The GOP’s lovesick puppy tells another lie, breaks another promise.
Via AP, Mark Sanford’s vow-breaking is a bad habit:
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford has backed out of a promise to release personal financial records proving he did not use state money for trips to see his mistress.
…Sanford agreed this week to provide the AP with proof of his payment for trips to New York and Argentina to see her.
His staff first said the records might be made available Tuesday, and then the governor’s spokesman said Wednesday Sanford would not release them.
Like I said this morning: Lying Sanford’s days are numbered. Hurry up.
Someone needs to stage an intervention, stat.

Guess what? Sanford had a book deal in the works before Maria-gate hit. Maybe he’s hanging on for more material.

I am in So. Car. for a few days, and local news says that Sanford wrote the state a check to cover his travel expenses. He’s seen as well liked, by those I’ve spoken with, and they think he should stay for his remaining 18 mos.

Gibbs really seems to have a hard time understanding that pre-selecting questions for a townhall meeting is nearly the same as writing them yourself. Certainly that process is not going to be random selection, especially considering the medium (Facebook, Twitter…).

At the beginning, Gibbs says the selections are being done by “a group over at New Media.” People are supposed to email the questions via email, Twitter, Facebook and then they are being read and selected by the group. Anyone know who the “group at New Media” might be?
And Gibbs understands, he understands, he is just trying to cover up. Notice near the end when Helen Thomas says that he’s not answering the question and he says that’s because I didn’t know you were going to ask it. Bingo. They only have answers for questions they know of and approve before they are asked.
I about fell over when Helen said that reporters are notified the night before (a press conference, I assume) that they will be called on.

Bob Inglis (R-SC) made some goofy statement that Sarah Palin raising Trig is on par with Sanford going through his trails and tribulations with his family. Wasn’t Inglis another of our rising stars? Memo to self: Inglis is an idiot, mark him off the list.

Is he so stupid that he doesn’t know when to shut up? No. I think he’s having mental problems and he should submit himself for evaluation immediately. Actually, he may not be competent right now, so perhaps means to compel him to be evaluated should be employed. This dude needs help really badly.
Take a look around. Can you honestly tell me that America deserves better than that for which it has voted? Just look at our culture. Whom do we revere as a society? Who are the role models? What does this country consider “good”? “Evil”? How does our society view God? God in this country is nothing more than a figment of the imagination with closer resemblance to Santa Claus than Yahweh. It treats Jesus as a yuppie accessory on life rather than the Son of God with whom the Father is well pleased. By what standard do you believe that this country deserves anything other than what it’s getting and going to get?
I maintain begging for forgiveness from anyone other than God and his wife is an exercise in futility. The rest of us don’t have a dog in this fight. We’re simply estounded at his total lack of morals and juvenile behavior. Why he still thinks others need/want to know the tabloid details elevates this whole sordid affair way higher than the position he holds.
