Bear repellent: Hunting in Alaska they insisted we carry a .44 Magnum in a shoulder holster. Having hunters eaten by bears is bad for repeat business I guess.

If you ever get the chance HUNT ALASKA is fantastic-they say it is once in a life time but I am taking the two older grandsons for my repeat.

For those of you that haven’t heard yet, it looks like Duke has another rape case on its hand and this story involves all the favorite liberal victims groups rolled up into one. And it appears that this time there is sufficient evidence for an indictment compared to Crystal Mangum’s wild tale.

We have a white gay male (a tenured college professor) in a loving gay “marriage” with an adopted African-American child with the same prof admitted to molesting his son, and an offer to pimp the 5 year old boy for sex online.

There are reasons for sterotypes and the generally have more than just a mere association with the truth.

So these young whipper snappers are always hanging out in the bait shop where everyday this old timer comes in with not only a huge amount of fish but fish bigger than anyone ever catches. Really rubs these young folks the wrong way every time they see all those big fish. Finally one day one of the young studs asks the old guy if he can go fishing with him. So the old guy says sure and for the young man to be at the bait shop tomorrow morning by 5 a.m.

Come 5 a.m. the young guy shows up, the old guy gets his boat and take the young dude out on the lake. They go way to the far side of the lake and drop anchor.

The old guy reaches under his seat, pulls out a stick of dynamite, lights it, drops it in the water, a few moments later, BOOM, all these really big fish float to the surface. The old guys nets em, puts the big ones in his cooler.

As the young guy is watching he exclaims to the old guy, “HEY, you can’t do that! That’s illegal!”

While the young dude is talking the old guy lights another fuse. He hands the dynamite to the youngster and says, “You gonna talk or you gonna fish?”

not missing the point, if anyone is missing a point it’s you. For one thing your “NO INCUMBENTS IN 2010″ is not going to happen. What is possible is keep the best we have, donate to the best by our morals and values not to the RNC.

Tell me how do a few “good” legislators over come the majority as you seem to think can be done with such ease. In short, IMHO we keep what’s good dump the rest and fight the left as hard we can any way we can. Personally I’m sick and tired of taking the high road to the cellar.

Your confusing me, you say “dump ‘em all”then say this about Michelle Bachman…”The Michelle Bachman’s would probably survive anyway and if they don’t, 2012 is not far away. For lack of courage to take down their corrupt leadership, they will go down with the ship.” Just how do you figure she’ll survive anyway? Should she change her party affiliation, how will she survive if she doesn’t run under the Republican banner? Are you saying she should run as a Republican in one breathe in your next breathe say she’ll survive, where and how?

How much worse could a new batch of mostly first-termers be? At least they would have our attention. Maybe they would READ legislation before voting?

That’s a gamble I’m not willing to take.

Trust me, she’ll be fine in or out of office. If she cares, she will do the right thing NOW.

I’m concerned about her and her type surviving in congress and building from there…not about her surviving in some other field of endeavor and lose her and others as a fighter for a conservative America.

I’m going to finish this from my side with “boot “em all out” and “I won’t vote for the LOTE’s”…that got us along ways in the last election didn’t it. There was a poster on this site, sorry, can’t remember their id, who was adamant about not voting for Juan McShame, well, that worked out quite well. I voted for the LOTE’s after Gov. Palin joined the ticket, giving me hope she would or could be a big enough influence on McDuff. If McDuff would have won you can bet the country wouldn’t be where it is and where we’re headed now. Too all the non voters last election I certainly hope they feel good about the hand they have in destroying this once great country and hopefully will return to it’s past greatness.

To PP, tks for the exchange.

It’s been several years since we went off shore in the gulf at Port Aransas, TX. We had our own boat and would go about 40+ miles at the rigs. Boy, was the fishing good! It is so much fun to catch something that pulls as hard as you can. We got amberjack, red snapper, tuna, grouper, kingfish, dolphin (the fish), shark, many others, and sometimes hooked something that would break out 50lb line. If you enjoy fishing, please try a gulf trip.

That is how we got here in the first place.

We fix this mess not by making sure we elect the “right” folks to do our bidding in Washington. That mindset leaves the problem in place. The Federal government running our lives. We won’t object because with “our” guys in there, they run it the way we want.

You see the problem is a too strong federal government. Just because the “right” guys are there does not fix the problem. In fact that is how we Republicans ended up having a party that is basically Democrat lite.

We don’t need to break anything. We need to make the machine work as it is suppose to work. The form of government our constitution envision assumes citizen involvement. Take citizen involvement out, the government drifts as all governments do into being too powerful, too costly and too invasive.

We need to make the machine run as designed. We don’t need to break anything.

I heard Bob Uecker tell that story on the Tonight show. Bless his heart, he could tell a good, entertaining bull story. He told it from a first person perspective, with him as the younger fisherman. The older fisherman in the story was some sports legend, I forget who. Variant: Uecker is astonished by the other guy’s initial action. “I said, ‘I can’t believe you, a man famous for sportsmanship and fair play, would do a thing like that.’ So then he lit a stick and handed it to me.” Audience laughs. “I caught eight on my first cast.” Audience laughs harder.

We head to San Diego in July for all that good stuff. I know about the broke part. Being an out of stater, she got nothing in the way of aid so we will be footing the bill with loans. Of course, in the paper this morning California won’t be giving any of their in staters anything either.

Thank God my son goes to Pepperdine. They have a good endowment and have covered his costs pretty well. She benefits too because we would never have been able to get the loans we need for her if we had been paying out for him.

Or yes, for quite a few years now–learned my storage technique from the Mormons here–they have been doing it for generations. We built a pantry-the canned goods we rotate out. As far as dry goods-beans, rice, potatoes and such you need the find the storage procedures that work best in your circumstances. I hang them in bags so they do the touch the floor or walls. Keep them dry and they last.

Try and find a group or source in your area that promotes E-storage. What works in the rather dry desert Southwest may not work in the snow belt.
If you stock up on bottled water be sure and rotate it out. Here is a trick for water filtration kits Emergency or camping:

Before you pour water into a filtration kit run it through two coffer filters-twice-4 filters. That will save your expensive filter membranes.

You are doing the right thing-hopefully never needing to–there are literally dozens of ugly possibilities-natural or man made. Check with local hardware or hunting supply stores for ideas-local is the key.

I noted on the Sunday talk shows, the pundits, democrat and republican alike were talking again about how the republican party has to change if it wants to win.
Remember this, the party is based upon uncompromsing priciples rooted in conservative idealogy.
If you give up those principles, you are no longer republican. The NRCC and the NRSC both support candidates for office who have given up those principles. They no longer deserve to be funded by true conservatives and republicans. We need to with hold our political donations.
Republicans may very well have to take another bath in 2010 for the party establishment to understand to get the support of the people it represents back, it must return back to the core principles.
If we choose to compromise with the party establishment, and give into them, then the party is forever changed. We may as well just call ourselves democrats. Because it is democrats that change their core principles like chameleons to suit their political aspirations.

Which brings up cleaning out the house including the “good” ones—everybody thinks their guy/gal is a “good one” hence we get the same crap over and over. Want to make an impression and prove who they work for?? VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!! The good ones will understand and will stay with the party and help improve the party or we don’t need them anyway. If they want to take their football and go home then goodbye you weren’t one of us afterall. You can vote them back in 2012 if you think they are still wonderful and they are still committed. Take Michelle Bachman–do you think for a minute that she will just go home and bake cookies? Not for a second–maybe she’ll run for Senate (there’s an idea) or gov. or just travel her state and support the process so that this kind of usurpation of the Constitution NEVER happens again.Do you honestly believe that you can’t find one more person just as committed as she is in Minn??

It’s all or nothing–they all go or don’t bother. I would suggest that it would behoove the current good guy incumbents to find someone they can get behind now. IF they are real protective of their “seat” then I also suggest that they are only in it for the glory and are not in it to SERVE the people and isn’t that the basis for this mess in the first place–not listening to their constituents??

Some lacky in Gabrielle Giffords(D-AZ 8th Dist.) office in DC Friday told a friend of mine–who actually managed to get through–that they “didn’t care what the constituents thought” where do you think she got that idea??? Democratic party (wink, wink) rules. Diane Feinstein said the same thing on the floor of the Senate–think its a coincidence or policy???

Bear repellent: Hunting in Alaska they insisted we carry a .44 Magnum in a shoulder holster. Having hunters eaten by bears is bad for repeat business I guess.

If you ever get the chance HUNT ALASKA is fantastic-they say it is once in a life time but I am taking the two older grandsons for my repeat.

I know, all the networks are really overplaying the Jackson thing.

I have a beautiful S&W Classic Hunter .44 mag. Would love to take it to Alaska as a backup! Enjoy the trip and good hunting.

The last time a commenter went nuts abusing his status as a guest in Michelle’s house and got booted out, it wasn’t a pretty site. Lots of people here still use those things. I guess since the humidity is low they can be effective.

My neighbor has been living without her AC for awhile now. Thankfully for her it’s been pretty mild here. But, that’s over now. Summer is here with a vengeance.

They work fine in the desert climate. The weather channel says it’s 104 here in good old Cal City at 2:14 PM.

My swamp cooler has the house cooled to 77 degrees. In the business lingo that’s a 27 degree delta T. Not bad at all. As long as the humidity is low you can’t go wrong with a swamp cooler. The savings in electricity is just the icing on the cake also. My last electric bill was 23 bucks. Mind you I am single so that makes a difference also.

I want to see anyone running a forced air system with one that low. It’s not going to happen.

Declaring carbon dioxide (CO2) to be a dangerous pollutant, then regulate anything that belches CO2 (which is everything that creepeth upon the earth because we are all part of the carbon environment we call life).

Bottom line – if it’s carbon (which is everything on our planet), it gets taxed until it lives no more. A source for tax revenue. All production will move over seas. Energy of any kind will end up with a HEAVY tax. Gas, electricity, transportation costs, food…you name it will, most likely double in cost for anyone who is a consumer.

Our cost of living will increase by 100% in less than 10 years.

I have been adding CO2 to my aquarium for over seven years to make my plants flourish. You can actually see the plants giving off oxygen as it forms on their leaves. It is not a pollutant, but like anything in excess, can cause problems with some plants in the Cryptocorinae family.

It is a lie to say that CO2 causes a greenhouse effect. It does not. The primary cause of the greenhouse effect is water vapor…the CO2 comes later. The myth is a convenient lie for pseudo-ecologists trying to enrich themselves by creating a “crisis” where none exists.

Cap and Trade will do nothing but enrich the perpetrators of the lie, and those in office who enable this theft of American wealth, security, and liberty. Is it treasonous…we’ll see?

(The lefty I had in mind did get the boot just a little bit later, though. Must have been even too much for Rick!)

I don’t mind a very few thoughtful, respectful dissenting on-topic commenters who can express themselves intelligently and rationally.

But I can understand that other folks wouldn’t miss ‘em one whit.

For those who are here solely to disrupt and troll, I’m on board with everyone else to request that Michelle show them the plank.
