And here, Gentle Readers, is what the Obamatrons and A$$hats in Congress want to do to healthcare in the Uninted States:
You MORONS who voted these STUPID, IMMORAL PIECES OF CRAP into office can now apologize to the rest of America for being so inhumane.
I get my health care insurance from my employer. It is free to me for an HMO but costs the employer about $250 a month. It is considered part of my compensation along with PTO, salary, life insurance, holidays, etc.
If the government required my employer to pay for my health care, it would have no effect as they are currenly doing it to keep up with the market. If they were required to cover my family it would cost the company about $600 a month.
They would have 3 choices if that were to happen.
1. Lower my other compensation elements, salary, PTO, holidays
2. Pass the increase in costs to the consumer which has a host of other concerns such as competition. I would have to assume the competitors would have a similar issue.
3. Absorb the lower profit resulting from keeping prices the same but increasing costs.
Free markets make adjustments to this. Lower profits may result in just not investing in the business I am in. They may just shut the doors and forego the small profit they would make for the risk they take. Other companies may do the same so there will be a lot of competition for the remaining jobs. That won’t help me at all!
If all companies are raising prices to keep profitability, then I will be paying more for everything I buy. That means my current salary won’t buy as much so in effect, I will be taking a pay cut. My standard of living will go down. That is not good for me.
If they cut my salary or days off, my standard of living will also fall. Not good for me.
All of these are bad for me. If the government just charges me directly for my health care, same thing. I will have less money to spend and my standard of living will fall.
Almost every scenario leads to me having a lower standard of living. Not good for me.
If I have no health care, it would appear to be good for me to have it but alas, health care with limited jobs due to the closing of comanies that are not profitable is not good for me either.
This appears to be something that is good for people with no job, no prospects, and with health issues. For everyone else, it is a loser that will lower their standard of living at best and cause the loss of their job at worst.
/long post apology
The “soft” tyranny we tried on the Indians didnt work so well for them did it? It wont work for us either.
