PETA + Che Guevera’s granddaughter = Political Ipecac

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 18, 2009 11:48 PM

What could be more stomach-turning than a radical animal rights group that has a snit fit over a swatted fly paying homage to a mass-murdering Marxist guerilla? Yep. PETA has teamed up with Che Guevara’s granddaughter to pimp the “vegetarian revolution.”

Not going to post the photo of their new ad campaign. Click here if you must for the full story and the image that will have you begging for an airsickness bag. And eye bleach:

The granddaughter of Cuban revolutionary leader Ernesto “Che” Guevara is at the forefront of another revolution — for vegetarianism.

Lydia Guevara poses semi-nude in a PETA campaign that tells viewers to “join the vegetarian revolution,” said PETA spokesman Michael McGraw…

…In the ad, Lydia Guevara wears camouflage pants, a red beret, and bandoliers of baby carrots while standing with one fist on her hip and the other outstretched.

“It very much evokes the tag line of the ad, which is ‘Join the vegetarian revolution,’” McGraw said. “It’s an homage of sorts to her late grandfather.”

PETA is not exactly known to be honest about their operations. For example, their “animal rescue shelters” murder a HUGE percentage of the animals they receive. See: http://www.petakillsanimals.com/

PETA is a bunch of extremely unhinged left-wing hypocritical wackos.

However, there is no reason to be cruel to animals. Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws) specify how animals are to be slaughtered and one of the goals of these rules is to reduce needless suffering for the animals in the process.

    Kosher slaughtering

Ritual slaughter is known as shechitah, and the person who performs the slaughter is called a shochet, both from the Hebrew root Shin-Cheit-Tav, meaning to destroy or kill. The method of slaughter is a quick, deep stroke across the throat with a perfectly sharp blade with no nicks or unevenness. This method is painless, causes unconsciousness within two seconds, and is widely recognized as the most humane method of slaughter possible.

Even left-wing lunatics from PETA may not be wrong on every point all the time. However, you can bet that if they are “not wrong” on a given point they are “not wrong” for the wrong reasons…

This is the same organization that asked the Palestinians not to use donkeys in their efforts to blow up Jews, but didn’t ask them to simply stop blowing up Jews period. PETA’s excuse was it was only looking out for the animals and wasn’t making any political judgments.

The only plus Obama has in my book is ticking off the PETA cult.

I find it tremendously ironic that the granddaughter of Che Guevara would be pushing a vegetarian lifestyle and the lunatics at PETA have expressed no concern over the thousands of “animals” murdered by “su abuelo.” Yet they publicly and loudly bemoan the fact that Obama swatted a fly…

I guess lunacy just doesn’t “get” irony.

Zero – Being a photographer who LOVES to photograph insects and spiders I have come to a point where it is very hard for me to kill them. But flies are annoying beasts and if they don’t leave my house of their own accord, they get swatted. Insects are most definitely some of the best engineered animals on the planet. When you see them enlarged with macro photography, they are stunning.

I have a white crab spider living in a pot of violas and I killed a big, fat, juicy fly for her yesterday. And in honor of this post, I’ll get her another one today. I’ll tell her PETA sends her their regards.

I meant to mention how funny that suggestion was. Especially sending them by the slow boat so they’re nice and well-done when they get there.

As to the wine that would go best with big, fat, juicy fly… I dunno, I’m not a wine drinker. Let’s ask Chap. He’ll know.

There is nothing evil about being vegetarian. The Hindu religion has this as one of its central beliefs — a true religion of peace. You should love them because they have been at war with Islam for centuries.

While you’re looking for bad girls, how about the minuteman who … (you surely know this story, but since the killer is conservative and the victim illegal, who cares).

please…they’re persecuting christians in india as we speak…

Thousands homeless after Hindu-Christian violence in India
The violence has occurred in Kandhamal, a district in Orissa State that has a history of communal and ethnic clashes. The latest conflict started Saturday night, when unidentified armed men stormed a Hindu school in Kandhamal and killed the Hindu leader Laxmanananda Saraswati and four of his followers.

The police suspected that Maoist rebels were responsible. But Hindus blamed Christians. In the retaliatory violence, 500 houses were burned. All nine towns in the district are under a curfew, and the police have license to shoot. At least two people have been killed in violent reprisals in other districts of Orissa, including a woman who died when an orphanage was burned down.

but I know its the christian’s fault…for daring to be alive…

You are quite right concerning Lydia Guevara; she personally isn’t responsible for anything. However, I am suspect about whether or not PETA choose to use her precisely because of the iconography of her grandfather.

    WRT Hindus:

    http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/10/01/international/i123747D92.DTL

…just food for thought. Generally I would agree that Hindu philosophy and tenets are much more peaceable then Muslim ones.

I haven’t heard about the minuteman story, but if the victim is only guilty of crossing a border, then sure, the killing was completely unjustified.

I would go to the Greenpeace Toronto office and there would be an awful lot of young people wearing army fatigues and red berets in there.

He left Greenpeace because it stopped being about the environment and became all about political agitation and revolution.

Hmmm. Kind of like PETA right now! Using the image of a known murdering bastard, scumbag, marxist revolutionary, to sell it’s snake oil to those too dim-witted to see the truth.
