It has been a wild day on the House floor. GOP leader John Boehner is going to read the entire 300-page late-night manager’s amendment into the record. Good to see some fight left in the GOP. This is must see TV.
Update: Well, the “filibuster” was a mini-filibuster. Boehner should have read entire bill. Then read entire suppressed Carlin EPA report. We are headed to vote on final passage…

Passing President Obama’s “cap and trade” energy program would cost the average Oklahoma family $3,200 a year, Sen. Jim Inhofe said Friday, but he’s confident the measure will be killed in the Senate no matter what happens in the House of Representatives.
The Tulsa Republican, a longtime critic of what he considers “this hoax called global warming,” made his latest statements during a morning stop in Shawnee while House members in Washington were preparing to vote on the controversial issue.
“Between the years of 1998 and 2005, I was the only member of the United States Senate who would take on what I call ‘the Hollywood elitists’ and the United Nations on this hoax called global warming and I went through seven years of purgatory on that issue.
“But now I’ve been redeemed and the vast majority of the scientific community has now said Inhofe’s right and the United Nations is wrong and those individuals … have now said ‘no, the science is not there and these are natural cycles.”

UGHH! I actually got through to Lance, Smith, LoBiondo & McHugh’s offices today. My line was “you’ve seen what high taxes and the high cost of business has done to NJ – this bill will do the same to the Nation.” Iguess they just don’t give a crap. I’d sure like to know what it took to buy them off.

When O was elected I decided to retire and leave the country for good. Even Fox news (except Glenn Beck) apparently thinks Michael Jackson is worth full time coverage and doesn’t give a damn about the largest tax increase in US history passing congress. Nobody in the government or MSM seems to be paying attention as this country is being sent down the toilet. After attending a TEA party in DC last March, I decided to retire but not to leave…yet. The crowd was small, but maybe there was still hope.
Pretty much the entire government and the courts are corrupt and need to be thrown out of their jobs:
1) Black Panthers intimidating voters in Philly — nothing to see here
2) Numerous cities that have more voters than eligible population — nothing to see here
3) O illegally fires an Inspector General about to prosecute his buddy — nothing to see here
4) Conyers drops investigation into ACORN due to higher authority — nothing to see here
5) Numerous cases against high-level congresspeople involved in corruption — nothing to see here
6) The Supreme Court passes when the government screws secured bondholders to help their union buddies — nothing to see here.
7) etc.
We need to be out in the streets in massive numbers. Several million extremely angry people on the DC Mall and in state capitals around the country might get someone to pay attention. Talking and blogging is not going to cut it. If we don’t get the numbers, I will give up and buy a one way ticket outta here — if you don’t fight, you WILL get what you deserve!
RRRAAALLLFFF! There now, I feel better. Sad to say, we now have to rely on the Great Deliberative Body, the Senate. With our luck, the Minnesota courts will find in favor of Al Franken just in time to shut off Repub attempts to block Senate passage of this piece of legislative garbage.

How would Flake being there to vote no changed the fact that they had 219 yes votes?
Rather than use him as a scape goat, let’s focus on the 8 turn coats and donating to their primary challengers and getting their backsides bounced out of Congress.

I called my sister when I heard the bill had passed. She is a moderate, leans a bit left but not overly political. She always claims to be informed and up to date on the issues. I was upset when I called and started ranting a bit. She said I was scaring her and I sounded very radical. I told her I was upset about the cap and trade bill and she said “What is a cap and trade bill?” Enough said.
After checking the roll call, I see that my guy Tim Holden (PA) was among the Dems who voted against. A moral victory, but little more. Time to start hounding the senators!
It should be interesting…If any others are thinking about running but, concerned about gaining the signatures to do so…Hire ACORN…you’ll have all you need in an afternoon…

Sullivan (R-OK) is in the Betty Ford Clinic dealing with alcohol addiction. The Dims yanked Patrick Kennedy out of his rehab to vote for this Crappin’ Tax bill. If the RNC had cojones the Republican Representatives who voted for this would be ostracized and stripped from any positions of responsibility.
I know my Senators (Inhofe and Coburn) will vote against this monstrosity, but I don’t hold out hope that they can stop it.
When electric bills, gas bills, oil bills, and vehicle fuel bills skyrocket, we need to ensure that this gets laid squarely at the feet of the Dims from Da One on down.
Hope is not a plan; not all change is good. WE are the civilian national security force! This might be a good time to start acting like it. Even if Flake had missed his little girl’s real important thing to vote for this abomination, it wouldn’t have made the difference. Too many Vichy Stupid Party members jumped the aisle.
The bill passed by 7 votes. 8 RINOs voted for it. Just as the three traitors – Specter, Snowe, Collins – made porkulus happen, we now have these eight losers to thank for their treasons against this nation.
In addition to the Traitor Eight, we should know who the 44 patriotic Democrats were who voted against it. You are either for the COUNTRY or against it and those 44 Dems should be thanked for voting with their fellow citizens and not their fascist party.

Congress must get spending under control. Our nation did not become great through the interference and control of a centralized government in Washington. It is precisely the lack of an intrusive government that has given Americans the freedom to build our great nation.
The trillions in spending to facilitate government expansion must stop. The bailouts must stop. Taxes must remain low for all Americans and Arizona businesses alike.
For too long our borders have remained unsecured with drugs and violence pouring in at an alarming rate. Southern Arizona has seen its crime rise dramatically while politicians in Washington do nothing but talk.
Unnecessarily high health care costs are crippling small businesses. Tort reform must begin now in order to bring health care costs under control.
The ever expanding government bureaucracy conveys too much power into the hands of unelected individuals. We need leadership in Washington that is not beholden to special interest groups or swayed by the political appeal of earmarks.
We need someone who represents Arizona first. We need a leader in Congress who understands small businesses, fiscal responsibility, and the importance of individual liberty. Jesse Kelly is that leader.
Dick Morris said it correctly tonight on Hannity…ALL the Democrats wanted to vote for this bill. The vulnerable Dems were ALLOWED to vote Nay after Pelosi was sure the bill would win anyway. The final vote had only one more Aye vote than necessary. Now all those vulnerable Dems can go back to their voters and say: “See, I voted against it”. They are counting on the pervasive apathy of their constituents.
Seriously, had to watch a movie with the kids. . . might have to start taking medication or something. This is so darn frustrating. I know that Some have praised all our efforts to make this difficult to pass – but it is still losing.
Hope we can end this in the Senate!

I am weary of being betrayed by the Republican Party. Conservatives have no voice in D.C. There is no opposition. The GOP are a bunch of compliant self-serving,unprincipled sissies who might just as well be Democrats.
This Boehner dude needs to be extricated. His leadership is practically non-existant, seeing he is unable to keep the GOP together as a cohesive unit.
Cap and trade is an abominable concept that is designed to further entrench the power-elite class in government while increasing the ranks of the poor. This is unconstitutional legislation that will hurt many Americans, yet, the GOP is willing to go along with it.
