CNN managed to say that Bush had failed in Iraq in a Michael Jackson worship piece yesterday. Really.

Somehow these missles are Bush’s fault too.

I know about the treaties. BUSH didn’t sign them, not so sure about our dear leader.

And, as usual, most of the signatories will honor them in the breach, not in their compliance.

Which means, of course, our troops can count on having to face them…while not being able to use them.

The good news is the Bush administration kept its promise to develop and deploy missile defense to protect us against an expanding nuke and missile threat. Otherwise, we’d now be completely vulnerable to North Korean missiles.

The bad news is the new team hit the brakes on developing the Pacific missile-defense system further, halted the development of a European system to protect us against the unfolding Iranian threat and cut the missile-defense budget by 15 percent.

Maybe North Korean menacing will finally convince the administration and Congress that being able to protect yourself with missile defense is really a good thing. It certainly beats the alternative — “Duck and Cover.”

Appropriately, he gives fmr. President Bush credit for the fact that we have a missile defense system. And you can infer that if the existence of our missile defense systems were up to Obama, we would likely not have developed it at all.

followed by tanks, cannons, bayonets, bullets. Well, not bullets. But each soldier will be issued just one which can only be loaded and used in upon approval by Dear Leader.

Somehow the idea of any weapons being “uncivilized” makes about as much sense as warfare every actually becoming “civilized” and a crock tossed out to the peaceniks by diplomats and others who have never experienced the horrors firsthand.

I’d tend to agree – except – I’d recommend we sever all ties except with some underling – just not recognize him as the leader. It’d really annoy the daylights out of him.
