A sports writer put it well in another way, when he pointed out that his best athlete interviews were with boxers, because most of them had to fight for everything they ever received without a parade of sycophants telling them how &quot;special&quot; they are, and were thus much less likely to cop an attitude in response to questions.

Hope-a-Dope, by contrast, has grown quite accustomed to flattery; you can see it in his body language.  The best photo-op I can imagine for the guy is to catch him in a moment when his chin isn&#039;t thrust upward at an angle of 30 degrees or more.  Pure, unapologetic, self-satisfied self-regard fairly oozes from his pores.

There&#039;s only one antidote for this kind of malignant narcissism, and that&#039;s a severe butt-kicking delivered by the real world.  The sooner that happens, the better -- for all of us.</description>
