Ew. Just ew. Elliot Spitzer gets all high and mighty over the Sanford scandal. He’s never learned to get off his high horse. Via the NYPost:
There’s a huge difference between what South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford did, and what ex-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer did. “I didn’t fall in love with any of them,” Spitzer was overheard telling LMDC executive director Avi Schick the other day at Solo in the Sony Building on Madison, where they had the $24 prix-fixe lunch.
Right. He didn’t waste time with gooey love notes. He just handed his prostitutes cold hard cash and willfully broke the law.
Mrs. Spitzer was unavailable for comment.

Someone needs to remind the governor that David was supposed to be leading his army not lazing around the roof top of his palace looking down on the people he was chosen to lead. This is a prime example of why Sandford might keep his job. Not that I think he should. He’s a crapweasel for sure but it’s all about attitude. Rest assured Sandford’s lapse of judgement is egregious and brings in the question of his ability to govern and therefore says he ought to go. But Spitzmeister continues to show why he is jobless. His comments say a lot about how he feels about women.

Page Six, is notorious and salacious for being a gossip column not hard news. The information is ‘overheard’. Good greif, not even the feeble attempt to hide behind the common refrain of ‘a source said,’ or ‘provided on background.’ Yep, ‘overheard’ and unverified.
As for the story itself, it is believable and could even be true, but taking Page Six as a true source, or passing it off as a source, is being a Page Six note taking gossiper. Not a journalist, not a columnist, not even a reporter.

Spitzer just did what Barney does, hands them cash and pats them on the rear.

Poor Gov. Mark Sanford and ex-New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. Maybe they should form the “Lonely Penis Club”. Meanwhile, I am happy to hold my wife’s hand and think about what a lucky man I am to be married to one of the most wonderful women on earth.
Spitzer needs to realize it wasn’t the meaningless sex with multiple women that brought him down, it was the fact that what he was doing is illegal and something that he himself had taken a high and mighty stance against as a prosecutor.
Sanford on the other hand is a lying, cheating bast**d which, while despicable, is not a crime. If it were, most politicians would be locked up.

Umm, not that I in any way approve of what Gov Sanford did, I guess in today’s world the person who has intercourse without any trace of love holds the high ground over someone who at least thinks they’re in love?

It’s Governors Gone Wild! Spitzer is currently working for his daddy in the real estate business. By the way, as governor, he actually put through a law that not only raises the penalty for patronizing a prostitute, but creates a felony for arranging a sex tour outside New York’s jurisdiction for that purpose. And what did Client No. 9 do when he sent his New York-based escort to a D.C. hotel and followed her there?
