Tea Party Watch: Protesting the cap-and-tax cramdown

It’s not just what’s in the bill. It’s the way they rammed it through the House.

Just like the porkulus: Under-handed, transparency-defying, and stuffed with earmark payoffs and bribes concocted in middle-of-the night, backroom deals.

Taxpayers are mad again. And they’re not going to sit still.

Impromptu flash protests are taking place today at state capitols and federal buildings across the country.

In Chicago:

If you are anywhere near Chicago’s Federal Plaza this afternoon, where the Tax Day Tea Party took place, then be there at 1:00pm for a cap-and-trade protest. Federal Plaza is at 230 S. Dearborn.

In Orlando. And in Canton, Ohio.

In Upland, Calif.: noon at the corner of Foothill/Euclid.

In Atlanta via Barracuda Babes:

Saturday, June 27, 200912:00 noon
State Capitol

Bring signs in Opposition to Cap and Tax
Ideas include: Cap and Tax, Cap and Traitors, Cap and tr8tors, No Taxation without Reading the Bill, Tea Party Patriots Vote

If you are not in metro Atlanta, protest at the Federal Building in your county.

Arizona protest info at Arizona Tea Party.

San Diego: Noon, 880 Front St # 4236

Temecula, CA: Noon, Ynez & Rancho California Road @ Duck Pond (This is Cap-and-Trade 8 member Mary Bono Mack’s district.)

More at Tea Party Patriots.

Don’t forget to let the GOP Cap-and-Tax 8 hear from you.

I’m afraid that nothing short of hundreds of thousands of people converging on DC in a massive siege of the Capitol will get their attention.Especially if it lasted for days blocking their way in and out almost shutting the government down.

It would be very effective if huge masses of people descended on DC. That just brings up the practical side of me, however. Where would all those people stay? Where would they eat? And most important, would there be enough port-a-potties? I am serious. How do large masses of people deal with that stuff?

I completely agree, Everyone I incounter is concerned and very pissed off. Considering the idea from Texas, I have my black ribbon flying and I have asked people I know to do the same, just a black ribbon on a tree or store front or anywhere. It may start small but if it grows and the more ribbons are seen the more symbolic it can be. If there are black ribbons everywhere that is a message that cannot be ignored.

I also remember my Military days, it was always said – if people were complaining – that was a good sign, when the complaining stopped and it was quiet, then all the radars went up.

The MSM covers interesting stories. Twenty pot bellied slobs with signs that Obama is ushering in Communism are no more interesting than the nuts with signs of Armageddon.

That is how the left argues-name calling, ridicule: Twenty pot bellied slobs, “Bitterly clinging to God and Guns”-”typical white person:, Neanderthals- so we rise about it and use the slurs as Mantels of Honor which is something the humorless left is really capable of understanding.

Uhh thanks rightisright, I hope you understood I was using sarcasm.

And I agree with you but would go one step further. The Chinese use captalism, not because the have seen the light of freedom, but because Communism is an economic failure. They use restricted captalism as a way to fund their Communistic infrastructure. And more recently, they have deftly used it against us, being our largest creditor. In the future, as we continue to print and spend money like its ocean water, wont our largest creditor have something to say about it?

And in the context of this capandtrade revolt discussion, the fact that the largest polluters in the world thumb their noses at climate change regulations, should be pointed out as often as possible.

When the tea party/capandtrade revolt is in Denver, I’ll be there with my family. Too bad lgm wasn’t in Denver at the last one because he/she would have seen the “hicks with sticks” was not that type of crowd. Lgm’s condescending racist steretypes indicate his/her lack of serious reasoning skills, or for that matter, compassion.

Please, everyone, call, email, fax your senators EVERY DAY and tell them to vote NO on the Crap and Trade, Health Care, Amnesty, Bailouts and whatever the flsvor du jour is. We need to tell them that we are damn mad and we aren’t going sit back and have them stuff legislation up our nose without even reading it! It is criminal! Tell them that we are watching their voting records and if they cannot serve the will of the people, we will vote them out!

    happy2behere,

No, I didn’t say the Chinese were no longer Communist. But they did adopt some capitalism to help their economy along. And after multiple examples of dysfunctional governance there, like the mandarins and even their current form of government, it worked.

I’m not suggesting we become like them. It was them becoming like what we are and should continue to be that helped them, even if it was only a partial adjustment.

Why did I mention it at all? Because I see people wondering if things can become to broken to fix, and I say they’re wrong. I needed an example, and China is one. Not remotely perfect an example, but a real one.

    what’s the point?

We crashed their phones and their servers, and they voted “Yes” on TARP.

We managed to get them to vote “No” on the auto bailouts, but Bush went ahead and gave them money.

Not a single New Deal program has been eliminated.

It’s over. We were too busy keeping the world safe and spreading Democracy with guns that we lost our republic to the socialists.
