

Misscheryl: Would it be racist of me to point out that that sounds alot like pravda???
Well, not in the least…we have czars and now state run TV…
if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck – it’s a commie.
Actually, it makes my stomach turn. What the hell else do we need?
I didn’t mean to hijack this thread…I’ll stop. I did think it was pretty important. I’ll be quiet now.
You hardly hijacked the thread.
No apology necessary.
Pretty important? If Drudge’s news item is true, “pretty important” is the understatement of the year!
Thank you for letting us know.
I suggest this is the way ObamaCare will be defeated. You can try this at home, if you like…
“We can’t afford it…”
Everybody can understand that. Even idiots who think that health care is a right can understand we can’t afford it.
Americans are FEELING very anxious about BIG BRO’s amazing spending. They will get…

GREAT new ABC logo!!!!
Heh.
From the many fact-filled rebuttals to this claim, I’d say lgm has once again had to reach for his gallon jar of KY Jelly.
OUCH!!!!
Doctors, but only in the sense that they may have once spent time in an advanced anatomy class and can sometimes ID a patient from a nurse in a waiting room.
Oh that’s pithy! Funny thing is, just a hundred years ago we were fine paying experienced doctors with fresh eggs and hand-churned butter – that is, until lawyers got involved w/ ambulance chasing!
Or, we could end the law suit silliness and be just fine w/ what we have -
Yeah!!! we could call them physicians assistants or maybe nurse practioners!!!
Why didn’t we think of that???
Now, that goofy, silly post sounds like the original Sybil!
Eww…Eww…I know…
How about paramedics…!!! Kinda like “semi-doctors”…
