I think the Duke gave a good guide for personal conduct:

    (John Wayne in “The Shootist”)

Fine code of conduct and personal responsibility for a MAN- I am rather sure it would not work well for the metrosexual ME ME ME Politically Correct wimps who are trying to turn our sons and grandsons into such wimps.

That is where fathers and grandfathers come in-teach them to be MEN-polite when possible, courteous to all, get the work done first, never be a bully and rip the head of some SOB who is. Hell take them hunting and fishing and let the PC crowd howl–it’s fun.

Teach them to be more like the Duke then ManBearPig Gore :)

I wouldn’t leave the PC crowd out of it, AZ. You gotta have somebody to take out on a good hunt for snipe. It’s not like the have to kill anything, they just catch the live snipe in a sturdy burlap sack.

….anyone heard from Patrick Swayze, lately?

If everything happens in threes, the first three were David Carradine, Ed McMahon, and Farrah Fawcett. Micheal Jackson is number one of the second group of three. Billy Mays is number two. Who will be the third? I know a few I would like to see in that slot, but I won’t say who! Don’t want to get kicked out of here!!

Now that was just silly! Ha! I just wanted to jump in here for a few minutes before I collapse into bed. We just got “rid” of our two grandsons who were here for 11 hours. I’m beat! Always good to hear from another Minnesotan, purple! I wondered where you went.

Sleep well, Scrapper, storms woke me up the other night about 2AM! It was a beautiful day here in the TC area today, though.

    I wondered where you went.

Yeah, every once in a great while I manage to work one hand free from the straightjacket and then I go right for the keyboard!

I have been following the DUmmies reaction to the coup in Honduras. Pretty funny. Lot’s of “Something needs to be done!” comments, etc. Torn between their love of leftist leaders and their hatred of the US actually doing anything. LOL! They are also stymied trying to figure out if there was actually any support for the ousted el Presidente’. And they are trying to studiously ignore the fact that el President’ wanted to institute constitutional changes to extend his time in office. My own view? Yaaaaaawn, it’s central America, it’s like the national pastime.

Yeah, it reminds me of the opening scene in Woody Allen’s “Bananas”. Horward Cosell is doing the “play by play” of one tin-horn dictator-in-waiting having the current tin-horn dictator offed.

If it’s a coup south of the border, it must be Sunday.

Walter Cronkite is not doing well.

Before Michael Jackson died, I asked my Mom the same thing (forgetting about David Carradine). We thought Patrick Swayze was going to be next.

We’ll see. But they do come in threes.

If you catch this, Katadyn makes a great hiker’s filter for around $70. It will purify 200 gal. per filter. (buy replacements)

    I bought mine at Academy.

p.s. We’re placing our beans & rice in vacuum sealed bags, then in 5 gal. buckets for long term storage. (Unless we need them sooner.)
