Tea Party Watch: Protesting the cap-and-tax cramdown

By Michelle Malkin  •  June 27, 2009 09:55 AM

Photoshop: Leo Alberti

It’s not just what’s in the bill. It’s the way they rammed it through the House.

Just like the porkulus: Under-handed, transparency-defying, and stuffed with earmark payoffs and bribes concocted in middle-of-the night, backroom deals.

Taxpayers are mad again. And they’re not going to sit still.

Impromptu flash protests are taking place today at state capitols and federal buildings across the country.

In Chicago:

If you are anywhere near Chicago’s Federal Plaza this afternoon, where the Tax Day Tea Party took place, then be there at 1:00pm for a cap-and-trade protest. Federal Plaza is at 230 S. Dearborn.

In Orlando. And in Canton, Ohio.

In Upland, Calif.: noon at the corner of Foothill/Euclid.

In Atlanta via Barracuda Babes:

Saturday, June 27, 200912:00 noon
State Capitol

Bring signs in Opposition to Cap and Tax
Ideas include: Cap and Tax, Cap and Traitors, Cap and tr8tors, No Taxation without Reading the Bill, Tea Party Patriots Vote

If you are not in metro Atlanta, protest at the Federal Building in your county.

Arizona protest info at Arizona Tea Party.

San Diego: Noon, 880 Front St # 4236

Temecula, CA: Noon, Ynez & Rancho California Road @ Duck Pond (This is Cap-and-Trade 8 member Mary Bono Mack’s district.)

More at Tea Party Patriots.

Don’t forget to let the GOP Cap-and-Tax 8 hear from you.

Agreed, little story I was a participant in today that supports what you said.
A woman today was looking for an a apartment for her friend. Management take the weekend off here, they are incompetent in other ways, but on with my story.
We started talking about the rent cost and so forth and I naturally couldn’t pass up chance to feel one out on their political views. Mentioned the crap and tax bill passed yesterday, she had no idea what I was talking about. I went on for a few about the damage the dems and Odumbo are doing to the country. I said these libs are ruining this country, she said her and her hubby felt the same…but she had just said she knew nothing of the scam bill passed. Unless she was bs’n me,I have to assume there are millions in the same position as her and her hubby. They have no idea what’s going on. I think that’s a result of that old saying”two things you don’t talk about with strangers is religion and politics”…that and their too busy watching American Idol or Dancing with the Stars and the soup channels for their news. Too many people are unaware of what’s happening to their country.
Tea Parties and person to person are two great ways to help conservative word get out to people in the dark and push the conservative cause.

Really, China is no longer Communist? Who knew?

Sadly, based on the cap and trade vote, I think we are moving closer to the Chinese form of government, than they are to ours.

And Symrian, please get a clue – Communists clammor to get out of their own countries and others don’t clammor to get in. Ever wonder why?

Would not an effective way to stop Obama’s destruction of America as we know it be for him to be found ineligible to be president?

Does anyone think he would spend a million dollars to hide stuff related to his citizenship if he had nothing to hide?

It seem to me this kind of overrides everything else as a way to stop the runaway government control freightrain, even if it means Biden becomes the engineer.

Maybe I need a new tinfoil hat, but I don’t see how this can just be allowed to drop.

A few of the things that are still hidden from view:

The tea parties would still be necessary
without a president Obama, but I don’t believe the headlong rush into Socialism/Marxism would be anything like it currently is.

Friday, I was talking to my sister who is middle of the road on everything, and I was upset about the bill. She asked what it was. I started to “rant” a bit and she cut me off, saying she didn’t realize how “radical” I had become. It was very eye-opening. I AM radical!! Wow. I prefer to call it passionate about my beliefs. She is one of those “undecideds” you see in polls and wonder how ANYONE can be sitting on the fence about the future of our country! Oh, and she insists she is “informed” about what is going on. Sad. So, I have a milquetoast sister, a moonbat leftie brother and a Rush Limbaugh conservative (like me) brother who is the spitting image of el Rushbo himself! Two of us out of four. And I agree with you but would go one step further. The Chinese use captalism, not because the have seen the light of freedom, but because Communism is an economic failure. They use restricted captalism as a way to fund their Communistic infrastructure. And more recently, they have deftly used it against us, being our largest creditor. In the future, as we continue to print and spend money like its ocean water, wont our largest creditor have something to say about it?

And in the context of this capandtrade revolt discussion, the fact that the largest polluters in the world thumb their noses at climate change regulations, should be pointed out as often as possible.

When the tea party/capandtrade revolt is in Denver, I’ll be there with my family. I’m not suggesting we become like them. It was them becoming like what we are and should continue to be that helped them, even if it was only a partial adjustment.

Why did I mention it at all? Because I see people wondering if things can become to broken to fix, and I say they’re wrong. I needed an example, and China is one. Not remotely perfect an example, but a real one.
