Kabuki. The Repubs only fight when defeat is already certain. Keeps their ACU conservative numbers inflated. But when the game is on the line, Gangs of McCain. They always deliver just enough "maverick" votes to hand the Dems landmark victories.

Don't look for help from the <strike>Republicans</strike> Assistant Democrats. It's about conservatives, not parties.

If this passes, it will be interesting to see how many houses will "accidentally" burn to the ground to collect fire insurance, rather than have to adhere to impossible standards. Of course, by then, government will probably own all the insurance companies and ban the selling of fire insurance.

This bill is so horrible and corrupt, only bribery and blackmail can get it passed. Chicago mafia tactics at work. Please, can we get rid of these people NOW?? Anyone who is in the position to be bribed or blackmailed must go, as well as the thugs who are doing the arm-twisting. We already know where Obama stands on all of this. Just look at his stand on Honduras...the same as Castro's and Hugo Chavez. He still chooses his friends by the same standards that he always used. Nothing has changed from the days of Bill Ayers, that Wright character, and Tony (The Realtor) Rezko. Spit.

Instead of wasting breath looking desperate, the GOP leadership should have been making sure each and every member fully understood the devastating impact of cap-and-tax and had properly girded their loins against being bought off.

It would be easy to assume that given the Republicans are in the minority and up against great odds with liberal Democrats, they would at least get their own members in lock step to oppose destructive legislation instead of fawning after tv cameras, microphones, and begging to be let back into the cocktail party.

For some of these a-holes, it's all about the club they belong to, and nothing about serving the people of the United States of America.

Heath Shuler (D-N.C.). The former Redskins quarterback seems to enjoy being a maverick, publicly ripping Democrats on immigration reform and other matters. Shuler fell in line on this vote.

Shuler is my Congressman (Western NC). With the exception of the Berkeley-lite crowd in Asheville, his Yes vote will not endear him to most of his constituents.

My guess is he would have liked to vote No to continue his maverick charade and boost his chances for re-election next year, but Nancy told him he got to vote with the Republicans the last time, so he has to wait until his turn comes around again. That's how it works on the Democrat side of the aisle.

There are a lot of us here in the mountains that will remember this in November, 2010, Heath.

Constitutional Party sounds fine too, Arizona.

Ammo, yes; but I've been remiss - haven't thought about stockpiling food and water for myself, even though I've advised a son on the subject, including having a well dug and surrounding it with a mini-fort. Is Consumer Guide a good source for advice? Or maybe ask some Mormons?

We need a Liberty Party, and we need it now!
I am thinking Constitutional Party if we can't stop McCain but I need

A BIGGER STOCKPILE OF AMMO, FOOD AND WATER-working here boss. At the moment I am building a bigger storage box for my handloads.

God Bless America except for the Blue States.

I know some people advocate throwing out all Congressional incumbents, but we in the GA 7th District have excellent representation in the person of John Linder. He's an R, but not a RINO.

John's constituents got an email Alert from him about cap and trade this afternoon, in which he states, in part, "... the largest tax increase in decades, under the guise of energy. As discouraging as it is that this frightening bill prevailed, I want to remind you that this is just one step in the process and the fight is far from over. The Senate must still act on this legislation, so you still have an opportunity to have your voice heard by your Senators...."

Yeah. Right. Those Senators are another story. I don't trust those two RINOs any farther than I can throw them. We almost got rid of Chambliss last year. In what was supposed to have been an easy victory, he ended up in a runoff with the Dim candidate. IMO, the Dim would have beat Chambliss in the runoff, had his campaign managers not run adds linking him closely with Obamessiah. Big mistake in Georgia; now no one even remembers his name.

I called Congressman Manzullo's Ill. office today, and thanked them for his NO vote and then told them of the trouble I'd been having in my numerous attempts to reach Congressman Kirk. I requested they pass the message on to Congressman Kirk regarding my invitation to my mother's funeral sometime between 11/1 and 12/31 when she is forced to decide whether she will heat her home or pay for her medications. They were extremely polite and understanding, and I believe they may pass the message on to Manzullo in hopes that he will pass it on to Kirk.
